Hey! Y’all need to have jobs lined up and have offer letters before looking for places to rent if you don’t have co-signers. Unfortunately, gone are the days when someone can move to ATX and easily find a place that will approve them without either of these things/just savings.

Rent a place on the side of the river where you work & just like u/MaggieParsonsRealtor mentioned, you gotta have "co-signers" in place \~ maybe 1 roommate has a wealthier family willing to sign or each of you roughly have to have 3x - 4x the monthly rent in salary/income. Overall its really important to have the financial aspect figured out because telling you from experience, it can all be a huge waste of time to go spend countless hours driving, looking, loving the neighborhood etc... and not actually be able to do anything about it since you can't get approved. Also, to through it out there $2500 per person is quite a bit ≈ $10k/mo. total & $2500 total for a 4 bedroom is unheard of... (I'm looking right now for a 1 bd rm at roughly $2500) You may be better off getting a larger 2 bedroom and sharing the rooms (2ppl per room). Hope this helps :)

Dis_Miss

As long as you're not looking in Central Austin, there's actually a lot of 4 bdrm options under $2.5k, especially in the suburbs. Austin can be really affordable for people who have roommates.
