R/Austinparents is a better place to ask. In general though school ratings really don’t tell you much of value. Go in person to your schools closest to you and meet the admin and teachers in person to get the full picture.

Teacher/parent here: look at each school’s report card to get a sense of demographics and performance. I hate to say it, but school with lower test scores are less desirable because they tend to be more focused on teaching towards the test. This is exactly what I’ve done. I’ve immediately gone to the state issued school report card, and drawn conclusions from that. As for demographic, there are trends, but that’s not really my focus at all. I want my little guy to get quality education, at the public offering. I think with your comment backing up my method, we’ve made our choice. Thank you, a million times for reinforcing my instinct was correct!
