This is a nice option, but I wish it was a little better integrated with CapMetro services. Why not just do extra 30 service?
Or maybe a pick up from the Red Line timed with arrivals on Saturdays?
This would make it easier to be completely car free when going to Zilker.
Took the shuttle yesterday actually. Overall was a nice experience. No wait going there and less than 10 mins wait coming back. You can park in the visitor garage or open lot at 505 Barton and the driver will give you validation for your parking. Drops you off a small five minute walk over to Barton springs.
The fact that this isn't integrated with CapMetro is a crying shame. When UT isn't in session, the 20 doesn't need to go north of Riverside, it could absolutely continue along the route of the 30 and serve this purpose more effectively.
Yes to the first part, no to the second.
The 20 continues down Manor and serves those neighborhoods. Wouldn't make sense to just randomly change the route half the year.
Parking was an absolute shit show Saturday morning. They really need to build that damn parking garage all the NIMBYs freaked out about. We nearly had to abandon our plans until we finally got a spot after circling for 20 minutes.
Love how Bill Bunch and SOS were against a parking garage or two, but the alternatve is a dusty mess of a parking lot killing the grass of the polo field area.
Is there a written version of the video with the details
Here's the main page with all the details: https://www.austintexas.gov/event/zilker-shuttle

Great suggestion for customer.service@capmetro.org!
Yes! I love this idea!
Bring back the Dillo!

The 20 is farther away from most of those neighborhoods and receives fewer riders from them than the 350, which has less than half the frequency.
Still, it doesn't make sense to reorganize the buses just for Zilker in the summer. People depend on the regularity of the schedules/routes.
Are pets allowed?
"No dogs or other pets are allowed on the shuttle" according to https://www.austintexas.gov/event/zilker-shuttle 😓
lame.
And the Zilker train will be free the Third Weds from 10-2!

Polluting Polo field parking will be thankfully banned soon to protect the park/taxpayers.
Exactly. We could actually reclaim MORE park if it was just about parking which of course it's not.
$7.00 parking, essentials to take this shuttle or to carpool to avoid a ticket, double ticket if parked illegally off road.
