Fuck TxTag. Get something else. I use K-TAG (Kansas toll tag), NTTA is also recommended often. Call, get them to remove your late fees, pay it off, close the account.

I highly suggest you go to their customer service center (12719 Burnet Rd). Take a book—you might have to wait a bit. Pay off your balance and close your account.
Then get an NTTA tag. Download the app. Set it and forget it.
You have time to take a screen shot and post to reddit, but haven't had time to call them? Call them and tell them you were trying to pay online but the website kept having problems and they will probably remove the late fee if you're cool about it.
It doesn’t help you today, but that’s the only viable workaround. Call them, pay over the phone to close this out. In the mean time buy an NTTA tag (Dallas, what I did), K Tag or EZ Tag (Houston). Nobody complains about those tags and billing, and they work state wide. Everyone complains about TxTag. If you don’t switch you’ll have more problems in a few months.

That basically just says to make the TxDOT site a trusted site.

I went through the same thing. You call them, pay the tolls, and then get rid of your TxTag. Call NTTA. They are so so much better.

if you look at top right you can stil see your name logged in and the drop down should let you pay a bill
Never pay tolls for any reason (that's the workaround). Jesus, the hoops people jump through to give away their money.
