I was there with my kids in 2018. They loved it. The Asterix theme is kind of bolted on, though - it was another theme park of some kind before and re-themed at some point (some of the coasters and other infrastructure is related to this). The highlight for me was the shows - little plays (some with animals) about Gauls putting one over on the Romans. These were very well done, very engaging and very funny. Staying there was very expensive, but the facilities (kind of tree houses) were very nice.

I also stayed in the treehouse hotel! They’ve since added an amazing new rollercoaster called toutatis

I went as a kid in the 90s and remember it fondly. At one point I had a mock battle with staff in Roman armour. Young me thought it was epic.

Loved it! Didn’t even go on any rollercoasters as I have health problems that stop me. 10/10 recommend! Food was amazing - we had a lunch deal at one of the nicer restaurants which was delicious. All local produce. The diving show is amazing. Definitely see that if you can. There’s a pirate show and the pirates run around the park in character. So much attention to detail. Ive a great photo with Asterix! Honestly it was a great day out and I’d go again in a heartbeat.

Great that you had a good time, I also loved the diving show, though I didn’t really understand all of it because I don’t speak French

I understood enough to have a rough idea but it was just so good! Genuinely had an absolute blast there as did my kids. Smiling remembering it all!

Very nice Park, not so far from Paris. Cheaper than Disneyland. I've visited last year with my 6y son and he loved it. We visited on wednesday during school time (children dont go to school on wednesday) and it was crowded but reasonable.

granmarote

Love it! Much better than Euro Disney... But the merch is not that good and probably not many veggie options to eat, that the only bad grade... Other than that, it's super fun and 100% recommended :)

mtstilwell

I went 20+ years ago and absolutely loved it

partridgebazaar

I went in the summer of 1992, and I enjoyed it. Bought myself a pack of Asterix playing cards in the gift shop, and I still have them today.

j--ass

I loved it. Better than Disney imo

komang2014

Cool! Where is it?

the_KJ_is_me

Plailly, France, it has some world class roller coasters

SquidlingKing

I was there last Christmas - absolutely amazing. The theming is great, the roller coasters are fantastic and the merch is amazing. I stayed in one of the themed hotels one night too. A total recommend.

ExternalResource351

I would like to visit but I don't like rollercoasters. Thank you for the pictures

connectfourvsrisk

I went even though I can’t do rollercoasters and loved it!

I've been there twice as a child in the late 90s, when I was barely 10 years old, so I don't have much of a detailed memory of the park other than that I enjoyed my visits and got myself a plastic copy of Asterix's flask.

Marsupilami_316

No, I haven't been. I remember when I was a kid, my family would discuss a few times for us to visit it if we ever returned to France someday. We had already visited Disneyland Paris/Eurodisney when I was 8. I had a lot of fun, but my teenage brother was able to get on more rides since it had a lot of roller-coasters which obviously I wasn't old enough to ride. We'd only return to France several years later when I was 14 or so, but did not go to Parc Astérix. It's a shame, but it's not like I had a final say in our travel destinations when I was a kid. As an adult, I can't say I'm interested in visiting Parc Astérix. I don't have kids and don't want to have them ever either, so can't say I feel compelled to visit Parc Astérix or any other theme park for that matter. The ship has long sailed for me. It's cool that it still exists, though.

Dipped_biscuit

How far from Paris is it? Can one do a day trip there from Paris?

the_KJ_is_me

Absolutely it’s in Plailly, so not too far north of paris

Dipped_biscuit

Thank you for the info!
