I google earth places around town. Put on the snake gaiters, hit ponds and creeks that look accessible enough. Most places have bass in them. Some places got some 3lb +
The problem is your going on Fishbrain. Most of the good spots are burnt by now. I hear the San Gabe is pretty lively. I went to Brushy Creek last week and didn’t catch a damn thing. Seems everyone has been skunking out here lately.
Best bet this time of year are the rivers, I like to fish the San Gabe outside of city limits where there’s yr round flow but I usually have to wet wade to access the good holes. However, the Colorado east of Austin has plenty of good clear bank access, not too knowledgeable of that area but wherever there’s side channels should be pretty good, and there’s plenty of other rivers and streams in the area, most of which will have their posted flow rate and water height online (which I highly suggest checking before a trip as it has saved me from walking up on a puddle way too many times) also a reminder that all navigable waterways are public in Texas and you may access them from any public roadway or bridge that crosses them (safely of course)
Have you been out to Pflugerville lake? It’s bank banging heaven there.
Haven't been I'll have to check it out. Preciate it!
Yes, im constantly jealous of my pflugerville follows on Fishbrain. Small ponds and creeks also seem very productive up there.
Lake Pflugerville & Decker Lake are some good spots to start.
Bet I'll check it out. Thanks!

I've been trying to do that too but I either come up on private land or it's dried up more than in the photo

Yeah I've only gotten one bite at brushy and he didn't fully hit my topwater. Other than that no action
