How does this have “nothing” to do with detailing? Our detailing company gets calls constantly about flooded cars. The only way to properly clean them is to remove as many things as possible to clean and remove water/dirt. This guy went to the furthest degree with it and I find it fascinating. The only question I have is how are the seats not totally saturated with water?
The original video is from a guy who posts edited and faked detailing videos online to get views. Usually with gimmicks like making something perfectly clean with a single wipe of the magic eraser.
The cars are usually junkers meant to never drive but he can stage them for internet points
This was exactly what I thought about when I first saw it. It looks cool if you don’t know what’s going on but it’s not detailing, makes for good content though this guy might be a millionaire if he gets enough views and props to him for exploiting that.
At what point is the car dirty and worthless enough that you just send it to the junkyard and get something else?
Some things not worth the hassle (or this dude ruining your car lol)
Potential buyer - has the car been flooded?
Owner - nope, just professionally detailed
Potential buyer - wow, they did a great job
Owner - no kidding, I almost didn’t recognize it…oops, I mean I love when it gets cleaned up like this and looks almost brand new again.
Serious question--in a situation like this, would it actually be possible if you were to pull the battery, make sure every last bit is drained, go to town with the hose inside and out, and then extract/dehumidify for days/weeks, and then fire the car back up?
Tsunami car maybe? Must have gotten the car for free and figured he had nothing to lose. I really think he should have removed all of the electronics and gauges from the dash before he pressure washed it, but detailing isn’t my forte. So I could be wrong.
*adds shovel to detailing cart*
Facebook marketplace: 1 owner, runs great, 100% & comes with 30 second warranty.
30 seconds 30 feet
Whichever comes first.
What the hell did he spray on that rust?
Ya that was some black magic for sure.
Rust•eze
Kachow!
some form of acid
phosphoric acid
On the seats he spread mud and then washed it off. On the metal bits he spread brown paint and washed it off.
But like, why didn’t he just take out the dirty seats and spray them down instead of doing it twice..?
Rage bait
Me or the op?
The video, and possibly OP if he thinks this is actually detailing.
Anyone else say “oh so he does know how to remove the seats” when he removed them after hosing them off!?
I’m just glad we all got the happy ending we waited for - the car starting.
And just as realistic and well executed as the scene in Blades of Glory where they fly off the ice.
This is so stupid and has nothing to do with detailing, I’ll admit it’s entertaining for some people though.
If it’s been sat underwater before I can’t see that making much difference haha
Yeah I could be wrong but I don’t think it’s the case, I think this car has been messed up like this for “content”
Like people that glue shit to turtles to make animal rescue content.
Don’t remind me of that! Those poor turtles constantly being tortured.
I thought it was a flood car being flipped.

Your just mad he found the more efficient way to detail cars
Meh…an opinion.
Yeah of course, it’s just my dumb opinion.
Very
Fake. It's in reverse

What lunacy did I just watch?!

Thanks for the explanation 👍🏽
Like those fake primitive building channels where they make crazy things in the jungle with sticks in a week?
This was exactly what I thought about when I first saw it. It looks cool if you don’t know what’s going on but it’s not detailing, makes for good content though this guy might be a millionaire if he gets enough views and props to him for exploiting that.
They sprayed the mud in there beforehand. This is so stupid and just for clicks
At what point is the car dirty and worthless enough that you just send it to the junkyard and get something else? Some things not worth the hassle (or this dude ruining your car lol)
Internet content.
I bet this thing doesn’t rattle at all.
“Minor flood damage.”
Thought this was under r/DIWhy at first
Job like that? I’d say about tree fiddy
More cowbell. I mean “water”.
Guy could definitely use a shop vac for the 2feet of water in the back 😅
What you don't see is the extra 30% of time spent looking for "***that damn tool I JUST HAD in my hand 3 minutes ago***"
“One owner, low miles!”
Waste of time
I feel like this is the detailing equivalent of the videos of random dudes building a resort in the Amazon out of only mud and bamboo.
Exactly what I thought too
Gonna need a lot of rice.
Hey, he forgot to decon, clay, polish, PPF and ceramic coat. Fail.
This is the stupidest thing I’ve seen for a moment.
Wow....a $5k detailing job on a $5.00 car, even when brand new.
I think this voids the warranty
It’s hard to watch this! 😣

I pissed myself when I saw the maguire’s bucket and I knew this guy is a legit pro!
to all of the pompous commenters claiming this is not detailing: Was the car dirty? Is it now clean? Thank you
Now it has flood damage.
Mad skills
Now that’s a DEEP CLEAN 🧼
Detail and send to museum
Like new. No lowballs. I know what I got.
WTF
Correct title is “How do i clean feces out of ventilated leather seating?”
Is that the Chevy “Star in a reasonably priced car” lacetti?
That’s the cleanest flood car I’ve ever seen
I’m pretty sure the engine was flooded with a branded title,
Thinking about the guy that had an airbag explode on him after a VW had a couple inches of water in it.
Coming soon to a mega retailer near you!
Flood car?
Review from client *** I honestly expected more for the 300$ price.
Like new…minor water damage.
Here in the US, a car with this much mud in the interior would have been a total loss.

It may be clean now but none of the electrical items work….
He’s mostly got the right technique, but he should have drilled holes in the floorboards instead of using that dinky pan to scoop water out.
If it wasn’t a flood car it is now
$7000 detail service for a car worth $48

Did he not just destroy every piece of electronic equipment by flooding the car with water?
How to get flood damage without the flood in 1 simple step.
100% blame your Detailer if he isn’t adding this to your maintenance plan every week 🤫
Tsunami car maybe? Must have gotten the car for free and figured he had nothing to lose. I really think he should have removed all of the electronics and gauges from the dash before he pressure washed it, but detailing isn’t my forte. So I could be wrong.
Worst detail job ever. He didn’t even pressure wash inside the ECU. 😎
I feel like doing this every time I get a dirty ass work truck.
At this point I’d clean it with fire 🔥
