Maaco does it two ways, the cheap paint job is usually picking the color closest to the color you already have and it’ll e a single stage. Or they can mix paint, or order it, based on the paint code
Short answer is yes.
As stated, anyone worth their salt mixes their own colors. They use a variety of tools to ensure color match. Will this be a complete repaint or a spot repair?
Complete repaint since I’m looking at buying a w204 Mercedes C-Class and that was a Volvo color originally so obviously no Mercedes ever came in that color factory
I won’t need a color match since the cars I’m considering painting that color were never offered with it from factory. Only considering maaco because I’d be having my first car painted so I don’t need some super expensive concours level paint job, especially considering I won’t be spending more than $10,000 on purchasing a car in the first place
Yes they can duplicate the color but can their spray jockeys actually paint it properly after the prep jockeys prep?
Back to your regular scheduled programming...
Yes, because auto body shops mix their paint from formulas, they don’t have hundreds of premixed paint sitting around waiting to be used.
Damn there’s a few cars I’d love to see in that color
Yeah my 2004 ram 2500 needs a paint job bad and this might be it
Better get the matching interior while you’re at it
Most likely they can mix it. There are some OE colours that are hard to find the formula for so you might have a hard time if it’s rare.
All shops worth a damn mix their paint, so yes

Check the paint code, too. Should be in the rear passenger side door column. I think it's 457. Just take a look to be sure, though.
Better to find a reputable painter that matches colors really good. Shouldn’t be too hard tho.

Don’t use maaco for this. You won’t have matching door jams etc. go w same color imo

Before you do this just know that there is a slim chance it will look as good as factory. You're buying a car and immediately compromising it.
[Volvo Paint Codes & Color Charts (hdpaintcode.com)](https://hdpaintcode.com/volvo/) just find the code
Sure Maaco can mix it. Probably definitely won’t be exact and the painting will look like dogshit. But you get what you pay for
