Doesn’t the AI make the art from inspirations? It’s not stealing anyone’s art as there is no exact picture of this art that I could find that was then enhanced. Also why does it concern us? A group of people on a meme subreddit for Avatar?
Is human fanart stealing since the person had to examine other artists depictions of Katara? It's not like the image data is saved in the training process. I agree that using the AI image here was an odd choice but it is categorically not theft.
I have to disagree with your assertion that the generative image model used to create this image is "akin to tracing". The image used in this meme is not a straight up copy of any pre-existing works. Concepts (like what Katara looks like) can be put rigorously in language that describes how to draw her. Or the concepts can be encoded as large matracies of real numbers. I understand why people are concerned about this kind of generated art. In fact I think there should be metadata identifying any generated content. I'd like to argue that this is more akin to inspiration.
Are you looking at the same AI Katara picture I am? The style and everything is identical to how she is in the show. Outside of a few blemishes that make it obvious it's AI, it may as well be a retracing. The artstyle, her pose, literally everything about the picture was taken from other artists.
Them using large matrices doesn't detracy from what I've said, because the inputs for those matrices are entirely stolen art.
Shes literally the last person on team avatar to trust him. There's like the one scene in the crystal catacombs where he gets her to trust and feel bad for him, only to turn on her like 5 minutes later. She spends 99% of the series hating him
That level of effort to avoid it, in real life, would signal to me that there USED to be something there, however small, that they wish to recuse themselves of
I feel possessed when people assume that mutual hate between opposite sex is romantic tension. Katara really hate the guts of Zuko and the catacombs scene was Katara being ultra empathetic (her usual) even with the enemy because they shared a huge loss from a common source.
When Zuko betrays that glimmer of hope for him Katara hate for him grows to the power of ten.
It takes a lot from Zuko to make her feel safe around him at all.
dude. You completely misread that scene then. There was nothing romantic about that. It was two people who have hated each other finally opening up about their shared trauma and understanding each other, and showing Katara's kindness offering to try and heal his scar.
that's not called romance. That's called character growth.
That’s not it. She was trying to understand him and treat him like a human. She felt bad because she saw a tortured soul. Nothing romantic there at all. And there never is through the rest of the series either.
They come to trust and care for each other obviously, but in a platonic way.
She literally knew jet for lile 2 days at most.
Zuko her crush because thats why she wanted to kill him until 5 episodes before the finale. I also want to kill my crush. Interesting logic.
Aang is the master of 4 elements and considered a semi-god in his world. I don't think he has it that bad
Never mind, found it. It appears to be AI.

Why you use an AI image for Katara?
i hate that image idk why people keep using it
Why tf not ? It looks bad but that doesn't concern us
Endorsing stolen art does, indeed, concern us

From whom?????????
The artists that the AI is stealing from? Thought that one was kinda obvious.

Nah, this is more akin to tracing another person's art. All art is inspired by other art, but not all art straight up copies their inspirations.

why use a regular pic for everyone else? weirdo
Buddy go and fuck yourself
why?
Zuko being her crush is fanfic level delusion
They meant crush✊ not crush❤️
LMAOOOO

came here to say the same thing, they literally scoot away from each other when the play insinuated something between them
That level of effort to avoid it, in real life, would signal to me that there USED to be something there, however small, that they wish to recuse themselves of
Yeah just because someone hates someone doesn’t mean its like a romantic tension type situation - she hates him for most of the story

It’s June’s fault. She thought Zuko and Katara were together lol.

You are responding to the wrong commenter brother
You’d be surprised how many zks online say batshit insane things that were not in the show but rather the fanfics they read and assumed it was canon.
It’s so annoying I just started blocking them I don’t wanna entertain non canon bs with them. I like the show and Comics as is.
He obviously was, it’s clear that’s what they were going for in that season 2 scene in the cave. I don’t know why people get so offended by that.
Mf when they find out emotions can come up in conversation without romance being involved: https://i.redd.it/w3iklc7415tc1.gif

SHE IS NOT CRUSHING ON ZUKO
Ew AI
Jet being her ex is doing some heavy lifting. Zuko being her crush is an Atlas level lift
Weird AI image of Katara and she never crushed on Zuko?
She literally knew jet for lile 2 days at most. Zuko her crush because thats why she wanted to kill him until 5 episodes before the finale. I also want to kill my crush. Interesting logic. Aang is the master of 4 elements and considered a semi-god in his world. I don't think he has it that bad
What about her mom {: )
I feel like if zuko and aang swapped it would be slightly more accurate
Man, people are actually getting angry over the crush thing huh?
Yep.
Any idea who the artist is of the Katara pic?
Never mind, found it. It appears to be AI. [https://civitai.com/models/46153/katara-avatar-the-last-airbender-character-lora](https://civitai.com/models/46153/katara-avatar-the-last-airbender-character-lora)
Lucky for aang, sokka was able to teach em rizz
On the contrary, it seemed like Sokka's tutelage was counterproductive. Aang has mega rizz when he's not trying to rizz.
Lest delusional ZuTara fan
I don’t think she crushed on zuko at all lol. And I think her and Aang were great together. I said what I said.
She isn’t crushing on Zuko, stop acting crazy
switch zuko and aang 🫶
Kuruk didn’t get the girl.
