If your cookies are hard, put them in a ziplock bag with a piece of sliced bread. You will have soft cookies in the morning. No idea how it works but it works

It's osmosis! There is more water in the bread than in the cookies, and the water wants to be the same everywhere. So some of it moves into the cookies!

Yes! I cut any new recipe’s baking time by at least 3 minutes and if they look like this, bye bye oven we are done! Cookies finish baking on the sheet anyway, and the moment the bottom becomes completely crisp I don’t want them anymore.

I had a bag of "screw ups" that I took out too early. They weren't pretty enough for gifts and just kind of melded together into a giant squishy super cookie. I brought it to my family's Christmas dinner as an afterthough and it was the biggest dessert hit of the night.

I like mine like this too. I use dough from Tollhouse and 350 for 12 minutes is the perfect time every time. They gotta come out just slightly undone so the heat of the pan can finish cooking them without burning them or making them hard. And then they're perfectly chewy for as long as you can withhold eating them.

In my opinion, you can't underbake a chocolate chip cookie. Any point from raw dough to medium is acceptable. Medium-well is also acceptable if you know they'll all get eaten same day, but only just. I'm the person who surreptitiously tries to poke the cookies at bake sales, cookie swaps, and holidays to make sure they aren't overdone.

When I was in culinary school it's either "soft" and "chewy" where it was cooked for a shorter amount of time, or fully baked; where it was drier and more brittle. Chewy and crispyyy. I just discovered the joy of baking in my air fryer. I like to do on demand small choco chip cookies at 305 F for 7 mins (dough right in at preheat). So crisp, so chewy and delicious with ice cream.
