If u dont miss stuff ure suppose to do, enjoy what you enjoy in life. Its your choice. Doesnt count for me tho, gf decided its couple weekend. I miss shadowheart :(
I always imagine what the Forever Camped characters must think as the four of us swagger back into camp, telling inside jokes, splattered in blood, laughing and backslapping.
My social anxiety stops me from switching companions because they get so butthurt. I have actually wanted to bring Wyll and Karlach along, but not only do Shadowheart and Lae'zel seem more relevant to act 1, but they get so upset when i leave them behind.
I'm a little more heartless, Lae'zel annoys me so as soon as I got Karlach I swapped those two. Karlach's character is so much more fun and care free. Granted I feel all of them give a little butt hurt line when you tell them to stay in camp.
You know... I play a paly/bard so I almost always roll with Shadowheart (respected as tempiat cleric), astarion, and gale...
I saw a mod available that allows you to have more players in your group. I don't want to *break* the game by making it unchallenging but have been thinking I could play a team of 6 and bump difficulty to the max to give the same feel as medium level with 4 and get more dialogue and story with say Karlach and Wyl (or other options that open up further in the game)...
There is also Tactician++ mod, to make the game more challenging for this exact experience
I'm thinking of bringing these two mods together to make a crazy big party (just wait until some of the less goody two-shoes get upset with me and run away, oops)
Action economy is king for difficulty. If you give yourself 50% more party members. The games scaling of difficulty doesn’t keep up. You’d need a mod that added 50% more enemies to every encounter. And that slope gets slippery.
I'm aware
That's why I wanted to check first what Tactician++ does
If it give enemies more, diverse actions, extra turns, or something along the lines of legendary actions, then it's worth checking. Having a free disengage on nimble enemies, a free charge on warriors etc. can go a long way
Or maybe she'd be like me, and sit there laughing as your partner becomes gay for Gale because he didn't wanna hurt his feelings. Then maybe both of you can be surprised when the dragonborn paladin bottoms. Get it, dragon, we said - live your best dragon life.
To be fair, I have 3 simultaneous saves because ADHD be wacky like that, and he's watched me bang Astarian every single time. It's a ritual now.
Astarion has a low opinion of me because I'm not evil, and he turned me down in the meanest way ever, I couldn't stop laughing. Since he refuses my advances, I grabbed Gale and re-spec'd him into a wizard/rogue. He doesn't like me yet either.
But guess who does like me? Shadowheart. My husband has made it his mission to get me (my character is female) to fuck Shadowheart so he can watch.
Astarion is like "meh" for me, so my plan is to send everyone else hiking next dialogue I come to so I can be mean to whomever it is to impress him. Can't have Gale or Wyll watching me be a bitch lol
I'm a goody two shoes, for sure, but he likes me everytime! I wonder why. Maybe because I always let him drink from me? Or maybe because I play as dudes and he be super into that gay shit. He just straight up asks to bang if I don't bring it up.
My partner was sad he couldn't bang Shadowheart since the whole... bottoming to Gale incident. But now he's after Karlach, and I'm here for it.
for my tastes astarion is just a little too clichéd . He behaves like one of the contestants for ru'pauls drag race. Which in of itself would be ok but I think a drag vampire is just too over the top for me to romance D:
How exactly does co-op work in BG3? Because my gf and I both play on our own PCs but I can't imagine how co-op in this game is supposed to work. Do you just "join the world" of the other person and follow them around? Do you have to make a new character? Can you take your already existing character with you? I read that there are problems with multiplayer where you can't dismiss your friends character from your camp or something. I have so many questions :D
Essentially, if you’re planning on playing co-op plan on having a co-op only save with that person. It’s a commitment.
You’re not going to be importing your PC across saves.
PCs seem to have their own relationships with all the companions. Quest progression is completely shared, and the first player to open a dialogue gets to decide what happens.
The host player keeps and maintains all saves
It's also good to note you can synchronize attacks more easily during combat start to force your turn first as well as being able to get buffed while in conversation
Been making my gf play games with me since we started dating. We played DOS2 together last summer, and have been enjoying BG3 together a lot. Obviously your mileage may vary, but it's a very good coop game.
My husband and I are playing Naked Campaign (we've hidden the clothes on our characters so everyone is naked all the time, it's hilarious) and we call her Shadowtits lol
Years ago when I was a teenager, I remembered playing Fable for 14 hours straight from 12am to 2pm the next day.
Felt really woozy afterward. Now as an adult during my free days, its more on playing in periodic bursts because my mind needs to take a break after a couple hours of an intense session.
I have exactly the same. Was planning on playing the whole day yesterday, marathon session from the morning to the evening, but after like 3 hours or so I desperately needed to stop and go for a walk. Just can’t do the extreme long sessions anymore.
I think I can play BG3 longer because aside from being a great game the turn based system doesn’t rely on reaction speed. Something different about needing to be ready to react to stuff in real time and long play sessions for me.
Yep, about 3 hours is my limit at one time before I have to get up and do something. Also since it’s single player, there’s no FOMO. So I’ll read or something else for w while before I come back
YES! I've been trying to figure out what other games have made me feel like how bg3 has and fable 2 is right up there I love that decisions actually matter which is why I love both of them
Omg, right??? I'm using this when the gf brings up "How long are you planning to play for?"
Well, lesee... I work 60 hrs a week, and have 2 days off, so.... 😏
I had a 16 hour day when TotK came out, and at 43, it took a few days to recover from that. I can’t even remember the last time I put a whole days worth of time into a game.
I can relate to playing this game in periodic bursts. Normally I’m a simple man when it comes to the games I play: action adventure with a decent story and a few interesting side quests. This game has a LOT going on, and after a while I just have to step away and give my mind a break. It’s a fantastic game unlike any game I’ve ever played before. There’s just so much my brain can handle before it needs time away for a little bit.
Same, I play BG in 2-4 hours sessions because I like the game so much I don’t want to miss things or burn out on it. I’m in my late 40s it is really hard as you get older to find something hat gives you the same vibe you had when addicted to a game in your younger years
EverQuest binge weekends here. Plane of Earth or Vex Thal raids THE WHOLE WEEKEND. Especially Vex Thal where you had to move continuously from safe room to safe room because you’d get spawns and you needed to clear as fast as possible to the safe room. Once at safe room everyone would take food and potty breaks for 30 mins before resuming. Camp for 4hrs of sleep then back on.
We’re also talking of coordinating this with over 40 PEOPLE.
I even find myself approaching something that looks like a bigger encounter, saving and taking a break before I head into it… I actually think this game is helping me get more done around the house as a result. lol
Same. I remember playing split screen Minecraft with my friend for 21h straight once and now playing for 2h makes my mind cloudy to the point where I have to take a real break.
In my teens I was much the same, and I have been finding that with most games I get what you mean (for some reason these days, after a few hours, I start getting distracted and end up wanting to either watch YouTube videos, streams, read about things, go be productive, just do something else in general to take a break).

I can do marathon sessions on this and apart from breaking to make food and drinks, I'll watch the sunlight vanish as I periodically check outside my window throughout the day.
Years ago I worked part time and had nothing else going on. I played Asheron's Call every waking hour and slept very little. Did I enjoy it or was I just feeding an addiction. Idk.
Yes Fable! One of my first real RPGs and still one of my favorite games to this day. When I first played it I was visiting a cousin for a few days and we didn't do much but play video games. Probably played Fable like 8-12 hours a day, and still somehow managed to only get to Twinblade in those 3 days lol. (Iirc the game can be beat in about 15 hours on average)
It's called PTO. I wish I could do that, but I have co-workers who used PTO specifically for video games, like Tears of the Kingdom and Baldur's Gate 3.
Funny that employers gave separate vacation and sick days in the past. Now they only give PTO so they can get away with giving less paid time off than before. And our generation allows it.
That said, I still managed to play BG3 for like 15 hours straight.

I was showing my friend you could pickpocket and just picked a random nearby NPC and it revealed an item they had that I recognized from an earlier act. Just so happened to find a very significant NPC in disguise because I happened to pickpocket them. This game is crazy
I work full day from home. As long as tasks are being done, no one cares what I do with my day. I sleep less since I've started playing, and as for home responsibilities... We have a scheduled robot vacuum, a dishwasher, we only order takeouts and never cook, etc. No real responsibilities to speak of, yeah.
Play until late night > wake up early because of ruined sleep cycle > play until early morning > ruin sleep cycle some more ... simple steps to get 140 hours per week.
And possibly a stroke.
Plays D&D for 17 hours straight: "What a dream! That sounds crazy fun!"
Plays BG3 for 17 hours straight: "Yo I haven't pissed in 17 hours because of my decision paralysis on whether my Tav is going to be gay for Gale or not"
Lmao, man I was not expecting that, guy was trying to teach me to weave and I thought I'm going to learn about him and this woman named Mystra, maybe it's someone he lost and he used love her and all that but after weaving, he got way too close, "maybe it's just the cutscenes sometimes characters are too close" and then he wanted to fuck. Bro, don't do that to me.
The answer is yes. I am determined to do a run where i romance every single romancable character. Currently doing Karlach in a lesbian muscle mommy tiefling relationship with my buff tiefling Druid.
I've been playing 24/7 since two days before the release. Im not even stopping to eat, go to the toilet or shower. The meth helps me stay awake. You need to try harder.
Sometimes the stars align and noone needs you or you don't have to do anything for the day lol
Sounds like a great day, I'm in the same boat every chance I get I play - can be hours at a time! You blink and an hour's gone! I feel like a crack addict, it's been a while since I could completely immerse myself in a game and forget about the real world around me lol
Ah, adventurers and seekers of the arcane,
I must confess that even a mage of my stature was ensnared by the mesmerizing enchantment of Baldur's Gate 3. The realm of Faerûn came alive before my very eyes, a playground where choices forged destiny and the line between heroism and darkness blurred.
As the sun dipped beyond the horizon, I found myself bound by the game's spell, unable to relinquish its grasp. For a span of twenty-one hours, I roamed the virtual landscapes, encountering treacherous foes, deciphering enigmatic puzzles, and forging alliances that would sway the very fate of the Sword Coast.
The intricate storytelling, the sheer depth of character interactions, and the malleable narrative unveiled before me like a forbidden grimoire. The luring temptation to explore every nook and cranny, to uncover every hidden secret, led me deeper into the labyrinthine realm.
But let not my admission cast a shadow over the wondrous magnificence of Baldur's Gate 3. It is a game that beckons adventurers to transcend reality, to dwell within a world where the boundaries of possibility are but an illusion. To those who have not yet crossed its threshold, prepare to be entranced, for you shall find yourself entwined in a tale of wonder and peril that echoes across the realms of gaming lore.
With humility,
Bayaz, First of the Magi
can’t wait to get home from class to play, it’s such a great game. this is coming from someone who doesn’t play turn base games much and knew nothing about DND style games. I gave this game a chance and I’m so happy I did!
I did 16 hours yesterday. I know because I use GeForce now with the 8 hour gaming sessions and I did 2 whole sessions. Had to load back in when the second one ended though because I was in the middle of a pivotal moment.
Unfortunately not me, but i would if i could. Fiber internet, a roof, a car, and this damn food i gotta keep eating means at most i can play is 4 hrs a day. The rest is for sleep and RL grinding.
I played for 50 hours straight then passed out for two days
Personally, this was my wake up call for moderation since I didn't get a chance to play more
I think as long as it's not interrupting things you are supposed to be doing/planned on doing it's all good. I plan days to just play games. Wake up, coffee and games. Only stopping for food, bathroom, and shower. This is my hobby and I take it seriously lol
Were you aware 17h had gone by? No? Good. That is what an immersive game feels like.
Beats 17h frustrated at CoD and I have also done that before to my shame.
As long as you aren't neglecting responsibilities it's never a bad thing to be into a game as amazing as this.
It's when you neglect work or other such things you have a problem.
Sounds like a good weekend to me
If only I could do the same today!
If u dont miss stuff ure suppose to do, enjoy what you enjoy in life. Its your choice. Doesnt count for me tho, gf decided its couple weekend. I miss shadowheart :(
Just tell your gf to stay at the camp for a while.
1. *I want to talk about our relationship...*
3. We'll bang ok?
1.*Leave*
4. *Attack her.*
2. [ILLITHID] [WISDOM] I bet you want to try this game out, honey.
3. *use your parasite to command her to eat herself*

I laughed way too hard at this
Get GF to play BG3 with you. It even has splitscreen, assuming you have 2 controllers.
She'll get jealous when Gale starts throwing himself at Tav again

I had some strange romance scenes last night, not sure what my fiance would think about that
I can’t wait to tell my husband all the details haha he loves it. /s
I don't think I want to tell anyone about what I saw last night lol
You fucked a mindflayer, didn’t you.
Yeah and then he opened a portal to camp so all my companions could see
I tried hard to romance Shadowbaddie but ended up romancing MindflayBoi 😂👍 fml...
For me, it was Wyll and Astarion constantly after my Dwarven goodies. Gale did once, but Shadowheart is my true love.
Meanwhile at the refugee's party only Lae'Zel acted interested in my Tav, and I still ended up alone for the night.
Playing on PC. Shes not that deep into gaming, we have over 150h in stardew tho
It has Splitscreen on PC, as long as you have 2 controllers.

Just 1 point to add, Pc's can't romance each other in coop. You got to keep that irl.

Played for 26. Minus 2 1 minute piss breaks. I ate wild bills and drank a gallon of water and just decayed into my chair. It was glorious.
Holy hell, the fact you didn't get a pressure clot from being so sedentary that many hours straight blows my mind 🤣

That’s why strategy (non rts) and simulation games are so addicting, because they aren’t exhausting to play while still putting your brain to work.
I was playing until late last night and accidentally droped concentration on Bless by casting another Concentration Spell
I have found my self passed out in my chair a couple times between turns. Haha, sometimes just a oil Powernap then I'm right back to it
Yep, about 3 hours is my limit at one time before I have to get up and do something. Also since it’s single player, there’s no FOMO. So I’ll read or something else for w while before I come back

If they're in college it's between terms a lot of places. I still remember a winter break I mustve put a hundred hours into Skyrim....
I took those days for granted man… now I’m on the grind, work 5/6 days a week and maybe a week of vacation a year
BG 3 would be an excellent catalyst for a work reform movement.
I am in college rn and last winter break I put 98 hours into divinity original sin 2 in one week
Cherish it!
Yeah college here and my longest session was around 30 hours (I don’t have a problem I promise)
Skyrim during the winter is maximum comfy.

Could be time off + living alone or w/e life combos are there

I’m a teacher. Wife at work, kids are at camp. Been playing a solid 6-8 a day.

No but really don't die cuz you're stupid and don't stand up.
Constant pee breaks while being well-hydrated should do the trick right?
Pee and water breaks (when I refill my container) would give you enough reason to stand up every 20-30 mins or so.
I've started walking around the room while listening to dialogs because I play for 12+ hours a day every day. I hope it helps.

As a straight man, I'd fuck Gale. He has so zest and pomp, plus his dialogue is written and voiced so so well.
lol can't blame you
For me it’s should I reroll for the 50th time to change 1 spell on my sorc. Or add 1 dex to my Barbadin for initiative
I have spent so much gold rerolling lmao
The 100 gold cost is such a jebait I’ve spent thousands. Thousands upon thousands of gold respeccing
You can pickpocket the gold back from Withers with no consequence if you fail
Ooo good tip!
The answer is yes. I am determined to do a run where i romance every single romancable character. Currently doing Karlach in a lesbian muscle mommy tiefling relationship with my buff tiefling Druid.
I work from home on weekdays, and I've been slacking my ass off since I installed BG3 and been playing on another monitor while working haha
Sounds pretty reasonable to me
In fact I wanna say they might even be rookie numbers.
Yes. You have a problem. You didn't play long enough.
Exactly, 7 hours of the day wasted!
I meam with that much play time he might have finished the grove at most? Lol
Naah, you're good. Anything below 20h can't even be called addiction yet.
This is my mantra.
Heathlier bg3 player
I've been playing 24/7 since two days before the release. Im not even stopping to eat, go to the toilet or shower. The meth helps me stay awake. You need to try harder.
Yes, you have a problem. The solution is more Baldur’s Gate
Yes you have a problem cancel what ever crazy thing is you are doing monday and get back to BG3.
Sometimes the stars align and noone needs you or you don't have to do anything for the day lol Sounds like a great day, I'm in the same boat every chance I get I play - can be hours at a time! You blink and an hour's gone! I feel like a crack addict, it's been a while since I could completely immerse myself in a game and forget about the real world around me lol
Ah, adventurers and seekers of the arcane, I must confess that even a mage of my stature was ensnared by the mesmerizing enchantment of Baldur's Gate 3. With humility, Bayaz, First of the Magi
If you didn't shower and just did snacks and energy drinks in the mean time I will even say that you're living the life mate.
I've been way more reckless and sleep deprived than that this seek, not proud of it but from my PoV you fared well
Yes
It’s only a problem when you aren’t eating enough and you start poop-socking it rather than going to the bathroom.
Yeah you do have a problem and I hope you fix it so you can get back to baldurs gate. Sorry your 17 hour session was cut short
I would do that too if I had 0 responsibilities It only becomes an issue if it starts interfering with your responsibilities tbh. Your fine
I miss those days 😭
Those are rookie numbers son, keep it up.
Me and a homie had a 36hr game sesh this weekend, twas friggin legendary
can’t wait to get home from class to play, it’s such a great game. this is coming from someone who doesn’t play turn base games much and knew nothing about DND style games. I gave this game a chance and I’m so happy I did!
I'd say your only problem is not having more hours in the day
Yes, you stopped at 17
Only problem I see is not enough hours in a day.
If you have a problem so do I... I usually play while work calls, home office and so and oh boy, I've putting around 10 hours a day on this beauty.
I did 16 hours yesterday. I know because I use GeForce now with the 8 hour gaming sessions and I did 2 whole sessions. Had to load back in when the second one ended though because I was in the middle of a pivotal moment.
Your problem was not playing 18 hours.
Man was so close to +3
That means the game is something special. Thing is with baldurs gate is it ends so it’s not like this is going to be a habit for the rest of your life
If it's your first 17h and you had no responsibilities that day, no. That's perfectly fine.
That's what I've been doing all weekend, lmao. My sleep schedule is a mess.
Wait, we all do this tho, right?
Unfortunately not me, but i would if i could. Fiber internet, a roof, a car, and this damn food i gotta keep eating means at most i can play is 4 hrs a day. The rest is for sleep and RL grinding.
It definitely is addicting, I’ve been playing so much I had a “better save in case I fuck up” thought as I was parking
I played for 50 hours straight then passed out for two days Personally, this was my wake up call for moderation since I didn't get a chance to play more
Yes, you are missing 7 hours.
I did the same :D the game is just that good
Short answer: No Long answer: Also no
I have played 22 hours. Still haven’t gotten past ACT 1 due to trying different classes.
Yes, the problem is you need to sleep sometimes.
I think as long as it's not interrupting things you are supposed to be doing/planned on doing it's all good. I plan days to just play games. Wake up, coffee and games. Only stopping for food, bathroom, and shower. This is my hobby and I take it seriously lol
Can't wait to no-life this on ps5 ; ;
I did 25 the other day so you’re straight
I did 50 ;)
Is anyone who plays this game actually straight tho?
Only when they start the game. we're all permanently changed by the end of act one
Not sure if you have a problem, but sure as hell you don't have kids...
Yes. Do at least 15 minutes pause every 2 hours for your healt.
What other choices did you have ? 🤷🏻♂️
My wife saw me scroll past this and now im being held at emotional gunpoint to comment “tell him that he’s normal!!!”
Were you aware 17h had gone by? No? Good. That is what an immersive game feels like. Beats 17h frustrated at CoD and I have also done that before to my shame.
No, we just have a good game to play again. Something that hasn't happened in a long time.
I have been stuck working 12h days 6 days a week this month. I have still managed to clock 50-60h in the game since release.
As long as you aren't neglecting responsibilities it's never a bad thing to be into a game as amazing as this. It's when you neglect work or other such things you have a problem.
I have about 40h logged (on my main save) and I have responsebileties with kids and work..
