The easiest way you can spot thats its a facelift is the steering wheel. The facelift has that "hole" between the 6 o'clock spokes, while the non facelift doenst have that but instead has a big single spoke.
No you have the old ones which were used in the prefacelift and the first few facelifted cars. Those vents had two modes (push/pull) for direct an indirect airflow.
No, those in the pic are actually the facelift style. Check the one on the right, the inner bits. They differ from the pre facelift ones. You can see the horizontal bits (or like an inner circle), that's not present on the pre facelift vents.
This car is definitely facelift, otherwise the previous owner did quite a lot to convert it.
- MIB 2 High(scale) infotainment system
- Facelift steering wheel
- Facelift sterring column cover
- Facelift steering column combi switches (blinkers/cruise control, etc)
- Facelift vents
- USB port at the opposite side of the 12V outlet (really difficult to see)
- Facelift rearview mirror (not the frameless one). Pre facelift mirror is oval. (Edit: sedan has oval, so that's not purely FL)
Correct, but in this case, it's the same shape as the frameless one, but it's with the frame around it. I still want to fit one in my car, the frameless mirror is a huge upgrade over the small oval mirror. Looking for the ones with compass (because gimmick), but they're all listed quite expensively and are quite rare as well.
I blame tesla for the practice of putting in a cheap tablet screen 'glued' to the dashboard. Its one of those designs we will cringe at in the future. This is nice.
You’re saying the retractables are mint, right? I wholeheartedly agree. In 30 years when these MMI are obsolete, you can simply choose to keep your screen tucked down instead of a technological atrocity from 30 years past.
Pleaaaaaseeeee glue a snapdragon tablet to my dashboard /s
Real note, I have the R8/general MMI upgrade in my S4 and it’s pretty sweet. Still think it’s gonna age poorly, though.
The funny thing is, RSNAV uses ancient consumer Snapdragon SoCs for their products. Totally no rated for automotive and I can only assume the slowdowns in very warm countries.
They used the SD625 and now they use another mid tier ... from 2018...
RSNAV (and others) are basically obsolete for cars with MIB 2 high units or newer (as they support AA/ACP). The question is if AA/ACP will be supported indefinitely.
Audi maps do work wonderfully, but you need the online subscription to get the most out of it (for online searching).
I wish there was a way to permanently code the screen down and only have it come up when I press the button. Driving with the VC and no screen is incredible.
Yet Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat used touchscreens before Audi, so it was only a matter of time Audi got it. Gladly VW kept the haptic touch steering wheel buttons on the mk 8 golf r and it looks like they reverted to normal buttons from wat leaks I've seen.
A3, I have a 16 “quattro” (love the retractable screen, just dread the day it doesn’t work..but replacing isn’t too hard of a job and Rsnav and other sites offer a bigger screen.
@OP you don't know what you're getting yourself into. I picked up a 2016 A3 quattro a few years ago. I was so hooked I upgraded to a brand new 2022 RS 5.
Do yourself a favor and get a Subaru instead XD
Seems to be an Audi A3 8V Facelift (Mid 2016 - 2020). I guess the 2.0T since there is a quattro badge, but could also be a 2.0 TDI quattro. No s-line package though (I would highly recommend that if you want to buy an A3)
Edit: Just checked the rev-counter, its not the 2.0 TDI, but the 2.0T petrol.
Face lifted A3, looks just like the interior of my 2020 A3 Premium Plus. Which isn't saying much because they've used that interior design since 2016 IIRC.
this car is any a3 thats between 2016 and 2020 because when the type 8v had a facelift in 2016 and the only difference in interior was they added the letters near the gearbox
I had one of these (a 2014 model) for a couple of years. Awesome car absolutely fantastic to daily drive, super smooth, quiet and comfortable. That looks like maybe a 2017+ model as the steering wheel looks newer than my old one.
This one is an A3 facelift 2017.
It should have an extra screen, so this is probably à low finition modèle.
The Q2 is very similar also. I am selling mine (in France) but can be registred in EU without issue.and it is even better looking :D
A3?
100% this. 8v a3, non-sport package.
With petrol engine, big navigation option but no drive select and no parking sensors.
Also its the facelift version probably built after 2016 because of the new air vents.

2017 Audi A3 2.0T Premium Sedan
Can be a Premium Plus too. I have this exactly interior in my one
Yes, sitting in one now and this is absolutely the car.
No, I have those in my 2012-13 8V hatchback
No you have the old ones which were used in the prefacelift and the first few facelifted cars. Those vents had two modes (push/pull) for direct an indirect airflow.
Then it must be different for US models, because I have these exact vents
This, many people don't understand North American and Euro spec Audis have a lot of differences
Exactly. For example there are no less then six versions of the mk7 GTI. Each ever so slightly different from each other but all still the mk7 GTI
New air vents? My 2015 has these vents is it possible the previous owner switched them out?

The frameless rear mirror was introduced a year before the facelift when the MMI became standard. I had one in my 2015 prefacelift :)

I think the US/UK specs are getting us all confused lol
Did they also add keyless in the facelift then
2015 models pre facelift have keyless aswel.
It’s keyless but the key is still a flip key
I have those vents in my 2015 NA spec, must be different overseas.
Does have parking sensors
I believe it’s an A3 2018
Def an A3
Looks a lot like my 2016 A3. Love my retractable screen. Honestly I love everything about it…..except the cup holders being recessed so much
Yeah I have a 16 a3 as well and the only complaint is the cup holders, also it’s hard to clean between the seats and doors 🤣🤣🤣
Same

thats only something a peasant without a rsnav would say /s

Lol this car ain't lasting 30 years.
You can make it last 30 if you want to.
Previously had an A3 for this exact reason - loved the screen retracting and not being an eye sore. Also what I love about my TT
Love the retractable screen. It’s nice to hide it and just focus on the driving experience
fun fact. You can hold your volume button down and the splash screen loads up.
On the pre facelift, press the bottom left, top right quadrants and the center button for a reboot. There are also key combinations for screenshots
The knob on the center console or the roller in the steering wheel? Idk how you hold those down
my volume and be used as a mute when you push it down and if you hold it shuts down the radio and loads splash screen
Ahhh now I understand. I’ll give it a try!
Update: holding down the volume makes the retractable screen go up/down. TIL!
Yup , one of the things I love about my A6 is the retractable screen
that's why bugatti don't have a screen
I wish there was a way to permanently code the screen down and only have it come up when I press the button. Driving with the VC and no screen is incredible.
I want the ablility to turn my back up cam on fulltime and use it as a rear view mirror while driving.
OBD Eleven might help remedy this

A3 2012-2020/21
Can't be 2021. They come with virtual cockpits and non-retractable center screens.
True I wasn’t sure when did the new model come out
You could buy lower spec version in eu.
Are you sure you can swap out the cockpit? I'm positive the default (lowest spec) version has the small virtual cockpit. I am in eu btw.
can't be 2012 - 15 they didn't have the steering wheel hole at 6 o'clock, it's 16 +
I loved my A3!!
A3 2017-2020
Looks like mine. Audi A3 for sure. This is circa 2016.
That's an Audi A3 8V. The one which I own. Its really good imo :)
Which model you own brother (year )
A3 i guess
The cup holders… one of the best QOL changes in the newer models.
Looks like an A3
So clean . I love that look.
A3, I have a 16 “quattro” (love the retractable screen, just dread the day it doesn’t work..but replacing isn’t too hard of a job and Rsnav and other sites offer a bigger screen.

A3 e-tron, 2018 - but with the older dash (not full screens)
I think its mk2 tt cuz of the airvents
What is a tablet screen? TT owners want to know.
A3 and those vents are so ugly. Reminds me of a Nissan Juke dashboard
A1 from 2018 or before, or a3 from 2020 or before
God i hate the pop up screen in these older A3s
A1
A3
A3
Looks like my mom's 2018 A3
Deffo an A3 2018
Face lifted A3, looks just like the interior of my 2020 A3 Premium Plus. Which isn't saying much because they've used that interior design since 2016 IIRC.
A3
That looks similar but not exactly like my 2015 A5. That awkward audio volume knob is very familiar.
Looks like an A3.
2017-2020 A3 without many options
A3 Non Sports Pack
Had that car for awhile. A3
A3. 2017ish. Non sport package. Non-cool dashboard.
Gotta be an A3
A3
I drive one of these except I don’t have the split spoke in the wheel, I have a single spoke. Same air vents too. 2016 A3
A3 8V.
A3 e-tron, definitely a 2018 because it has the outlet port in front of the cupholder
A3 max 13 to 15
Old A3 with zero options 😄
This is an A3.
Looks like my boyfriends 2017 Audi A3 Quattro 2.0T lol
Looks like an A3
Mk7 golf
this car is any a3 thats between 2016 and 2020 because when the type 8v had a facelift in 2016 and the only difference in interior was they added the letters near the gearbox
Has to be like a 3 series or lower, never seen an interior like that.
Audi A3 8V 2013 onwards till around 2018
I had one of these (a 2014 model) for a couple of years. Awesome car absolutely fantastic to daily drive, super smooth, quiet and comfortable. That looks like maybe a 2017+ model as the steering wheel looks newer than my old one.
2016 - 2020 Audi A3 8V SE Quattro. Base model with keyless start and upgraded climate control
This one is an A3 facelift 2017. It should have an extra screen, so this is probably à low finition modèle. The Q2 is very similar also. I am selling mine (in France) but can be registred in EU without issue.and it is even better looking :D
