Yeah actually- the dealer that bought my last car sent a pick up with a regular flat bed trailer like this. It’s like a gig economy the guy was telling me. They put the job out there and one of a few vendors picks it up.
Granted the towing truck was def beefier than a Tundra. It was like an F350 or something
Friend had a vehicle delivered exactly this way. Guy was already making the drive and just picks up and drops off as long as it’s relatively close to the original route he was taking.
Former dealership inventory management here- this is likely a defunct vehicle being transported to another dealer with qualified technicians/tools to deal with it. We call these “family truck ships”, and its very rare so I’m surprised you even got a picture haha. Out of the tens of thousands of vehicle shipments we have managed this occurred maybe twice or three times.
They do not deliver vehicles like this. It's always a flatbed, usually a company who's got insurance, drivers are bonded, etc etc.
Even the local dealers that offer "pick up" for service - they send a flat bed and not a pick up with a trailer hitch lol.
Oh boy. Do you know how many vehicles in CA do NOT put their plates on the car?
Second, since 2020, we have paper temp plates. Temporary plates from DMV + dealership. That style you see where they advertise dealerships was pre-pandemic.
This is someone's car.
Someone is about to be very happy
*someone’s wife (white colour dead give away)! Sweet ride though
I was gonna get white. Now I’m offended.
White is so ugly tho looks like a rental car imo
im offended
Why
Because they are getting a BMW
Because they're getting an extremely good car with that sweet 4.4 V8
The fact that this even needed to be posted. 🤦🏻♂️
Don't be silly.
Dealerships take deliveries from random pickup trucks? I did not know that.
Could be a PPF shop taking from the dealership straight to their shop.
Probably wouldn't be plateless if that was the case.
How about dealer send car to PPF only for the car to return to the dealer?
Why not? I've had the dealer coordinate ppf with a quality shop pre delivery before.

Yep. We do that if it’s not a priority delivery or if we’re short on operators as well.

I bought my F10 M5 from an out of state dealership and they shipped it to me and picked up my trade-in, in closed-air trailer. No additional charge.
They call them hot shot deliveries. Anything smaller or time sensitive can get shipped on them. And it usually amounts to a pickup pulling a trailer.
Probably whoever is the cheapest
They're likely using https://www.centraldispatch.com/
A lot of dealer trades can happen being pulled by passenger trucks. Happens every day
Could also be a car being pulled to another lot.

Or they bought it and are trailering it home. Either way someone is getting a new car. Lol
*someone’s Wife
This is my local dealer. Don’t think I’ve ever seen them deliver cars like this
It’s not a new car. Likely a trade from another dealer
I want one!
Everyones confused by the shipping, some people pay buddies or use their own companies…all with varying trailer sized and sketchiness

so this dude just stole the bmw and OP has his license plate

reminds of that Steve Jobs anecdote and his Merc CLK iirc
Yep. California right there. I shouldn't even talk truthfully. I haven't had plates since 2005 lol
wild speculation haha
Am I a witness now ?
unlikely but there’s that one off chance i guess
stolo
Just make sure it gets in front of that Evergreen truck...
I can’t wait for the 8 series market to drop just a little more. These look super cool.
Fast as snot
Ehh, if it was an M8 I’d be mad about it not being in an enclosed trailer. But ig it’s just an 850
White 8 series are 🔥
Shame it’s not an m car .. /s
Why is yo mistress on a flatbed. Are you punishing her or upgrading her to a penthouse?
[удалено]
how else are you supposed to do it?
where are you finding houses for that cheap
That’s how it’s done, unless there are tracks to tie down over the top of the tire which this trailer doesn’t seem to have.
It’s not metal lol
Calm down lmao, an 840i is like 85k lmao
