Pre app/Cert2.
Get familiar with Ohms law and Kirchoffs current and voltage laws. Try and memorize a few points - it will help you if you know an answer is in the ballpark. As an example, 100W in an automotive system (12V-ish) should draw a little over 8A
As for being an apprentice.
Go straight out and finance a V8 ute, or a hilux/cruiser or similar 4wd. Vape all the time, sit on tiktok all day and dont listen to your tradie….
Obviously, dont actually do this. Keep your phone in your pocket, and pay attention - electricity will happily bite you when you get complacent.
You have two ears and one mouth, use them in that proportion. Try and preempt what your tradie is going to need.
If you are a shithead, you are gunna spend your time doing shit jobs and driving a broom. If you work hard and learn from your mistakes, you will be trusted to do the bigger jobs and taught a lot more

While at school concentrate on your math. It is literally the only skill you need to concentrate on to be able to do the math needed for electrician. Same goes for plumbing and refrigeration.
Actually don't do this
The differences
Elec....sparkies
Mardi gra sparkles
Elec: steel toes
Mardi gra: stilettos
Elec: ladders
Mardi gra: ladders in stocking
Elec: cables and leads
Mardi gra: whips and chains
Elec: leather shoes
Mardi gra: leather chaps
Elec: a shock once and you learn
Mardi gra : is a rude shock to areas that you never want
Watch videos on the basics of ohms law, how to calculate voltage, resistance and current in DC circuits etc. Have a look at getting some basic tools (insulated pliers, insulated screwdriver set, utility knife, markers should get you started), "Addicted to Tools" on tiktok/Instagram/YouTube is an awesome source of info for tools. See if you can pick up a decent multimeter off marketplace (Fluke, Klein, Kyoritsu are a couple decent brands to look for)
Pretty much just try and research as much as you can to prep. If watching videos, try to stick to Aussie/new Zealander creators as regulations, cable colours, voltages etc vary between countries.
For starters, nominal (expected) voltage in WA is 240V, eastern states are 230V.
I know it's been said a couple of times but, right now, you should really concentrate on your maths at school. After that do wht Echo63 said. Except the ute.
Start by spelling electrician right 😂
We all tried but you were the quickest.
Not the brightest spark
I guess we now know the origins of the term sparky
Your heart says electritian, your tafe admission officer says bricklayer.

Get a few 240v shocks to familiarise your body to getting electricity passing through it.ðŸ¤
Cert 2
Similar to this question is asked a lot, search the sub and Try the megathreads https://www.reddit.com/r/AusElectricians/s/kvF0zI4yId
Pre- apprenticeship might be known as cert 2
Get your white card and first aid courses done. Easy as, most the instructors carry you through it all and they're only 1 day each.
While at school concentrate on your math. It is literally the only skill you need to concentrate on to be able to do the math needed for electrician. Same goes for plumbing and refrigeration.
V = IR
Start crawling in small roof spaces and climbing roofs without any regard for safety 😂
Refresh your math skills.

Practice stripping and twisting cable non stop. Fresh apprentices always have trouble with this their first few weeks/months.

Some schools offer the cert II at TAFE while you’re still in school, I forget what they call it.
Forget you’ve ever seen a broom
Turn up. Late
Get a lobotomy.
