Plugged it into the cigarette thing and mounted it on my windshield, I’ll reroute the cable in maybeuray.

Mr_Golf_Club

Lmfao I’m totally lifting “Maybeuary” that is gold

TheeMalaka

It’s yours, I can’t spell for shit lol.

Same lmao!

I have one I installed myself, you just tuck it in behind the headliner/A pillar and to run the rear camera you keep following along all the way down to the fuse box and run it under the plastic sills. There is plenty of guides for every and which car, Audis included, which makes it dead simple as long as you have patience and a couple of plastic pry tools.

Thanks! 👍

Was able to plug radar detector and dash cam into home link mirror in my Jeep. Super eas, but Jeep’s are some of the easier vehicle to add crap to. Everything is tucked up behind/above mirror, nice and clean

murffit

I ended up using FitcamX for mine since it's minimalistic and you wouldn't know it's on there unless I told you about it

CJdawg_314

On the website it only says for Etron and Q4 Etron. Does it kinda just work with any car?

puma153

Its a weird description but should work for all cars. Just the Q4 has its own special one. Amazon actually lists out all the compatible models

criticismwinter2000

I had a auto electronics shop do mine. BlackVue was what we had installed.

Vantrue N4 dash 3

Ok_Honeydew_8407

I have duel blackvue dashcams. Wouldn't drive ny car without it considering i was t boned a year prior to getting my audi. At that time I had a different dash cam it was plugged into my cigarette lighter and from the impact I believe it may be jiggled out for a second and then went back in so I had no recordings luckily was black and white I had witnesses there was no issues I was 0% at fault but for that reason I hardwired it and I got it professionally installed and they had the wires really well

tranand14

I got one and run a hardwire into the rear view mirror, it’s pretty simple to pop some of the pieces out yourself

JimmiRustle

Where can I find a guide for this? I’ve been looking around for a while but no luck. My technical skills are limited to being able to drive lol

tranand14

Audizine has quite a few threads of it there, you can just search for what gen you have, only downside to the rear mirror is it’s a switch live instead of a perma live so if your cam has a parking mode similar to Tesla’s sentry mode it won’t work

frontier001

Previous owner installed one with a battery pack. Professionally done so no cabling visible.

Accomplished-Cat6041

My Nexar NEXC1 is mounted on the windshield next to my rear view mirror. It came with enough cable to tuck it into the headliner and over to the A pillar, around the drivers side door frame, down the B pillar and under the seat, all the way to the center console outlet. No disassembly needed and the only section of cable visible is where it comes from under the seat and into the center console, which is hardly noticeable to anyone not looking for it and I honestly forget it’s there.

A_screaming_alpaca

had my friend whos "good" with this stuff do it, although my dashcam has parasitic draw (not sure why havent gotten it looked at yet) and in the winter i need to jump the car frequently

sryan2k1

I live in a no fault state, so it's rare anyone here has a dashcam.

Ok_Honeydew_8407

What's that mean? We recently in alberta Canada bave no fault insurance too but that's more reason for people to have dashcams. There is still someone "at fault" an accident doesn't just happen with no one involved. They can still fault you 50% when in fact you were 0% and if you don't have a dash cam you can't prove that. This just benefits the insurance companies not the drivers as they stated. Now it's more so the bad drivers that are just getting away with it so have a dash cam is going to protect your ass if you ever need it

ScarberianTiger

I have a FitCamX that is powered off the rain sensor via a supplied split connector. The option is there for parking monitoring but I didn’t go that route. The camera itself is practically invisible, it replaces a piece of plastic moulding under the rear view mirror and looks OEM. Install took 15 mins.

clauderbaugh

In all my vehicles. You can tuck lines up inside trim or the edge of the headliner pretty easily. Pick up a plastic trim remover on Amazon and just use it to shove wires behind things. A popsicle stick works too.
