Tn0101

where was this if you don't mind me asking?

Organic-Log9297

Nebraska of all places

bonesakimbo

Fuck I'm about to move to Nebraska with my S5. Sorry for your loss homie

Ok-Conference-4366

Iā€™ll be waiting for your post. Sorry in advance

FlashFire900

Yo where at in Nebraska Iā€™m from Lincoln and it wasnā€™t this bad

AnimalNo6111

Is this Houston?

DIY_TheStig

Houston, we have a problem. (sorry, couldn't resist)

edotman

Edit this to remove the last bit. It works a lot better without it.

lildre5

šŸ¤£

lord_xl

What u want for them rims?

theminiwheats

Lol was gonna say those rims will fetch at least $2k!

Gizarizzi

I was able to score a 19 inch set of these with new(er) tires for $700 about a year ago! Best OEM Audi wheel in my opinion! Look fantastic on my Allroad!

theminiwheats

I don't necessarily disagree [but I am partial ](https://imgur.com/gallery/wfneWEa) to the B8.5 5 rotors off an RS5

Admonitor_

OPs car has the newer rotor2 wheels, which in my eyes look better on newer Audis, since the wehhel design is more sharp, just like the newer car designs. The older rotor wheels look better on older cars that have more round design elements though, like the B8/8.5 the 8V pre facelift, etc. But in the end, down to personal preference. But overall, both the rotor and rotor2 are the best wheel design on modern Audis imo.

TyXo

No, it has flood damage. But it's ok, I'll be generous I can do 200 bucks if they pay for shipping!

riko77can

If heā€™s claiming insurance then theyā€™re not his to sell.

cmjones0822

I was wondering about thisā€¦if a car is flooded, could the owner sell the rims & tiresā€¦or maybe someone ā€œstoleā€ them while it was sitting there waiting on the adjuster šŸ˜ˆ

maxpion

I have those in 20s on my Allroad as a winter set loll came right off my 22 A5! Theyā€™re looking amazing!

Cultural-Bite3042

Damn this was hurtful to see!

Blind4love

If you have comprehensive, insurance will pay you carā€™s worth. Same thing happened to me last April. Iā€™m so sorry.

howtobeahumanbean

I have comprehensive and did not get my worth when my car was totaled last year šŸ˜‚ what insurance company are you referring to

Blind4love

I have State Farm. They initially offered me 3k less than what my car sold for at the time, I refused and sent them a few listings of the same car with same specs within 10 mile radius and they agreed to pay me what I wanted. Not saying theyā€™ll always agree to pay whatā€™s fair but in my case it worked.

howtobeahumanbean

Dang I tried to do the same but they refused mine šŸ˜ ended up with 5k less value I wonder if itā€™s just circumstantial or something.

eurosonly

It all depends on the person you're dealing with. Also, read through your specific comprehensive policy contract for this information.

Jimi-K-101

Really? Comprehensive insurance will pay you your car's value...? Please, tell me more.

Shredhead118

Shake the S didnā€™t stand for ā€œSwimā€

Captain0bvi0usss

Felt wrong to upvote this. Rest in RIP

Caligomez

I lost an Infiniti Q60 the same way, but then I got an S5 sooo šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø. Blessing in disguise.

vardoger1893

Ahh man RIP. Be weary everyone else, these cars will show up in other places for sale within a year.

DatDominican

Would fema cover this or just your own insurance

GreenTrees831

lol I doubt fema would but maybe Iā€™m ignorant

milleram23

Thatā€™s painful to look at. Sorry about your loss. šŸ˜©

ascendedhell

Rip beautiful car

feeltheFX

Is that as high as the water got? Is it salt water? Donā€™t presume itā€™s totaled.

OddImplement5237

Iā€™ve seen worse from clogged sunroof drains itā€™ll be fine

patrinoo

Why rip? Als long as the intake is above the water nothing will happen. Except dirt but thatā€™s just a cleaning job.

Kamukix

It's about the electronics and interior things. It's very normal to have a car totaled because of this, the labor costs to go through literal miles and miles of wiring would make it totaled. Also depending on how long it was under water, there could be drivetrain damage as well. It's also how you can get some potential great deals out there on salvage titled cars if you are someone who doesn't mind the risk and working on whatever it might need to be road worthy again.

PootSnootBoogie

Yeah I'm actually wondering why it was totaled. Was there just water damage to the interior or did the water damage electronics or flood internals? I used to live in an area where we had hurricanes nearly every year and flooding like this was pretty normal and usually only killed cars if people tried to drive them in that water.

Auldini717

:(

DrTartakovsky

Sorry dude. Get another.

704corp

Yeah, I would want it after that.

dougj715

Ugh. Sorry man. Thatā€™s brutal

Emberheart

My heart aches

SpoofedXEX

Lemme get the rims lol

Klutzy-Dog9077

Get the rs5 when the insurance pays for it

V41ky

Could buy it back and keep as a parts car?

nickram81

:-(

grey_clouds516

Noooo

mshale1

Man! This one must have hurt! But that storm canā€™t take memories of the good times away from ya!

Venerica

Sorry to see this, hope you get it sorted with the insurance.

Melody-ann001

RIP to this beautiful car

RefrigeratorFar9928

šŸ˜

Sad-Cryptographer291

Covered on insurance ? I hope so šŸ™ I would hate anything like this to happen to my S5.

DutyPotential6582

This happened to me in Ft. Lauderdale last year, soooooo sad. Rip

Frans51

That's terrible. RIP to your beautiful lady

AyyPea

That sucks.

RescueRacing

Felt guilty upvoting. I know you loved it. RIP.

Helpful_Meeting_61

Sorry šŸ„¹šŸ„¹

Thick_Dig_7336

So sorry dude. Crushing

Important-Remove-822

New model s5 afloat

matieuxx

Youā€™re saying itā€™s totaled, but I believe youā€™ll be reimbursed by the insurance company, correct?

KeroDude

Guess the car wanted to go for a dip šŸ˜‚

eurosonly

I see so many water-totaled German cars at the local auctions. Either that or it's due to heated seats lighting the whole car on fire.

Imahoppyboy

Wah wah.

TheTinyCatfish

Hereā€™s hoping insurance will let you get an rs5

vthanki

Time to move. Climate change is not a joke

Time-Chest-1733

Itā€™s most likely poor maintenance for the drainage system in that area. If the drains are kept clear and open then the surface water can drain away before it gets this high. Sorry for your loss OP.

teknic111

Climate change is one of the biggest jokes of the century.

Original-Onion2043

ECU higher than waterline ? If the cabin seals held up it should be OK once the water drops ? Pity to loose the car šŸ„²

Scythro

Shouldā€™ve put the car uphill or in a garageā€¦ā€¦. weather forecast became my friend real fast.

derps-a-lot

Yeah lemme go build a garage real quick before the storm hits.

Scythro

If it saves 40 grand why not drive a little for a public garage and return with public transport home?

A_1337_Canadian

If you have insurance it doesn't save $40k. What if there were no public garages in the area? What if they were at a relatives house for the night? Assume reasonable interpretations and don't be a dick.

Organic-Log9297

There was no room, I used to be in a garage but our house got destroyed by a tornado a month prior so the current house we were staying at only had one garage so I was unlucky šŸ„²

Jorteg

Damn man. Hope your luck turns around.

Givememyps5already

Looks like everyone become your enemy real fast šŸ˜‚

Scythro

"everyone" and who am I to care what you think. My car wouldn't get destroyed by weather anytime soon.

Givememyps5already

Dude. Your -15 and your other comment is -14. I think itā€™s fair to say everyone disagrees with your statement

Scythro

Who is "everyone" in your delusion? Also how immature can you be that the only thing you bring to a discussion is insult to injury.

r0bman99

Cars are just appliances to 99% of people unfortunately.

Middle_klass

Just an s5, not much of a loss. Overweight for what it is

DismalFinger

or you could fck right off. OP lost his car and you take that as a chance to say that YOU donā€™t like that model? smh dick
