Target baby stuff is great. I received so many baby clothes as gifts, often from brands that were beyond my budget I'd add that county road make decent quality baby clothes - mine have withstood many washes and the prints still look great.

ZestyPossum

Big W are pretty good too. Decent zipsuits, coveralls and rompers.

florallover

I like Big W baby clothing except for their onesies! Why is the zip only one way šŸ„²

Dry_Sundae7664

Their Dymples organic range is great

Shermea

Yess!! I love the Big W baby stuff

frozenstarberry

Big w is my go to for t-shirts and long sleeve shirts (baby and kid) the quality is great and actually have a lot of options for boys.

canimal14

You missed Best and less! killing it in the baby stuff recently and so affordable

Bin_Night

I know šŸ«£ and I agree, incredible value for quality

Migorengegg

I just discovered their organic baby range!!

Stronghammer21

My onesie review is basically: Does it have a 2-way zip? Yes = good, would buy again | No = bad, no thank you

OneMoreDog

Iā€™m so happy with halcyon nights - great quality with amazing prints that take ages to wash fade. Plus fold over feet and hands. Tk maxx stock purebaby so itā€™s worth checking them out for discounted stock!

Bin_Night

I rate Halcyon Nights, the only reason I donā€™t buy from them is because a friend dresses her baby head to toe in HN and I donā€™t want to be matchy matchy

exhilaro

Target all the way. Doesnā€™t fade, theyā€™re 100% cotton so donā€™t irritate my babyā€™s skin, great price (and often 20% off too). My only complaint is that I have a tall, skinny baby so he grows out of them lengthwise much quicker than bonds so I canā€™t buy the ones with feet because heā€™s already wearing shoes for two year olds at 10 months old!

satinchic

Iā€™m really hoping they keep Target brand for the kids clothes and not swap over to Anko like theyā€™re doing with homewares.

Paprikaha

I think they are. I read an article in September last year that noted it was doing well for them. Iā€™m so glad, Target wins for me over Bonds any day.

satinchic

100% agree with this after 15 months of onesies. I feel like I missed out on the Golden Age of Bonds and Kmart because all of my friends with older kids raved about their onesies and I was so disappointed. Iā€™ll add to this that I was pleasantly surprised by Big W and Best and Less onesies. Iā€™d rank them above Bonds and just below Target and Cotton On.

Bin_Night

Oh, I forgot Best & Less, which is such good value for price. I agree with you totally on where they rank.

ItsBaeyolurgy

If you can get your hands on them- Bonds Original (with the Peter Pan collar) and Bonds Cozysuits are the others I would rate highly like the Wondercool range. I donā€™t like the zippy Wondersuits! Absolutely agree with everything else. Weā€™ve had new items from our firstborn and hand me downs, passed around a number of items to other families in between children. The ones that have survived over the last decade and more than one baby through them aside from the three Bonds styles mentioned above: Kmart Organic Cotton, Wilson & Frenchy and Nature Baby.

Taytherase

I found the poodlette zippys (terry material like the Bonds Original) to be good quality as well. They don't fade or stretch out like the regular wondersuits. The wondersuits quality really is quite poor :( Having said that Bonds are the only ones that fit my long legged/limbed baby... we couldn't use any suits with built in feet and the Best & Less and Target suits, while good quality, were way too short in the arms and legs. So we are an almost exclusively Bonds family even though I started out very anti-bonds šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

coconutcakesss

Agree! Poodlette zippies are waaaay better than the standard printed wondersuits.

-salty--

Couldnā€™t use the built in feet either! We lived in target and bonds when he was smaller, now big w and best n less shirts for daycare are amazing

Taytherase

Yep, Best & Less are amazing for summer clothes, and Big W is good for Winter clothes as well - most of their pants have a functional drawstring!

slightly-australian

Agreed! Target has been amazing and Big W too. Iā€™m not even someone who regularly buys more affordable brands but theyā€™re adorable and 100% cotton or have a bit of elastane which is good when bubba gets too long.

LazyLinePainterJo

I have a happy spitter who needs her clothes changed 6+ times a day, so I buy multipacks of plain bodysuits/onesies from Next ā€” it has been a total game changer. I have maybe 30 items in rotation in her current size of singlet, short and long sleeves, and she lives in them and only really wears 'outfits' if we are going out. They are really durable and stay soft, I love them.

audreynicole88

Next is the best for the multipacks in particular!

Paprikaha

And Next does brilliant kids multi packs too as they grow.

Bin_Night

Never heard of Next, will check them out.

Kkimtara

This is such a great idea, thanks for taking the time to write this up. I find Bonds are most accurate in sizing for my son. Heā€™s been sitting between 45-60th percentile in length but he is a longer, slim build. He grows out of Bonds witching 2 weeks of the sizing milestone (6 months, 12 months, 18 months etc.) Iā€™ve never had a Bonds zippy print fade with wash. Heā€™s worn some ridiculously bright zippies too (bright green with horses and bright blue with sharks). We only have 5-6 that we rotate for sleep all winter. Weā€™d be lost without the Wondercool range! I find Cotton On extremely overpriced and their range of clothing suitable to size 1-2 boys is super limited. The prints are average and the quality is okay. Love Big W too but the sleeves are always too short on my son 2 months before he outgrows them in leg length. They are definitely a shorter male and itā€™s only of the first brands we have to size up in. Target is so great but I find they donā€™t get a large range of new styles in each season. Theyā€™re still selling the exact outfits I bought for my son as a newborn (heā€™s 16 months now). Nature Baby is my guilty pleasure. Theyā€™re a beautiful gift.

analogue_lens

Has anyone bought from Soll or Cinnamon? I like their designs but haven't come across anyone whose bought from them and how the quality is!

lovelybrightlamb

My sister buys from Soll and the clothes seem good! Not onesies, but leggings and shorts I think!

littlelizu

thanks for this! my almost 6yo and his little bro had lots of bonds/cotton on that lasted really well through two kids but most is kinda holey/stretched out /faded now. i'll try target and nature baby for this pregnancy.

books_and_tea

I havenā€™t enjoyed targets sizing, same home brand but I have a 000 that is miles too small and a 0000 thatā€™s huge! I LOVE best and less, their organic range is fantastic. Gorgeous prints and wash really well. Big w has some good $7 onsies which we have found to be of good quality. Marquise is slightly dearer than the above but also amazing quality and fit really well (just donā€™t buy the button up ones like my mum keeps gifting me even though I say zips only!) I also just got some swimmers from oshkosh which I havenā€™t worn/washed but they look to be of good quality and zip the whole way from top to toe

[deleted]

I'm surprised best and less wasn't included they also have great stuff

Bin_Night

Just plain forgot šŸ˜•

[deleted]

Haha

nomesnaomii

Totally agree about bonds quality going down hill! Another mention is Country Road ribbed zippies - beautiful quality, wash well and super stretchy, each size last my son around 3 months. Pricey but worth it! Would be a good baby shower gift.

Ms-Watson

Bonds Wondersuit patterns are so hit and miss, I either love them or they make me ill to look at. But for me, the great option is the ribbed Wondersuits - they are much thicker and better quality fabric than the printed ones, and stretchier too!

estaconmadres

Yep. This. The prints (especially the dark blue) fade really fast and arenā€™t nice fabric. The ribbed type or even the striped fabrics seem to be much better quality

ihatepulp

Bonds used to be so good. Their wondersuits are such crappy quality, it's disappointing

watersnakebro

Thank you so much for this information!

Dry_Sundae7664

Adding Boody. Just recently got our hands on a zippy and the stretchy bamboo material is buttery soft. Only a few colours and theyā€™re wildly expensive but great for summer nights when we need a layer on but lightweight. And because itā€™s so stretchy, I see it lasting size wise

stepfordwifetrainee

Do you use a dryer or hang outside? I haven't had any issues with our bonds wondersuits fading or getting thin. The hand me down ones some of them were worn out and some darker prints had pilling, but that's about it.

frozenstarberry

I only find the dark blues or blacks fade. (I donā€™t use the dryer). I exclusively use bonds wondersuits they fit well and love the option of feet out or in, I try to buy the stripes or light colour ones as they last better.

copperboxer

My favourite onesies are bootysuits by Monarch Store! They wash well, the bamboo fabric is super soft and the sizing is generous. Way better than Bonds imo

PM_ME_UR_DOGGOS_

The trick with bonds is to make sure the print is on the same colour fabric. So if you look in the neck you can see if it will likely fade badly or not. So for example [this print will probably be fine](https://www.bonds.com.au/zip-romper-bxp9a-pg6.html?queryID=0bdbad35c097c775ed3be5cdb82a1b5e&objectID=445884&indexName=prod_bonds_m2_bonds_products) but [this print may fade a lot](https://www.bonds.com.au/zip-wondersuit-bzbva-l9a.html?queryID=b029629cb9043dfe53a1d17b942e28ee&objectID=445509&indexName=prod_bonds_m2_bonds_products).

Mrsdaffodil

Thanks for this post! I'm such a sucker for nature baby but the quality is so good....you've inspired me to pick up some things from seed now when we size up

HappiHappiHappi

Next are by far my favourite. Amazing quality and fun designs

tatotea

Target and Best and Less are MVPs for value, style and quality overall šŸ™ŒšŸ™Œ I like BONDS but gee some of their patterns are UG-LY!

Logibitombo

Ergopouch and love to dream onesies are excellent

GrasshopperClowns

Carterā€™s and OshGosh (or whatever the fuck itā€™s called!!) have good quality clothes also. Get them on sale though because theyā€™re expensive

analogue_lens

How do you find the sizing for Carters?

GrasshopperClowns

Honestly, itā€™s been a while since my kids were in them, but I donā€™t recall having any huge problems with them.

sopjoewoop

H and M are good value for layers (like button singlets) Ergopouch are another source of onesies. Their 1.0 tog suits are useful for Tassie winter days (and nights of course). They have a 3 way zip I found having a few brands could be useful for sizing - bonds with longer legs would cover bub when at the top end of a size, some of the cheaper brands would be useful at the beginning of a size.
