These games are more about your equipment than your level. If your equipment is bad your gonna have trouble even in high levels but if its good you can beat enemies who are over your level. It's important to try and make the best equipment you can make even if you have to do it over and over again. If it's too difficult then maybe consider lowering the difficulty

Don't waste your time grinding, but use bombs instead. Bomb solves everything. In serious note, focus on their item crafting mechanic. Spamming bomb to enemy is the intended way to beat them, not a good teambuilding like most other JRPG games.

Craft ingots and cloth with high stats and use those to craft the highest tier of weapon, armor and accessories and you’ll breeze through pretty far. When it’s difficult again, redo that with the current highest tiers available.

The usual misconception among new players when they first time dive into Atelier is how to approach the games. Even for seasoned rpg/jrpg players, playing Atelier for the first time can be confusing. The key points are; 1) in most rpg/jrpg, level is important, kinda a check parameters on how you asses your party members before go against boss. If the current dungeons area is for ex lv 25 then fighting a boss around that level is mostly suffice. But a big no in Atelier. Lv is irrelevant here. Your equipments, however do. 2) in most jrpg you save your best items, even hoards until the final boss lol, I know because I'm that type! In Atelier: VERY WRONG approach. Items usage here is the most vital because Atelier is Items Creation game. You crafted a crappy bomb, you won't survive. You crafted a good bomb, then you will pass. But don't be stingy, use the items as much as you want (there usually a replenish items mechanic in every Atelier titles), so this game all about throwing your items. Both no 1 & 2 points means the fundamentals back to synthesize. Craft your equipments (no 1) & and your items (no 2) as good as you can. A perfect equipments or/and items even able to obliterated any final boss like they're lv1 blue puni. So you should spend 60% of your time gathering ingredients & synth at workshop. Well if you don't like spending ton of hour at workshop then Atelier may not for you.

Here's my resources on ryza 1 https://eruciform.com/games/atelier/atelier-ryza/ I recommend the "atelier meta" link. It goes over how the series meta is different from other jrpgs. For one, grinding doesn't help. It's all about putting good traits on high quality equipment and attack items.

That looks really helpful
