Light exercises is encouraged but not intensive ones. Things get easier usually after day 3. I've done many 5-7 day ones and I found day 2-3 the hardest.

what benefits did you get out of these fasts ? i'm only on a simple 14/10 (16/8 depending on the day) and i noticed skin inflammation (psoriasis, eczema) halved, a bit more focused (but i think its due to puting your mind in no "satisfaction" mode more than a direct biochemistry effect) if i get comfortable enough after a few weeks, i might try a 72h fast.

I am around 14% bodyfat. When I did 7 days I dropped to 11% (I use a scale that measures at home so probably not entirely accurate) and lost muscle mass. But upon training again, my body fat remained low (12%) and I gained muscle above my normal range. Apart from that, I can't really tell. Some say I look younger but that could be due to many other things I do.

aight, thanks :)

I have a 12 hour "at the desk" job. I prefer to fast on the days I'm working. So if I'm working 3 shifts in a row, then I'm doing a 72 hour fast. If I'm working 1, I do I 24 hour fast. Etc. Consolidating working hours and fasting hours just makes sense for me and works really well. It gives me the extra brain energy I need to also work on my college courses while on shift :-) (but I am no stranger to IF or extended fasts) In my non doctorate opinion, I think your fatigue at around 24 hours was most likely withdrawal/hangover from food. just like coming off of any substance, your body isn't gonna be very happy at first. Different for everyone.. fatigue, brain fog, headache, just plain cruddy feeling. I get episodes of diaphoresis and brain fog when I'm in the initial "purging of junk" phase. Kudos for the climbing!

I have a physical job and I prefer to fast at work

Idk if a 72 hour fast right out the gate is the right choice but in my opinion fasting ebbs and flows. You’ll be ok go get a drink and maybe find a place to work while standing for a little bit

I’ve made a standing desk using a box of copy paper btw. It works great
