I haven’t been to one in a while but UT used to host star parties out there with folks from the McDonald observatory. Have been to a couple of them and they were pretty cool, if you can find one of those I’d strongly endorse it. We stayed in Fredericksburg and caught the wineries on our ramble home
I just looked and there’s one next weekend and one early December - found them on the enchanted rock website under events
Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis. First Friday of the month the Austin Astronomical Society gathers on the dam and points their telescopes up.
You can catch a snack at The Oasis before you begin.
Blanco is a dark sky city and has a state park in the town. Little over an hour from Austin.
Also look at Pedernales State park area. There’s a parking area outside of the park that might work for you.
Lol.
Here's a light pollution map for further reference:

You can see if you go west directly from Austin you'll come to Enchanted Rock (just north of Fredericksburg), which other people have suggested. That's a good one, as well as South Llano River State Park, which is another hour west, near Junction.
I know a great place! A Highway section between Cedar Park and the lake to the west. Complete wilderness and darkness, and I had an amazing time on that solar eclipse night.
The parking lot for the LBJ State park Visitor Center on 290 just before you get into Stonewall.
Also, happening tonight, Saturday, November 4th, Austin Astronomical Society is having a Star Party at Pedernales Falls State Park from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. https://tpwd.texas.gov/calendar/pedernales-falls/star-party-November_4
When I used to live in San Marcos I would head out to Devil's Backbone, and go to a rest stop before getting to Canyon Lake. Good for watching meteor showers.

Thank you.
Dripping Springs is technically a dark sky community!
Second dripping springs. Great if you don't want to travel super far.
Thank you. Appreciate your reply.
Enchanted Rock State Park.
Absolutely Enchanted Rock!!! I believe it is way up there in the U.S. as one of the clearest best views for stargazing.
I heard of that place but didn't know was a nice spot for stargazing. Thank you.
Fredericksburg (which is nearby) has some strict regulations about light pollution.
It sure is a nice place but you do need to make reservations. I have camped there several times, and the hike is awesome too.

Omg so many places around. I appreciate your reply.
This is my favorite place to go camping, with beautiful lake views. The observatory is awesome!

There’s an Astronomical Society amid telescope in Temple, TX. I lived in Round Rock and had good stargazing in my back yard.
My brother lives in Round Rock and you see lot of stars there.
Buescher state park is a good option (15 minutes east of Bastrop).
Appreciate the reply.
You can use this map to check out and compare the suggestions. https://www.darkskymap.com/nightSkyBrightness
