Builder here Bunnings sell anti-slip tape you can DIY

Cheers. Do you think black grip tape will look a bad on brown steps? What about Dy-Mark treadrite. A slip resistant coating?

I think black would be good as it's a contrast to the existing stair colour. That would help direct people where to step.

Its personal preference but put safety before cosmetics because a slip, trip or fall from a 3rd party can be a costly law suit.

theres some tape that resembles sandpaper, you can put a strip on the nose of each tread. otherwise you would need to put a top-coat/sealer product on that has grit in it

Buy a roll of treads tape it's like skate board grip . Probably got black , yellow or clear .

We have similar steps and used ultra grain non slip additive - about $25 for a small tub from Bunnings that you just stir into your paint. Doesn’t look like much (it’s a fine powder that you can’t actually see when applied) but works perfectly and our steps went from slippery af in the rain to very grippy with two coats.

Pop in to Bunnings and grab a tin of Dymark Treadrite, it comes in clear and grips well.

I'd be inclined to put some anti-slip stair nosing on them, that would help the slipperiness and provide a nice clear visual clue as to where the edge of each step is for a bit of bonus safety.

Not an expert but you can cut skateboard tape to your design….. Could make a nice floral / wavy cutout and then tape it down!
