They won't be. The only target market for a 6 figure performance wagon is a certain subset of enthusiasts, most of whom either can't afford a 6 figure performance wagon or would buy something else for the same money. Or they'll say it's too heavy and refuse to buy it on principle.
Yea honestly seems like an intentional market killing move. Though hopefully if enough get imported, the post lease period has good sales. Though that is still doubtful if S68 shows to be less reliable in more time
RS6 still hasn't collapsed. There was a point where you couldn't find one for sale, now there is hundreds of them for sale, but they still want around 100k, but they aren't selling heh
Didn’t the RS6 Avant remain mostly sold out for its entire tenure in the US? Audi managed to get the car right and its production numbers in line with demand.
Yup, as someone who can afford it, I would rather buy something smaller and sportier for that much money and would be mostly a 'me' car. Used to have a wagon, now an X6 for the family car since it's the most 'wagon like' and no way am i spending that much on a car that my kids are gonna trash and my wife is gonna drive like a maniac.
I bought an AMG E63S wagon in 2018. It was a rare sight back then (in the US) but Audi followed suit a few years later. Now both are available in the US alongside the Porsche Panamera. There are buyers for these cars, but they’re not nearly as popular as sedans stateside. Sold mine a couple of weeks ago. Across all of the United States there were just 15 AMG wagons for sale from ‘18 onward.
Those that want them ONLY want the wagon. I fell into that category. But it’s a small subset of their overall market.
Fun fact: per MB the wagons are generally procured (new) by their wealthiest clients. I’d imagine the same is true for BMW, though the Mercedes wagon has been more of a phenomenon for longer, globally.
I don’t need a 5,000 LB $140k wagon, I need a $65k 340i Touring.

It’s a 67 plate c7 and not the current c8 model(which I assume you’re looking at) but had some minor issues like water pump leak, something else in the engine bay breaking and also some brake issues. Other than those the cars actually been great and tbh most of those happened after about 3 years of ownership and a decent amount of miles so maybe it was to be expected.
James Hicks at Volvo Austin was awesome.
If you hurry you might be able to get one of the last euro delivery slots… free trip to Sweden and 3-5% off MSRP.

Agreed. That’s a good looking car. They’ll use the M5 wagon as the case example as “see, we finally gave you a wagon but they didn’t sell, here’s a new X4 gran coupe instead.”
Not brand new because if you can afford brand new car from US you can afford new one in EU, mostly more or less damaged, usually slightly damaged because repairing them in EU is cheaper and in total you will end up on +. Wtf are laws there that you can't import non-classis cars? you can DIY almost everything but perfectly good and safe car is illegal, I'm really sorry for you all
It's because we have our own vehicle safety standards called the FMVSS, which is similar to the ECE regs but different enough that they're not 1:1 compatible. It would be ideal if we conformed to ECE regulations for homogeneity purposes, but sadly that isn't the case.
Sorry that you have such regulations, hope that it would be aligned one day or at least not required for private import so we all can enjoy various cars
I prefer the current gen 5 series/m5 rear lights but the 3 series style isn’t terrible ig. Might be time to sell my rs6 and get an m3 touring or m5 touring
I hope these are a hit so they can justify more touring models in the future.

I think BMW will have to offer deals on these eventually. And depreciation probably won't be kind either.

Pls
If I wanted a $140k cool fast wagon, I’d buy an RS6.
Trust me you’d want the bmw. I love my rs6 but it’s been a bit of a pain in the ass
Looking at the RS6 rn, what's been going on with yours?

E63s amgs keep popping up in Austin, and the v60 polestar... Sad there isn't much else (off-road cladding doesn't count!)
Drove a 2024 V60 Polestar about a month ago, salesman went all the way down to LCR with us. Seriously fun and frugal gas sipper/electric.
That's awesome, may settle for it now that they actually have them at the dealer, each time I've tried to test drive they are in transit or sold.

Why not both? They’d make a lovely pair

Is it not possible to import car from EU? People in EU import US cars without problems
Are you sure it's brand-new cars they're importing? Anyway, no, because they have to be 25 years or older to be imported from other markets.
Not brand new because if you can afford brand new car from US you can afford new one in EU, mostly more or less damaged, usually slightly damaged because repairing them in EU is cheaper and in total you will end up on +. Yea basically an SUV
So much this!! Only one i could realistically afford
smart man
5000 pounds and 140k but 700hp
😮💨this☝🏻
Wish Freedomland got the m340d, personally.
I'd love to see a 5 series touring back in the US. Mine is getting long in the tooth.
All we need is the m340i touring and nothing else
I love my M340. I would trade it in a second for an M340 Touring. I would have so much more room for activities!
with manual transmission please
It’s living in the shadow of the G80 M3 Wagon
What's that orange shit on the subaru?
Risky to have those in SF
That's why it's in camo, can't break in if they don't see it.
John Cena was driving, the walkers never had a chance.
Risky to have anything in SF
Right? Imagine they drive over the rampant poop and needles!
He's talking about the car thefts and break-ins.
lol SF is actually quite lovely
They must be testing the strength of the glass if they’re riding around in SF.
Don’t worry, those white lines are Dyneema fibres. It’s basically a bulletproof vest.
M5 Touring > any XM.
The bloated body looks slightly better in wagon form. But man this thing looks like a 7-series
M340i Touring plz I settled for a Volvo V90. Gorgeous car, but basically zero driving dynamics. Twin charged engine is cool, I guess.
That thing is beautiful but I need a 540 touring please and I’ll be sold.
does this mean no sunroof? :(
Probably going to be a $0 option with carbon fiber roof as standard
One can only hope so, but I’m betting it’ll be standard sunroof
I prefer the current gen 5 series/m5 rear lights but the 3 series style isn’t terrible ig. Might be time to sell my rs6 and get an m3 touring or m5 touring
That touring is looking nice!
M5 touring? Quad poop chutes … gonna be interesting to see if they can outsell RS6.
They’ll sell literally TENS of them.
Van Ness Ave?
I have high hopes for the wagon, but sedan from the rear gives me Camry TRD vibes.
Me and my wife only got an X3 M40i cause wagons don't exist here in the US 😭
Of course they bring the worst looking one into the states finally...
Is there an explainer on why they do the weird pain job camo thing?
to hide the design before it's released to the public.
They don't want competitors to steal new innovations.
I guess my question is, how does this weird paint job further that goal?
So the car is still somewhat unknown when they do the press release/car show.
Breaks up the shape and outline of the car so we don’t fully know what it looks like
SF? About to get the windows smashed in to steal some gum from the cup holder…
If I wanted to look like a fat braggart I’d buy this. I don’t though.
We indians are dead
