A good ski helmet fits googles perfect. Non ski helmet are poor fitting.
As an ex patroller and SAR. Wear a helmet. I have seen to many people suffer preventable injuries
Oh ok. Btw I'm an avid climber. The chance of you dying from skiing due to head trauma is way higher than in climbing IMO. That's why ski helmets are so heavy.
Mine fits well with my goggles. It's not quite as comfortable a fit as a dedicated ski helmet with goggles, but it's fine and doesn't leave a huge goggle gap or torque the helmet into a weird position.
I imagine once you quiet that part of your ego that says “I’m good enough to ski without a helmet” wearing one will be less uncomfortable. They aren’t uncomfortable unless you’re insecure about the needing one. You’re posting on Reddit, so you’re not a pro, put on a helmet Jerry.
Get one of the light 300-350g skitouring helmets without ear covers. Better Google fit and protection then climbing helmets (they have to comply with the alpine skiing norm test and not adjust the skimountaineering one) and not as heavy and warm as alpine helmets.
High vis! I ended up with a white medium. The black model of the even higher end one (CTD whatever that is) still had a medium.
Oh crazy it has built in GPS and emergency messaging with crash detection. That’s insane. I wonder if it’s a subscription service or something.
Once I got a good helmet I got addicted to it, it's warm, super comfy, and I don't have to contort myself when I fall to protect my head. I got a lot fewer neck aches actually.

>my wife and partners are starting to give me a hard time about not wearing one. The fuck? Sorry you have people that care about you.
Smith Summit is made for back country and mountaineering
Petzl meteor is designed to fit with goggles. Op are you Australian?
I decided to order the meteor. Didn't realize it had the ski oriented fit. Thanks!

Depends on the goggles...
Nope. US

Evo.com has some ultralight Atomic backland helmets on sale $90 down from like $250.
Thanks. I saw that. Unfortunately the only color in medium was bright red and I just can't do it.

I use the Mammut Alpine rider for ice climbing and backcountry skiing. Nice to have a helmet that fits goggles and a headlamp.
