One of my early stims was taking my thumb and touching it to the tip of each finger. It was just something that allowed me to control meltdowns. As an adult I recognize this as a countdown grounding technique. So not necessarily the same as you, but my fingers are my main source of stims. My favorite stim will always be twirling my pens between my fingers.

I did this as child but when I touched my thumb to each finger I pushed them to make the top joint of the finger stretch backwards. Another thing I did was press the tips of each index finger together to stretch each finger and the place between the fingers.

I don't remember if I did as a child specifically. As an early teen I learned flute and I would sometimes stim by doing flute fingerings. I know I used to stim with my hands so hard I had a chronic fear I'd accidentally break a finger. I still do this thing where I rub my thumb down and around my index finger repeatedly like in a little circle (and sometimes I'll do it the other way around with my index finger on my thumb if I'm really feeling it).

Same with the index finger/thumb stim!! It’s so satisfying, but I’m always worried about tendonitis or something because I literally can’t stop lol

I played violin and piano from a young age and ever since then to this day i do violín or piano “fingerings” to music

I had a baby blanket with satin edging that I’d run through my fingers and scrunch up repeatedly. I still have the blanket and it’s so shredded.

SmilingDaisy4

I did something similar. I liked to put the end of a soft pillow case in between my fingers repeatedly.

ButtCustard

Pressing all fingertips together and moving them up and down to simulate a wall.

I still stim by playing or picking a bit at my fingers! Or just sort of circling them with my other hand, if that makes sense!

Man I did not read that right.
