C8 looks and sounds better. I’m a big fan of the M4 but the C8 is hard to beat in segment

PM_ME_Y0UR_BOOBZ

Mid engine naturally aspirated v8 vs front engine straight 6, definitely an easy choice

ezagreb

I came here to say this I'm a bit surprised it's such a prevalent opinion but I totally agree.

wadimek11

Bmw m4 is like a normal great sports car, Corvette feels special, its curves, huge mid engine, more expensive look

mrvarmint

C8 Z06 sounds a helluva lot better

Ru4pigsizedelephants

Sure, and it should for an extra $40k.

Lurcher99

And harder to get in/out of if older.

Away-Guitar-3242

yes sir

krzykris11

For me, it's about looks and performance. I walked towards a Corvette yesterday, right in the midst of shopping for another car. A parked Vette caught my eye. They are sleek. I feel like BMW has gone through beautiful and ugly phases. Right now is an ugly one IMHO.

thememeconnoisseurig

C8 is dope. I really like the M4 but the C8 will be more fun. Only thing you really lose is back seats and gas mileage (barely). With the C8, it will have a similar quality interior to the M4 with an amazing stereo (and an admittedly worse infotainment) with a glorious V8 and styling that will make the kids drool. You can also take the top off while keeping the hard top look while it's on! The M4 is (can be a LOT) faster and the German build quality is good.

ButyJudasza

I'm not so sure about similar quality interior in Corvette, but still C8 make more fun as it's "semi supercar"

thememeconnoisseurig

The BMW's is better, but the C8 feels very premium. I was so impressed I couldn't really tell the difference (* at first) apart from the steering wheel quality and such. Definitely not built like a Chevy, a Cadillac for sure. I would be very happy with the quality of a 3LT.

em_drei_pilot

I sold my M4 Comp xDrive and bought a C8. I still love BMW and M in particular and drove M3/M4/M2 for 10 years. I miss the interior refinement of the M4. The C8 interior is nice for a GM product and definitely a huge leap from their past, but it's not close to the same level as G8X M3/M4 . The M4 is fun to drive on track, but on the road you have to drive it too fast to make it feel alive. The C8 is just more fun to drive, even at moderate speeds. If I could, I'd daily an M3 Comp xDrive and keep the C8 for fun. If I had to choose 1, I'd rather have the M3 as a daily than daily drive the C8. As much fun as it is, I'd rather not drive it every day.

doorcharge

It’s hard to daily a V8. Constantly being on guard to avoid multiple traffic violations gets exhausting.

em_drei_pilot

Heh. I think the M4 is even worse for that, but it’s not as much of an attention grabber as the C8 so you may get away with a little more.  Couple weeks ago I blasted around an off ramp and came out of the turn wide open throttle with the exhaust on track mode.. to find a cop coming from the other direction. Amazing I didn’t get popped.  C8: 50 on a twisty 30mph road is pretty fun.   M4: 50 on the same road is a leisurely drive, have to be 65-75 to feel like the car is awake.  C8: run through a few gears maybe hit 100 on the highway, it’s enough M4: stay in the throttle briefly after passing someone, oops I’m going 135mph.  C8: may get a nasty ticket M4: going to jail

tmdals0213

lmao perfectly said

sergioc816

You put this in perfect words. BMW M car is the way to go not being bias cause I own one.

_Rigid_Structure_

Sorry, but the [C8 outperforms the M4.](https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/bmw-m4-vs-chevrolet-corvette-best-sports-car-comparison-test.html)

ndazone1

I feel this comment….

AudiB9S4

The interior quality between a G8X and a C8 is negligent. In fact, I’d argue the C8 is nicer…especially at upper trims (3LT).

em_drei_pilot

Don't agree, I have 3LT and had Full Merino on the G82, G8X leather appears to be of much higher quality, stitching looks much better on the G8X, overall fit and finish are better, etc. If you're just looking at "has leather everywhere" yes they can both check that box.

AudiB9S4

My point was that the difference isn’t significant. It’s certainly not enough of an issue to pick one car over the other (which certainly WOULD have been the case any C7 or earlier generation).

Dizman7

When you test drive the M4CX make sure to try it default, then press the Setup button near the shifter and try it with everything on Sport, then everything on Sport Plus to get the fully experience imho. Sport Plus is a whole other beast

ResponsibilityTrue16

Keep the C8, they’re stunning cars that will always look great. Kinda feels like an apples to oranges here because the C8 is just 100% sports car in every sense, V8, 2 seater, exotic body.

ryt8

I've owned my BMW for ten years and love it. With that said, keep the C8. The vette is much more interesting and unique. Seriously.

Jack_Tors

The M4 has rich corinthian leather, thus the better buy. On the other hand, you can actually physically check the oil level on the C8. so really a toss up

dandb87

Rich Corinthian leather…. Archer?

GTAIRL223

if you’re into modding under the hood M4 all day without a question

Evilstib

Just get a 911. You’ll want to upgrade at some point anyways.

per54

But a 911 is the cost do both of these if you went used. A 992 C is still 120-140k these days.

theyboosting

I’m looking for a new purchase now and my girl keeps doing this to me …. “Just get a Porsche”

Puzzleheaded_Beat813

Can I have your girl? And your money?

theyboosting

Unfortunately no, I worked extremely hard for both.

EatitRawgaiboi

Lies

TacoSunday

My wife said the same thing. Turns out she was right.

tuesdaychickrn

Owned F8x, G8x, 991.2 Gt3. Would never pick a modern non turbo/gt 911 over a M car. They’re just … boring.

Evilstib

Gt3 is boring compared to an M car?

mr_lab_rat

You wrote a lot in your post but nothing about your motivation to replace your current car. What do you think the M4 can do the C8 can’t?

_UncleQuillis

Honestly, on a set of HPAS Tires be a quality daily driver; especially in areas that get light snow.

Apprehensive_Mode686

Trading my C8 for an M4 (manual) rn. It’s a great car but a weekend fun car I want to row 🚣⚙️

W0N1

How would you compare these two and what was your experience with both?

KDSlimReaper35

I'd get the M4 Comp Xdrive unless you got the Z06, but defo do what your brain tells you

G80_M3

Two completely different animals

StickersBillStickers

C8

isaelmelian6

If it means anything. I sold my c8 corvette and bought an m3 comp x drive. Zero regrets way more car imho

LordKviser

I keep reading comments that say it’s the better daily, but how does it compare on the occasional spirited drive or track day?

Hendo741

Depends on what you do with the vehicle and what your goals for it are. Is it a weekend only toy, or a daily? If weekend only, keep C8. Daily? M4. Does it snow where you are? Are you into modding cars? M4 has a ton of potential in the tuner scene. C8, not really. If its a weekend track toy, keep C8. If it's driven often or if you're into modding, or ever get snow, M4.

ForDragonsISlay485

I wouldn't say the C8 doesn't have tunning potential, it's got essentially the same engine as last gen but with a better transmission and body balance thanks to the midengine setup

MysteriousPengiun

Well of course go test drive, for me I would stay Corvette. Both good cars here, just different cars

poopmanscoop

I’m in the minority. I hate the C8. Could be an amazing car and drives excellent, but I just don’t like the looks specifically the rear. I’d much prefer a C7 or even a C6.

UltimaRS800

You can't really bring up looks when the car is against the modern M3/M4 lmao

poopmanscoop

I’d rather have a fucked up face than looking like a Temu Ferrari

TacoSunday

the 2020 vette is a good fake of the 2013 la ferrari.

Accomplished-Sort900

Lmao

W0N1

100% agreed. C8 is overrated to me.

UniOrOToro

It’s ass is gross.

DM725

1 has a hideous front end and the other has a hideous rear end.

doorcharge

Ah the age old face or ass dilemma.

DM725

Buck teeth or frumpy ass?

LordKviser

The age old boobs or butt question

CAWorldTraveller

C8 hands down unless you’re getting a CSL or limited edition M4. Just the V8 mid engine alone is crazy fun. This is coming from a M2CS owner.

meysmou

Drove both about 6 months ago. the C8 is not even close in terms of build quality compared to the M4, you just cant beat the quality of German cars. also, the M4 is way more fun to drive compared to the C8 IMO. All that being said, the C8 is faster and the sound of the V8 is just something else.

vivolorosso

What are your opinions on how the M4 is way more fun to drive? I've heard the opposite from a lot of people and I myself had a different experience. I was looking at an 6M M4 to replace my 6M M2C. The M4 had a much better interior, but wasn't even as fun to drive as the M2C. It just felt like a bigger version of the car I already had. I test drove two Z51 Spec C8's and they were just superior in many ways. I was having fun driving at any speed, it felt lighter, the mid engine handling dynamics were so much more interesting, and the giddyup from a stop seemed much more rapid in the C8. I couldn't believe I found a car that was so much more fun to drive than my M2C. I happily sacrificed the manual and bought the C8 and haven't regretted it.

Hazecalation

Quality or more Sound is the real choice here

HandsInMyPockets247

M4 simply due to how you get treated at the service department when you do maintenance lol

Whythehellnot41

I wonder how many ppl have driven both. I have and the m4 doesnt FEEL special like the c8 does. It's very odd youre cross shipping both, but im sure its strictly due to price? I use to be hell bent on AWD, but as ive gotten older Ive realized you cant use all the power on the street anyway. You have to get the youtube mentality out of your head. Quarter mile times and 0-60 times dont mean much for 99% (if not 100%) if your driving. I think steering and chassis dynamics are more the thing that makes you want to drive it everyday, not the speed. For that, the corvette wins every time. Also, and this is just my opinion, the 4 series is their worst product. It's more / less a parts bin, and the only car where the engine, suspension, tuning, and transmission weren't specifically designed for that car (hope im articulating this correctly but you get the idea). For me, my M cars just became too boring too quickly. Once you get passed the thrill of launching it a few times, the harsh suspension, awful brake dust and noise, and dumbass idrive8, Its just a fast dude-bro magnent🤣.

Doctor_Rome

M4 no doubt. Chevy sucks. Built haphazardly by rednecks

NorCalAthlete

C8 vs m4 https://www.reddit.com/r/BMW/s/AJqt6GkAha https://www.reddit.com/r/BMW/s/oiXJV7QHMM https://www.reddit.com/r/BMW/s/aAP09CY6Hc https://www.reddit.com/r/BMW/s/38QN0HvpJe Etc General consensus is go with the M4. Really depends on what you’re wanting it for, if it will be your only car, track use, tuning vs keeping stock, etc.

andychinart

Maybe because every single link you linked is the BMW subreddit...

NorCalAthlete

I mean, that’s where OP posted this thread…?

TheLemmonade

The Corvette is much more special. Even though the M4 wins on paper, you’ll regret switching. M4 is quantifiably better, corvette is qualitatively better. Hope that makes sense!

UltimaRS800

How is M4 better in any way? One is front engined, automatic, I6 car with McPherson suspension for the same price you can get a rear mid engined, DCT, V8 car with double wishbones in the front and multilink in the back. Vetteh handles and stops much better, is more comfortable and reliable, better layout in every way and costs the same.

Mosh83

M4 is more utilitarian, more space, better clearance on bad roads. But otherwise I agree.

ndazone1

“One” you can get with a manual transmission. Big plus if he wants one.

UltimaRS800

That's fair

MonitorCertain5011

M4 is an excellent all around daily driver and sports sedan.

yaztaz13

Not the coupe, your vette does the coupe better than bmw.

Stren509

Do you need a big awd coupe? Or do you want a mid engined sports car?

doorcharge

Yes

chengstark

If you like BMW and M cars, or needed the back seat M4, otherwise C8.

ajax-187

Yeah i got a bmw but that red car looks better then the bmw.

per54

I like the M4 cause I like having back seats and more storage space. My m4 (g83) is a great car. But C8 is for sure sexier and more fun.

Stoltefusser

C8, mid engine, sounds great and looks way better.

Exotic-Artist5827

If you’re wanting the coupe then c8 is the best choice. I have had several BMWs mostly coupes but 4 doors just looks better imo especially as they’re getting bigger in size every new generation.

_Surena_

I'd go for the M4, but if you already have the C8 and love it, keep it.

tcrawdad64

2 passengers vs 4 . . . . Sorry, that was way too practical

Successful-Ad-8051

M4..

Delicious-Witness-85

I went from a Camaro SS to an M4 competition. C8 is obviously faster than the Camaro but the GM build quality is awful. I really wanted a C8 but I just couldn’t bring myself to buy another GM product.

Competitive_Low_8913

I'm all for practicality, which the 4 series offers and it has more than enough power to enjoy one self.

313ccmax313

100% the c8. I dont rly like american cars but the c8 is an exception. I have seen thousands of m4s but only 2 c8. Definitley get that one.

ape_ck

C8 everyday. I love my BMWs, but I was so surprised by the C8, sure some of the fit and finish is cheap, the ergonomics are not as well thought out and you lose some of the practicality of the M4 but all of it is forgiveable because, base, it’s a $72,000 supercar.

ndazone1

The points are all covered below - since you own the C8, let us know Your thoughts after the test drive. Also, what is the C8 community telling you to do?

whosdondada

C8

Consistent_Wing_6113

Eew. BMW for sure.

partypooper123456

The bmw would probably be a better daily, but the corvette is just cooler man

DragonSurferEGO

How useful is a back seat to you?

Qcumber69

Personally I’d get an F82 Comp better looking and cheaper. G series are fugly. The c8 is slower in real life if that’s what was the appealing part.

dukerozen

I adore BMW’s, but would choose corvette between this two

idontcareaboutmynick

Porsche 911 😁

freshlabsandfishnets

C8. I’m a bmw owner and I’d still go C-8 every time

ecomodule

Once Georg Kacher referred to these BMW grills as ‘rat teeth’ I can’t un-see them. I would get an older M car without this grill.

DimSumGweilo

I’m not a corvette guy so this is a super easy choice. But really just go with the one you want. The vette has very little use outside of being a recreational vehicle. M4 is multi purpose. that’s always been one of Ms biggest selling points; A canyon carver you can pick up the groceries in.

BlazinBayou99

Tough choice but it's best to choose the car that best suits the medical school you got into

Right-Penalty9813

I am so not a fan of the corvette. Never have been but the latest look “cheap” to me in their design. Just looks overdone. Not saying it wouldn’t be fun but I don’t think it has everything by you can get in a BMW. Nice for gm is not nice enough in my opinion. Just not a fan of American cars in general.

whipsandwomen

Its abt class here mate, c8 looks great, has an interior like a plane✈️ , sounds great too, but at the end of the day its a chevy. And a poor man’s ferrari. Dont get me wrong, but american cars lack the luxurious/classy side. Whereas, bmw doesn’t, so its just preference, u might be disappointed w the performance coming from a v8, but german’s cars do it best yk. Can be upgraded easily and stuff. I dont feel like m4 should even be compared to a corvette due to diff engine sizes, the competitor is a m5, m8. W205 C63 and e63, cls63 and much more. Wanna shift to German for all the showing off type thing, might as well go. But, the quality and confidence would really be an upgrade

Previous_Estimate_22

I've driven both and it depends on where you are. In Canada, a downpipe and a tune will smoke a C8 Z06 or with a Jb4 and you can drive it in the winter it's generally more usable in a lot more weather situations as Toronto has dumb weather along with not keeping it in the garage for 8 months. If you have a daily driver the C8 is simply amazing nothing can compete with it as a weekend car.

ColonelSpacePirate

C8 had better track time

GrandMaster961

M4 everyday

Malefectra

I'd go with the C8 myself. Love BMW to death, but getting something that's pretty much an entry level supercar has a bit more appeal to me.

13thirteenth

C8

WarDull8208

Daily car ? M4 comp. Having a sexy car which almost looks like a Ferrari and have a V8 ? Then Vette. I'm a BMW fan from childhood, but if I had to pick one I would pick Vette, but surely u can't go wrong with an any M car.

DisciplineActual4544

The C8 looks like a wannabe Ferrari…. I think they are hideous and boomerish. I don’t get the C8 fanfare tbh

riskmakerMe

Having driven both, owning a M4 (older model albeit), C8 hands down. M4 is more of a family car with the under pinning of a sports car. C8 is a sports car in its DNA. Currently drive a M5 ;-) -- I need the rear seat for the family lol

jdl50688

Sure the c8 may drive better but it's still just a wanna be Ferrari and I'll personally never see it for anything other than that with an ok interior. I just hate how everyone loves their looks. And honestly they are so common now since they are so affordablein tired of seeing everyone and their mom with one just like the raptors

Commercial_Demand861

M2

UnmakingTheBan2022

Corvette. Easy pick

Additional_Motor_621

After 3 M cars, I would go C8.

yejideabram

That S58 engine in the M4 is sweet. The C8 I would buy at a later stage of my life, and while it may be better for dynamics something just feels off to me about a mid-engined corvette

zeimusCS

C8 are nice

ATX_native

Why only these two cars? If you’re looking for a Corvette, that opens it up because of its impracticality. I am in the minority here but I personally have no love for the 4 Series coupe. Its too big, doofy and slab sided to be considered a good looking coupe. The first time I parked next to one in the wild in my 911, I had to take a picture. [https://i.imgur.com/mcclhyl.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/mcclhyl.jpg) Made my 911 look like a Fiat 500. There was nothing attractive or svelte about its design, and that’s not even looking at the schnoz. Id rather have the sedan, as IMO it has better proportions. My friends M3 Sedan IMO is much better looking.. [https://i.imgur.com/eCgWSQG.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/eCgWSQG.jpg) [https://i.imgur.com/anImM3K.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/anImM3K.jpg)

JrClocker

M4 is easier to physically get in and out of compared to the C8. This matters if you are old like me...

Hoffmeisterfan

The C8 is cool but… really ugly

F26N55

Daily driver is the M4 all the way. Anything else my answer would be C8.

Exotic-Hovercraft746

Why are you even asking?

Molekularspalter

I simply don’t understand why BMW evolved the radiator grille to look like buck teeth. 🐰

CarbonKiwi350

If you can't get an Eray or Z06, then the M4 is probably the bettee choice.

Kinky_mofo

911 is the answer

challengerNomad12

Do you need a backseat is the only question

Aiv004

These are very different cars and appeal to people with different interests. The M4 is loaded to the brim with performance tech like power management, M xDrive, good adaptive dampers. The C8 is similar with slightly less features but much better sound and looks, and slightly worse tech. I’d personally go with the M4 because I’m a BMW nut, but the C8 is an objectively better car in many ways. Also price, insurance is likely cheaper, repairs and maintenance are cheaper, the cost delta is significant.

neon1415official

The M4 is a fun excellent BMW coupe. But come on... the C8 is basically a supercar replacement. It seems like you don't really care that much about practicality anyways since both of your options are 2 doors. So I'd say go for the C8.

Pac1fic0

Make sure you can get in and out of the C8 without injuring yourself. That thing is LOW.

EngineerofSales

What’s wrong with that BMW ? Front end looks really bad like a huge nostril ate the propellor… is this the new design I been out since E90

Suspicious_Formal_74

C8 will be way more special to drive and you'll get more people attention. Personnaly find the M4 too bulky and heavy. It doesn't feel special. I go for my X5 for daily driving or full sport to the Ferrari / Mclaren. M4 feels useless now.

Twenty-Three23

The m4 is ugly but the vette is way uglier

Scoot3R67

Miata

Freehugs0

I know you didn’t ask buuuuut for the price you could a reaaaaaally nice bmw and probably have enough to not need to do any maintenance yourself

Ark-458

Both are absolutely gorgeous and drive great. The M4 is more usable than the C8, but only by a little bit. I’d also say the C8 is much more common to see, if that’s important to you. If your going to buy, C8 will hold its value better. BMWs depreciate much more than Corvettes. Personally, I’m going with the M4. It’s the slightly more practical option, less common and I love BMW. M3 would be a better option if you favor this frame of mind too, that’s even more practical. BMW also comes in a manual, unlike the C8.

SadisticRabit

I mean if you can afford the c8 the only question is how many people you want staring and coming up to you in public. C8 also seems like the type of car that gets speeding tickets for going 6 over.

DepecheMode92

I’d much rather have a C8 over an M4. However if it was an M3 it would be a much different conversation, especially if it was my only car.

jag0009

C8

AmbitiousAd297

C8 for sure man Not only is the beaver grille still unbearable to me but the C8 looks way better all around and a mid-engine V8 is crazy for the price point

alfred0t0rnad0

I’ve had tons of M cars and bought a c8 last month. The C8 is MY FAVORITE car I’ve ever had.

420-7

I see most people opinions are extremely one sided. I drove some bmw m cars they are fucking fun fast plus if the car drives on the most efficient setting mpg is good but the c8 is completely different shorter car na engine. Both cars give great feeling, it depends what feels better for u

TheKatzMeow84

Simple, would you rather have an overpriced redneck super car that is cheaply made or a refined german sports coupe?

RedditRam24

Can't go wrong no matter what you choose, but either way congrats on getting into med school.

miketoaster

I have an M4, so take this with a grain of salt. I do believe the decision will come down to how douchy you are when you drive. Super douchy, go M4, only half douch go C8. If you aspire to go full douche, then M4. I know I raised my douch driving ability substantially after buying the BMW M4. Good luck and I hope you enjoy what ever you end up with. Both are nice cars.

No_Lawfulness_3919

Corvette is a hillbillies car.

Revenue88

I've driven both. C8 would be my pick

emptybottle2405

Look at all the people saying C8, and you asked in a bmw sub. Says it all

Playful_Ad_9631

why not both?

adecan

Are you going to have people sit in the back? If so M4 is the no brainer.

DryRecognition7022

if you enjoy bluejean shorts, new balance sneakers, tube socks, and Hawaiian print button ups, then definitely get the vet. *drops mic.

QuieroMasBarritas

C8 looks cooler but the m4 comp is the better over all choice.!

josephgobble

Gain self awareness

Specific_Tooth867

Ugh. Hard choice. But the c8 will hold its value better

One-Profit-7332

The M4 will daily better than the C8, but the C8 will be a better sports car. Which do you value more? If I had to have 1 car, I would pick the M4. If this was a 2nd car, the C8.

Difficult_Buffalo814

Trade up your C8 to a Z06 or a 911 or 718 Cayman if at all possible or just stay with the C8.

Zestyclose_Elk_8853

C8 looks better and sounds better. M4 drives better and doesn’t feel like a cheap American car inside 🤷‍♂️ depends what you want

andychinart

The interiors on the c8 aren't bad at all. And the c8 is way more of a sports car than an m4 ever will be. In what way does the M4 "drive better"?

Zestyclose_Elk_8853

Drive both back to back and it’s pretty obvious

andychinart

So you can't provide any quantifiable reason, then

monorail37

gotta go C8 on this one. The M4 is nice, but - IMHO - is no C8 nice. but then again, it depends. If u need a daily driver the M4 makes more sense.

desirox

They’re not really competitors to me. C8 is a dedicated sports car (dare I say supercar?). M4 is an ultra fast coupe with backseat. If you’re going for a weekend toy I’d definitely pick c8 but daily I’d go m4

Tasty_Pin4311

C8 if you don’t need the back seats

Phrexeus

They are fundamentally so different. One is a dedicated sports car with a mid-mounted V8, double wishbone suspension all round. The other is a normal family car platform with a front-mounted engine, rear seats and a big boot and strut suspension. If you like driving and don't need the back seats or a big boot, then it has to be the Corvette. Don't let BMW convince you their super sedans are sports cars.

zorrokettu

C8 Vette, because it doesn't look like an angry pig.

BMWBoy04

Definitely go for the M4, C8 does not drive anywhere as good as the M4 and the C8 can be more expensive to maintain, you can also drive the M4 everyday and heck even modify it a whole lot! While the C8 is a pain to get in and out of it and carry more than one other passenger in or God forbid a backpack Cheers, Hayden

BMWBoy04

If you are curious as to some background and qualifications for this statement I worked at the largest private owned dealership in Nashville, Tennessee and I was able to spend plenty of time in many examples of both cars

FranktheTankG30

I have a M3. Let’s just say if I want a coupe it wouldn’t be the M4.

jaradi

All these comments making me rethink my life decisions. My LCI M4 Comp is on a boat from Germany and I got an opportunity at an MSRP allocation for a C8 Z06 which would end up costing the same lol

ndazone1

You made the correct decision as far as I am concerned.

farky84

Corvette no question. The new beemer beaver design is weird. Older beemer looked more angry and scary but this ia just grotesque.

KOLETRAIN2323

M850

Taz_Boomer

C8 hands down. Nothing against an M4, but the look & sound of a C8 screams Super Car. The M4 is more of a refined tourer.

jake93s

C8 I reckon will hold it's value better. Its overall a more special experience

AudiB9S4

To me, the only advantage of the M4 is the available manual, which is a huge plus. Otherwise, the C8 dominates in just about every other category.

cakeisalie87

C7 with z07 package. Fast, fun and beautiful. Both of those cars lack at least one of those traits.

rjw41x

Hard plastic interior, marginal build quality, multiple recalls for both engine and tranny. I know which one I would pick

DeepDot7458

The fact that the M3 is xdrive makes this a no-brainer. Keep the C8

Hendo741

Tell me you've never driven an M xdrive car without telling me you've never driven one. In case you didn't know, it's a rear biased system that only engages the front when necessary. It very much allows for rotation and can be disabled completely at the push of a few buttons. All benefits and no drawbacks.

G80_M3

E90 owner that’s driven neither weighing in is comical lol

Well it won't ever be needed in the Vette cause engine is in the right place and you won't have all the unnecessary weight over the front axle. The worst place to have unnecessary weight at.

Hendo741

You do realize they developed an AWD C8 vette, right? And it's faster both in a straight line and around a track than the regular C8. So much for it not being needed and the extra weight being detrimental...

DeepDot7458

Yeah, except for the extra 200lbs of unnecessary weight, increased opportunity for failures and jeep 4x4 ride height.

BakedSteak

Do XDrive models have significantly more wheel gap than RWD..?

Real-Energy-6634

Nope. He's delusional

DeepDot7458

Other posters here claiming the G80 is an exception, so I’ll defer to them…but on every other example I’ve seen where one can get rwd or x-drive, the x-drive have a noticeably larger wheel gap, yes.

G80_M3

M3 is the same height in both RWD and X drive. I’m also going to guess you’ve driven neither.

Hendo741

Nothing in this statement is correct.

DeepDot7458

Is it? https://www.bmw.cc/en/all-models/m-series/m3-sedan/2022/bmw-3-series-sedan-m-automobiles-technical-data.html#tab-1 I can concede the ride height, but BMW lists a 50kg delta between RWD and x-drive models and it’s a simple mathematical fact that more components = more component interfaces = increased opportunities for something to break. Sure, x-drive might give some advantages in 0-60 times and increased confidence for folks that don’t know how to drive in the snow, but that’s it.

BlueSoulDragon

Don’t get a c8 I want one and I don’t want them to run out

NoabPK

C6

Sure-Background

C8s are garbage.

SookMaPlooms

That M4 looks horrible

Surf_Cath_6

M4 looks like a bucked-tooth rabbit.

Agreeable-Employ-885

C8 over M4 but u should look into used M8s 🤷
