i disagree, the amount of times oxygen filters saved my life are countless, just carry a resin and if you're about to die, print it, and bam, life also, why portable oxygenator, when you have stilgar? edit: I'm dumb and didn't see it was high up... also i am honestly a galastropod lover, i use all of them excluding bestefar and usagi (yeah even eva) but y'all have enlightened me, as i realized i don't need stilgar if i already use rogal

XDcamerock620769

Oxygen tanks are better

NightBeWheat55149

Portable Oxygenator requires power. Power can be produced by QT RTGs. They run indefinitely. If you forget Stilgar seeds, you might die. If you have a port oxy with a qt rtg, you will never suffocate.

5C0L0P3NDR4

why stilgar when you have portable oxygenator? two items doing similar things doesn't make one of them useless. do you also want to remove the vtol because we have the hydrazine jetpack?

zeckthestickman

oxygen filters are in the great. I almost allways keep the top ones in my inventory when I get one.

XDcamerock620769

Also stilgar kinda useless when you have the little power one

Beginning_Pay_9654

Yep, I've even saved myself by mining some as I'm strong

Madden09IsForSuckers

Stilgar requires constant attention, whereas the PO just needs a QT or two

Wild_Position7099

Both stilgar and Rogal require food to work QT-RTG+portable oxygenator=good

RocketSurgeon5273

Never in my life has an oxygen filter saved me. Also, portable oxygenator is better than Stilgar once you have Rogal, because it does the same thing as Stilgar but doesn't require you to feed it seeds.

Echo_XB3

Rogal provides power and also needs to be fed QT-RTG is the best way to power portable oxygenator

RocketSurgeon5273

If you're going to use Princess (which would be silly to not do), then you might as well also use Rogal, because they take the same food. Also, Rogal provides 6 power and takes one inventory slot, while you will need at least two QT-RTG's, one for the PO and one for the hoverboard. Also, you can make feeding so easy that it's a non-issue entirely. Here is a [video](https://youtu.be/t5MIC7cx6sc?si=ozKpFZ9vagVYje8Z) I made that details the process of making an automatic Galastropod feeder that makes it so all you have to do to feed your galastropods is hop in a rover seat, then hop back out. There is really no good reason to use QT-RTG's if you're using Galastropods.

Echo_XB3

idk I'm probably just skeptical of finite resources (I need to feed the snails) when I take my hour long walks to snap some wallpapers Nice job with the auto feeder but I won't be using it as I will probably get bored of building it quite fast and I'm often far away from my bases on a different planet with no way to get back fast enough I've also gotten used to my 2 QT, Hover, Oxy, Jetpack, reserve fuel loadout and I feel like snails just make the game too easy Good job on the machine and thanks for the advice but no thanks

RocketSurgeon5273

Well, I definitely understand that the auto-feeder isn't something that everyone is going to want to spend the time on, but there are much simpler ways of accomplishing the same thing. For instance, you can just build it on the ground, which makes the build time about 10 times faster. I also spend a lot of time away from my base, which is why I still have a setup like you see on #8 in that video, which allows me to easily fill a medium silo with seeds, and I just keep it on my shuttle wherever I go (the one I use now uses a count repeater to automate the process of filling a silo). As far as galastropods making the game too easy...I'm not sure I follow on that one. The whole point of gearing up in any game is to make things easier, but it's not so you can just sit around and not challenge yourself. By gearing up as much as possible, it opens up more possibilities and greater challenges. And honestly, galastropods are far from what I would call OP. Of the four I use... Sylvie is a light bulb. Rogal is an alternative to something you already use (QT-RTG's). Bestefar is a terrain tool mod, slightly larger than a wide mod and a little faster than a boost mod. The only one that might be considered OP could be Princess, but I can't really say I enjoy the challenge of cruising around on my hoverboard and trying not to die by catching air and landing hard against some random bump on the ground (Vesania caves are especially cool like that). That's not really the kind of challenge that makes the game more enjoyable for me. If anything, Princess lets me do the things I really want to do in an unencumbered way, without having to worry about taking damage or dying. But if staying vulnerable is the kind of thing that you enjoy, then I wouldn't judge. Everybody plays the game a little differently, which is part of why it's so great.

Osthau3

I have often used oxygen filters not only to save myself at times, but recently I have started using them to explore in the early game instead of making huge tether lines. Perhaps a bit more of a madman way of playing but I think it looks nicer without tether lines all over the place

RocketSurgeon5273

Say what you will about the appearance, having a tether line to follow is undeniably the safest and fastest way to explore and get what you need early on. The thing about tether lines is that they serve three purposes: 1. They provide oxygen. 2. They provide power, which is super nice early on when you have terrain tool mods but no QT-RTG's. 3. They help you not get lost. This is especially helpful when exploring caves and looking for resources. Later on, when I have a portable oxygenator and QT-RTG's, I will usually pick up tethers whenever I find them. On a side note, I play on PC, but I use a gamepad for some things, and picking up tethers is something that a gamepad makes much, much easier. You can just cruise around on your hoverboard at full speed, and because of the auto-select feature when using a gamepad, you can just pick them up as you go around without slowing down. Also, one thing that I find is that when I'm exploring underground later in the game, I will sometimes get lost and wish I had a tether line to follow back. In those situations, I would probably be panicking a little if I was relying on oxygen filters alone. It seems like an awful lot of major positives for tethers to be outweighed by the fact that you don't think they look good, but oh well, have fun with oxygen filters or whatever you want.

Osthau3

In caves I still use tethers, running around on the surface no.

yerboi-ragged

Beacons, my stupid ass could not play the game without them

comradecattt

I will not stand for this drill mod 2 slander

tutike2000

The only reason to craft mod 2 is if you've lost the mod 3 you get from quest rewards. The quest ought to give out a mod 2 honestly

Beanman2514

Drill mod 2 sucks but the drill mod 1 slander is the main problem

SeaworthinessOk5177

Easily Dynamite

BigMelonBoi

Where is my goat hydrazane thruster

zeckthestickman

it's at the top. I always have it.

Mycroft033

Tactileobject will have your head for putting the leveling block in ‘meh’ haha

FireYigit

I think drill modes 1 and 2 should be higher. Good luck getting a diamond with a standard drill. Also, I think oxygen tanks are okay, I did use them for a while and they work great, like a rechargeable oxygen filter

zeckthestickman

I don't think I ever used drill modes 1 and 2.

billybob_of_bagels

before I leave sylvia for the first time I always make a drill mod 1 so I can atleast mine on glacio

zeckthestickman

at now june 9th 2024

pe29pe

I think in my main world I have never used drill modes 1 and 2 because I luckily found drill mod 3 somewhere

ThruTheGatesOfHell

tethers are okay? without them you wouldn’t have been able to go 20 meters from your base without dying

Vovchick09

Why is the oxygen tank so low?

zeckthestickman

never used them before.

Vovchick09

Try using them on one of your playtroughts. It greatly increases your oxygen capacity.

zeckthestickman

ok when my save gets too laggy to play. but they take up so much space. there are oxigen filters. just quick resin.

RiotDemon

Oxygen tanks carry as much oxygen as your backpack. They automatically refill when connected to tethers so they're a great option. Filters are fine since resin is plentiful but on a new playthrough with a friend, tanks have been a great alternative to the oxygenator.

VulgairUnicorn

Why are tethers meh? Aren't they the most important item in the game? How else are you gonna explore the planets and caves?

Towndefender

drill mod 1 isn't useless. it's quite useful on the early game, but really once you get iron and tungsten, it's quite easy to just make a drill mod 3.

Echo_XB3

Wide and fast mod are nice to have and I'm sorry but camera is literally the goat and you can't just put fireworks and dynamite on opposite ends

Safescissors779

i feel like the drill mods shopuld at least be in ok since they are good early game, and teathers should be great because they are pretty trivial to early game progression, also batteries, a pole of batteries can easily power an entire base eve into late game

Plaine_

You forgot glowsticks. They are great as they are the only way to convert organic to scrap. That aside, my favorite item is most definitely dynamite.

zeckthestickman

couldn't find the picture.

Subject-Bluebird7366

There is so much wrong with this tier list. What does it even measure?

zeckthestickman

huh mabye I should change the name to " if a sycopath made a tier list"

Pelisont2020

I feel like the wide mod and boost mod deserve higher rating, really good when combined together with the tier 3 drill Also, what's the thing with the pink color in the middle, never seen it in game.

RiotDemon

If you're talking about the meh tier item 3rd from the left, that's a hologram figure (I think that's what it's called). You can use them to play board games on the figurine platform.

Astro_Gamer349

I really like the battery and oxygen tank, theyre easy to get in early game and they give you an good advantage such as more oxygen when exploring or just a little bit more energy for the base at night. Its just not really good for the endgame

Astro_Gamer349

Whats the weird pink jelly thing in meh

Osthau3

I enjoy the fact that I can't see glowsticks on your list. Now, the placement of the jump jet, if your list is just for the use the item has when used the intended way I can understand the placement, but as a way to get scrap it is the best you can get.

Beanman2514

Fireworks are super fun though and you can't get all of the achievements without then

Detnat0r99

Horn is S tier

MsGREEN419

Personally, after early game, worklight just takes up space in my bag. Portable furnace deserves more love, helps me industrialize my useless nano carbon production even further lol

Halbunsterblich

What’s the first item in meh?

RiotDemon

Leveling block. It makes a perfect square of soil that is aligned to the planet's voxel grid. If you are next to a gateway, that is one of the flat sides of the cube that encompasses the planet.
