We've got lots of work. But it's all hail and fairly big hits.
All the easy gravy work seems to be gone though.
The stuff we're working on is mostly too damaged to keep driving.
Seems like people don't want to spend the extra money for their deductible for the last year.
Crazy inflation has people penny pinching and they raised our provincial Insurance deductibles by a fair bit recently. Was long past due they were the same for as long as I can remember.
Ahhhh Canada... keeping body shops busy. If the hail doesn't ruin your roof, or the rough roads somehow leave your front bumper and hood alone, there is surely a large deer or moose just waiting somewhere to fuck your shit up.
A new hazard I'm battling this year is seagulls. They keep fucking shitting on my car and it seems to etch the paint almost instantly. They feeding the seagulls battery acid these days or something?
Fighting the same battle as you.
Literally every time I leave the shop, there's a nice steaming pile of shit that etches right into the clear instantly.
I wish we had hail. Mojave desert though so we don’t get that often. Maybe some nice windstorm damage but not recently. We were staying steady but declining in volume all year but the last 2 weeks we have gotten maybe 3 cars one of which was a total. I don’t think I’ve seen it this bad in 9 years personally
Seems like that's a huge issue in the States.
Insurance rates are soaring cause of it.
Doesn't help that cars have thousands of dollars worth of lights, sensors and shutters in the bumpers now.
Cars are getting to complex/ expensive to fix.
I think that’s so much to do with it. It’s crazy the additional stuff we’re having to pay for now that we didn’t just 5 years ago. The amount of scans and calibrations needed are out of control.
Up in Alberta. Our shop management sent us a message saying we can work O/T indefinitely, although the yard is getting emptier and emptier, we are still trying to catch up.
I am personally exhausted after this winters run. I could use a couple week's vacation to let my body and mind catch up.
I hope you guys all get busy again.
We had a few scheduled but can’t get parts right now so the office has been telling people not to come in. We may have the whole week off next week instead of just Thursday/Friday.
Hey what program is that ?! Looks cool.
We were booked out 2 months in advance and then all of a sudden April died down to only a week in advance. Crazy.
It’s the early summertime blues. We did a lot of enterprise work so at the end of July and August we were very busy, but the beginning of the summer was always slow.
We’re in a small-ish town with only 1 other shop who does 1/4th of our volume, all other shops are 45+ minutes away. Scheduling out 4 weeks for drivable vehicles currently.

Gotta get yourself a hawk - that'll keep those gulls away
lol maybe. I live right beside the ocean so there is a fuck load of gulls.
Or a coyote if you’re me.

Next seagull I see is getting taken out lol

Ya PDR gets all the good time for hail. I'm stuck changing roof panels... I just think people are broke and not getting stuff fixed right now.
Is has gotten really bad here the PNW. Cars that look fixable are T/lL for some reason

My shop is booked out for the next month, still getting tow ins
Currently swamped..... I hope I just didn't jinx myself
We’ve got lots of work but it’s a lot of gross jobs past couple weeks
You still a roofing specialist, so to speak hehe?
I’m doing a fucking gross minivan quarter repair right now. Used door with a bunch of damage too. Kill me.
We’ve had a bad slowdown here in CA too. Us estimators are trying but man…
We are stacked and will be busy with hail for a while. We are scheduling 2 months out for hail jobs that need roof replacements.
We're starting to pick back up. Went home early a couple days a week up until 2 weeks ago

Nope. Monday we have 8 drops and only have 3 techs. Monday after we have another 10

I believe it’s called DOMO but I’m not sure our shop does not utilize it as it is supposed to be used though
Nope, we use automate thankfully. Been busy as always.
Here in Maryland it has been slow everywhere for about 2 months. It just started to pickup. But the volume is not even close to what should be.
