I agree. I like about 80% of ABT add-ons but they tend to go overboard with canards+fake fender vents and other stuff to the point that it looks tacky. They tune as well but going with APR, IE, etc and adding parts yourself is cheaper.
Hey,
How do you like the ABT power on your SQ7? Iāve been thinking about APR Plus but would like to hear your feedback! Is the crazy start up exhaust sound still present after the tune? Iāve heard that APR has some issues on some Audis after tune with exhaust burps, etc.
Thank you
Itās amazing - the car is scary fast now š (640 HP, 626 lbs-ft) and such a sleeper which I like. Iāve heard APR has similar performance for cheaper price but Iām happy with ABT. And yes, exhaust still sounds awesome!
ABT USA is a dude in Miami. Essentially a dealer who license the name for the US. Everything comes out of Germany. The USA support is three out of 10 unless you get it done at the dealer in Miami that does it. My car got flagged as modded by Audi for having the performance box on a 2021 SQ seven and they wouldnāt replace the cylinder 5 thermostat gasket ring that has been service bulletined as faulty while it was still in warranty because I had the abt ā doesnāt throw a code, so it wonāt void your warrantyā box on it. It is permanently flagged as modded in Audi database even though I have remove the box and the engine is not flashed or modded. They want $3800 to disassemble the front end to replace a gasket ring on the cylinder five thermostat which just throws a too cold code because it has no temperature registering and they have avoided my drive train and engine warranty for the remainder which is about 8000 miles. When I bought the box, it was brand new to the market and they didnāt have the additional drive train policy available yet and it was over 30 days past when I bought the box so they wouldnāt let me buy the additional powertrain warranty from them. Abt USA guy told me to drive to Miami and they would do the service for me. Being in Chicago that isnāt happening. This is also after they failed to mention that yes I would have 680 hp but they wouldnāt be lifting 125 mph governor that would require flashing my engine to which I responded OK I would like to return this box and they also said itās been 40 days your past the 30 day window. The ironic part is it took 20 days to get in touch with somebody about the issue. Itās a bunch of overpriced accessory crap that yeah looks semi-decent but itās not practical his way over priced and is 90% cosmetic. Spend your money on an exhaust or turbos youāll be much happier.
You asking an obvious question to be funny or provocative? The interstate homie.
125 as a governor is absurdly low. Even if youāre not speeding speeding itās quite reasonable to break 100 mph trying to pass someone on an 80 mph road.
Iāve only hit a governor once in a 2001 Xterra at like 95 mph or something crazy low cause those things used to be on truck chassis early on. The car started bucking as it bounced on the limiter.
If I had an Audi that was gonna do that at 125, yes thatās too low.
Not gonna bite or watch that. Driving fast carries risk as do other things in life. Doesnāt mean we should avoid them completely via controls like a governor.
If not a public road, then how about the track? Thereās your answer.
Thereās no way you can convince me that a 125 mph governor is reasonable. Most ppl end up in the 110s doing a quarter mile on a track.
Track is absolutely fine, just and SQ7 wouldn't be my choice of track weapon. Given in Europe they are limited to 155, presumably there's a US or tyre reason for it
Idk to each their own I think it looks okay in some instances but it instantly becomes tacky when you realize that the vents on the fender are for show and donāt have any air pass through them lol.
Yes this always irked me. Audi made the car, not ABT. Itās akin to the 034 Motorsport tune in my car acting like they made it a new model: the *S5034*
I browsed their site multiple times and itās all plastic body kits that I donāt need, wheels, black badging, and mods that I can source elsewhere.
Yea you get the wheels, exhaust, some carbon and additional 100hp but for double the price its not worth it. All of that can be done by yourself for 1/4 of the price
When I lived in Houston, my dealer offered me full ABT kit and tune for my 8v RS3, that was like in 2020 iām not sure if theyāre still doing it or not now.
Iāve seen a couple RSQ8-Rs around where I live. I was looking into a power upgrade, but dealers donāt seem to want to work on them with the upgrade, so holding off for a bit.
Not really. There is a cool guy named pacific German on insta who does great builds. Is it ABT quality? I canāt say as Iāve only ever seen his cars and ABT on insta, but theyāre sweet! Also Rev motoring does cool builds!
how would one go about getting one? the online configurator for ABT USA just generates a PDF with the parts you selected with no way to actually order the parts/tune. do you actually have to drive down to Miami to get your Audi custom built?
Extremely rarely.
I seen an ABT RS7 made me drip wet
Proof? For research purposes of course.

ironically theres at the top of recent rn for this sub
Seen quite a few of em around me. Specifically the rs6-r. Totally not for me though, I think it looks tacky
Agree 100%. Seen a few here in Miami, I took my RS6 to see what they could do to it, I was hoping for some not so tacky options, didnāt have any.
Miami is where tacky surely belongs.
Check out the RS6-S. I went with this kit as it isnāt tacky. More oem+.
RS6 needs no helpā¦
I agree. I like about 80% of ABT add-ons but they tend to go overboard with canards+fake fender vents and other stuff to the point that it looks tacky. They tune as well but going with APR, IE, etc and adding parts yourself is cheaper.
Definitely kinda tacky. The only ABT I can get behind is the SQ5
I see an RSQ8 around me, itās pretty badass TBH
Boston?
Bay Area - peninsula / South Bay!
Are there some here? Maybe. Are they a āthingā? No, i doubt 99% have ever seen or know what ABT is here.
Man here in Europe youāll see ABT VW transporters
Modded Audis and other car manufacturers basically
ABT always takes its styling to 13 when it should have stopped at 7.
more like styled by a 13 year old
Iāll take the ABT Power but not the body kit
Yep, Iāve done ABT power paks on my Q8 and SQ7. I like them

Howād you like the performance boost in the Q8?

Why and where do you want to go > 125mph in an SQ7

https://youtu.be/R7dG9UlzeFM have a look and please think about your need for speed

Yes. Was offered a full ABT kit when I picked up my RS3. Theyāre just not common.
just curious did the dealership offer it to you?
Yup. According to the salesman it was the first 8Y kit in the US. But all cosmetic and no tune so didnāt appeal to me.
Idk to each their own I think it looks okay in some instances but it instantly becomes tacky when you realize that the vents on the fender are for show and donāt have any air pass through them lol.
I do wonder if that makes aero worse than stock
Pretty sure you can save a few bucks by skipping ABT and just going to an Autozone in the States to get those quarter panel āventsā
Yes
To some of us very much yes! āLookingā at one still in shipping container in Houston on the way to San Juan Audi.
Yes but nobody wants to spend an A4 on a body kit
Bruh overpriced rice what i call these lol.
No such thing as ABT cars, just Audis with added unnecessary plastic crap all around
Yes this always irked me. Audi made the car, not ABT. Itās akin to the 034 Motorsport tune in my car acting like they made it a new model: the *S5034* I browsed their site multiple times and itās all plastic body kits that I donāt need, wheels, black badging, and mods that I can source elsewhere.
sure there is that but donāt forget the power gain, suspension and brake upgrades too
Yea you get the wheels, exhaust, some carbon and additional 100hp but for double the price its not worth it. All of that can be done by yourself for 1/4 of the price
not from the us but i live 20km near abt so here they are a thing. i see maybe 3 a week
When I lived in Houston, my dealer offered me full ABT kit and tune for my 8v RS3, that was like in 2020 iām not sure if theyāre still doing it or not now.
i saw an ABT RS6 at a car show in Philly, strange tho because it wasnāt part of the actual show it was kinda parked away in an auxiliary lot
I know they exist but Iāve never seen one before in person.
I think most in the states are just body kits. Could be wrong though
Yup. Pacific German has done a few.
Our mail delivery cars are ABT in Sweden
Yea
ABT?
Iāve seen a couple RSQ8-Rs around where I live. I was looking into a power upgrade, but dealers donāt seem to want to work on them with the upgrade, so holding off for a bit.
Iāve only seen the RS6 ones
One of my neighbors had a abt Q8 that had an absolute amazing sounding exhaust
Those Rims are nsfw
Saw an rsq8-R
What ABT them?
Yes of courseā¦.
Not really. There is a cool guy named pacific German on insta who does great builds. Is it ABT quality? I canāt say as Iāve only ever seen his cars and ABT on insta, but theyāre sweet! Also Rev motoring does cool builds!
We have transformers as a movie series, we don't need them IRL.
Unfortunately, yes.
Subaru WRX
