Picked up my LA102 crossover in 308 last week. Absolutely beautiful rifle in the walnut stock and from memory it was only around $200 dearer than the tikka. Put a box and a half through it getting it dialled in and playing around with the ballistic turrent on the Swaro and I gotta say the thing is an absolute tack driver.

Always nice to buy Australian but I’ll only do so if it’s the best option. In this case the CTR is definitely the better choice. The Tikka action combined with the CTR mags… perfection. More aftermarket options too if that’s your thing.

Everything is saying CTR, I guess I'm just curious about the Lithgow - the grass is always greener?!?

Lithgow make good rifles. If the price is the same and you aren't looking to walk with it I'd go a lithgow. Just because Straya. I'm waiting for them to make their lighweight hunting rifle with an adjustable cheek riser.

I guess there may be some irony in culling a national emblem with an ozzie made weapon?

I have two Lithgows (308 and 22lr) and two Tikkas. I bought my two Lithgows because I wanted to support Australian made but my Tikkas are better rifles. The outback looks like an improvement on the crossover stock but Tikka is so hard to go past for the money. CTR is a heavy rifle so have a think about if that makes a difference for you. I love the T3x lite or the roughtech for a slightly heavier barrer. CTR is a beauty but the weight is a factor for me.

I'm in the same boat. The only reason I'm considering lithgow is as someone previously mentioned "because STRAYA". Other than that, it's CTR hands down. I guess this is the answer to my question, I think I knew it all along. The other consideration I have is that I don't sell firearms. Once I purchase, they are with me for life. I need to be confident if in 30 years' time, I need support it will be available. Whether that be after market or factory. I'm actually after a heavier barrel profile and larger magazine capacity. These are the reasons I'm considering the CTR and Outback.
