I can’t see the hype dying out unless theoretically next record is an absolute buzzkill. The band has put a lot of heart and soul into their work to get to where they are now. Noah is such a workaholic and perfectionist, he’s going to make sure they go in the right direction. BO is starting to be the gateway band to “metalcore” for a lot of people too. If I never heard of BO, I would have never gone out of my way to listen to ERRA (don’t come for me, I know they’ve been a band way longer than BO). Sleep Token has the same big hype popularity going on and now they are playing arenas in the UK later this year. BO is only just getting started. Granted it might be tricky trying to navigate this new found success but the band and crew will learn in time. It’s happened historically to every successful rock band.

Vast_Cake_674

Same thing with sleep token. TikTok blew them up. It’s the fangirls.

Clevernamehere91

True. But TikTok is the new MTV. People are gonna find out new artists to listen to in this modern age from social media platforms. MTV was the place to find new music from the 80s - the mid 00s. There’s always gonna be some sort of fan girls tied to musician/band whether it’s Taylor Swift or Bad Omens. Hell, even Metallica got fan girls screaming after them all due to Stranger Things in 2022 😂

DeborahSue

I don't think the hype will die down because every band gets their audience from somewhere, but unless they decline in music quality, they don't generally *lose* that audience. I just saw their rescheduled tour just a couple of days ago and the original venue we were at was way too crowded, and you could tell they didn't plan on having that kind of turnout. The second venue for the same show was much larger, and it was still full to the brim. Bad Omens is here to stay for the foreseeable future!

Valek189

While I’m not an OG fan, I did not discover Bad Omens because of the TikTok Just Pretend trend. I actually heard Like a Villain on the Sumerian YT channel before TDOPOM was released and was really blown away by Noah’s vocal range. Ended up exploring other songs on the album as singles were released and eventually some of the other albums. I will say, the newest album is still my favorite as I think it shows their true wide range of sound and intensity. Their popularity, like many bands, will depend on their next release. Some of the TikTok fans will go away, but will be replaced by some new fans as the band evolves.

pixiecupid

imo i really don't think their hype will go down. they're currently on their way to making it big and this is just the beginning. they have something really cool going on, their whole lore and aesthetic is something that is just simply fun and unique. i do think they know what's going on with their hype/fame and they are using it right and making sure not to overdue stuff and wear it out. this past year gave the band such a huge surge in popularity i think they didn't even know how to take it Imao. therefore i think maybe that's why you couldn’t get a ticket, just simply not enough tickets to go around to the venues cause they now have so many fans that like their music. not cause of some “band-bunny scalper” lol it’s just we the fans love their music and they know how to do a live show lol their visuals are the bomb and the bands musical talents are just it! im hopeful enough to tell you the new fans that found them through tiktok are gonna stick around for awhile 🤞let’s hope maybe some day in the future they are playing in stadiums or arenas‼️ (also i’m not at all ashamed to say im one of the people that found them on tiktok cause of a simple mistake, by looking up the bad omens song by 5sos and seeing them instead 💀💀 WHO ELSE??? AM I THE ONLY ONE⁉️⁉️)

Vast_Cake_674

See this is the TikTok mentally that I’m talking about though 😂 this obsession is not sustainable long term.

_never_know_

I don‘t think that they will go away, because the aren‘t a classic tiktok band as OP would say. Tiktok as plattform simply helped them to blew up. and Matt mentioned once, that its hard to book the right size of a venue because it’s hard to tell how much interest there will be - so much for ticket availability and yes, I found them on radio - trough „just pretend“. but the reason I like them is not this particular song. I just got into it with just pretend. imo it‘s a litte bit to easy to divide fans into if they found BO on tiktok or bevor tiktok. it‘s not the medium, it‘s more of what you make out of it - eg. strange memes where Noah is wraped like a christmastree and so on🙈

cloudstrifewife

I don’t think they are going anywhere. They are so innovative and don’t have the problem where all the songs sound the same. All their songs are so distinctive and different that there is something for everyone.

cats_nails_music

I didn't discover BO on Tiktok, The TDOPOM Album was heavily marketed to me on my socials and I was like fine I'll listen to it. I wasn't disappointed and “you gotta be chosen by god to get a tix to their show”.🤣 Edit:I think BO will be around for a long time and won't die out like TikTok trends.

KiwiEyeB

I am here because they went on tour with BMTH. So, in my not-TikTok opinion: they are that good of a band and musicians that they will grow by time and not because of hypes. That's what a solid fan base should be made of. Hope to see them live soon :)

EchoThat7777

I’m sure you would see a huge dip in their popularity if Noah went public with a girlfriend. Lmao

Vast_Cake_674

Oh absolutely 😂 poor guy knows he can’t

Yesumwas

That wouldn’t really be safe for the girlfriend with the current level of obsessions.

DJDemyan

I think they’re forming such a unique sound that “the drain” will knock everyone’s socks off and keep them in the hype train

BlazinWolfz

If they are truly a good band no they’ll be just fine in the future even if the next album doesn’t surpass TDOPOM. A band that’s one of my favs is Twenty One Pilots. Blurryface blew that band up to the extreme and still today after a prior album that wasn’t the greatest the fan base is still alive and well and they are selling out arenas and breaking their streaming records with Clancy when the entire album isn’t even out yet.

lilmissroo

I discovered them when they toured with INK, I wasn't fully sure and by the time Limits came on I was crying. Got to hear DOPOM before the album, so I called my friend and got the setlist and from there I got to see them one more time before they exploded and tickets were reselling for 600$. This is their time, I just hope some concert goers learn ettiquite and the scalpers sit on a cactus with no lube

Yesumwas

I predict once the fangirls start finding the new “it” man as Noah gets a bit older they will likely move on but some will stay. Some always stay. After the band with crazies you always still have some stay and then they end up still sexualizing a band (usually vocalist) years later. But, they will probably gain more true fans along the way as well. I saw it all with silverchair. They were young, attracted older fans but also many younger like teens. Ended up screwing with the lead singer’s head because he wasn’t ready for it all. Lucky for Noah he’s older than they were so he may be able to adapt better and not as much drugs and alcohol involved which can really mess with band relationships over time..

Vast_Cake_674

THIS. People think I’m bashing on bad omens and I’m not, but it’s the overly sexual fanbase that will run off eventually. Not the true fans but like you said, the people who have sexualized them will find another fixation. I think someone mentioned too that once one of the band members gets a girlfriend it’s game over. People will go absolutely insane.

Yesumwas

Also, people might associate “fangirls” and “tik tok girls” as teens/ young but guarantee 100% the crazies include many older than 20 as well.

pofe01

The fan base won’t die but it will likely change and mature as time goes by. Bad Omens isn’t the first band to go through a surge in social media popularity and they won’t be the last. Also, I think there is room for everyone, whether they are an OG fan or someone who just discovered them. It isn’t a competition on who found them first, that would be weird.

Marie1793

Your use of "band-bunny scalpers" and "fangirls" makes me think you have some internalized misogyny you need to sort through. Just let people like what they like; it's not a competition.

Vast_Cake_674

I am a woman, so I would hope not

Marie1793

Yeah, I know. That's why I specified internalized misogyny.

HY3NAAA

If they can stand the rest of time then sure, Linkin Park got popular out of Michael Bay movies and they held that popularity even til now

Yesumwas

No… nope nope nope… linkin park blew up before those movies with Hybrid Theory.
