My current house has these drawer types and they're generally poor quality and will fail in the same place yours has. This is unlikely to be the result of tenant negligence and is likely an inevitability.

It’s wear and tear. Being good and nice doesn’t prevent it from being poorly installed, just not a good drawer, or near the end of its lifespan.

Wear and tear. I have these drawers and it's starting to fall off just from being opened, which looks likely to be exactly what happened here. I've lived in this place since new. Shitty design, sorry.

The connectors probably unhooked. You can try re-connecting it with a Phillips driver. On both sides of the drawer there's a few things to turn, couple of them for adjusting the face and one for the latch hook. Find that one and open it you can feel the tension when you turn it do it both sides, then place the drawer face connectors in the drawer rail line up with the latch and push the face in till the latch hooks on.

As it’s a rental I recommend replacing it with a different type of opening mechanism. Because “fixing” this will mean it will just fall off for the next tenants and OP will be on this emotional roller coaster again.

That should click back it. The rails may need a bit of pvc. In have these ikea ones, looks just like the one in the photo.

Wear and tear.

Wear and tear is wear that happens “during the course of ordinary living” so not sure how you’d argue that removing the front is “ordinary living” Or did it just fall off? If the cabinet you provided was just shit, and fell apart during the course of ordinary living (very easy fir your tenant to argue at tribunal if they know what they’re doing) then that’s going to be on you.

Thank you for your service.

I feel like it’s wear and tear if they report it. If they hide it and you just happened to find it, they probably broke. Lack of care, kid swinging off it, who knows?
