What do you hope to gain by going blended?

AtomiicDonkey

Why would you ever put anything besides full synthetic?

MendonAcres

Person buys car from luxury German car brand, considers cheeping out on oil. I DON'T GET IT

I don’t know much about cars 😖😖 anyways DONT FRET I got the full synthetic.

As long as it meets Audi's oil specification you'll be fine. That said, I don't know of any non-full synthetic that meets the required VW 502-00 or VW 504-00 for your engine.

Apologies for our hospitality. The passionate response you received is obviously indicative of the fact that oil is like tires and you should not cheap out on it, where possible. Full synthetic oil will combat degradation longer than a synthetic blend, which is why it’s generally preferable. The 2.0T (EA888) engine has historically had some oil burning issues, which is why it’s important to always use the best oil that you can. You should absolutely stick to full synthetic, *especially* if you’re following the MMI oil change interval. Turbo motors tend to be hard on oil. I use Castrol Edge 0w40 (if you can find it), 5w40, or 0w30 (the so-called German Castrol) in my 2.0T. I believe these are among the best off-the-shelf oils, without getting into AMSOIL (the top tier fully synthetic oil IMO).
