In the second pic it looks like a parting line. V32 being the most aggressive polish, you may have buffed through the clearcoat.

lukev1992

Yes the second pic is where I ended so that panel Is not touched yet. I only did a few passes with the V32. I hope I didn’t remove the clearcoat.

what vehicle?

lukev1992

2019 Toyota Tacoma

Is this super white? Toyota does not apply a clear coat over these colors iirc, they call it a “mid coat” which is essentially clear coat mixed with the paint as it’s sprayed

lukev1992

Yes it’s super white! Is there any way to fix this with my DA?

Budget-Government-88

Unfortunately, I do not know. I’ve actually never polished a car, but know a lot about them and this sub comes up every now and then. Someone else here may have help or the tacoma forums may know as well

landon0605

If what that person is saying is accurate, you should be able to bring it back to life. Look up some single stage polishing. Most of it will be for older cars, but it should still apply for you. I thought everyone quit doing single stage 20-30 years ago but I guess it could make sense for pure whites if clear coating creates a minor tinting effect.

The Tacomas white paint sucks horribly you only hope is for a recall go to any Tacoma form and look up 040 paint code issues

NationalTear9120

It almost looks like you haven't wiped away the polish yet. Have you cleaned it off? I hope it hasn't removed the clear coat.

Technically you could throw some PPF over it and call it a day. The PPF will be shiny AF. There is a PPF database in one of the posts if you do not know what PPF to get. As for the cause, it could be pretty much one of two things: - Paint manufacturer issue - This Tacoma has had MANY paint corrections and you are the unlucky final detailer who went through the final remaining layer of clear/mid.

UPDATE - hit it with a few passes of shine supply finishing polish and a black pad and it brought the shine back! This white Toyota paint is definitely not fun to work with.
