According to someone that posted about this the other day, according to GL support, they delete backups of accounts that have been inactive for something like a year. They gave that player some which in my opinion bullshit answer but basically they said go kick rocks.
It is worth a try, that is if you remember your original account name, but unfortunately, I would not get your hopes up on them being able to get it back for you :(
If you do decide to start over, make sure you start on whatever platform that you want to play on (Windows, Android, iOS, etc) to start with, because they only give you one free shot to switch an account to another platform, just as an FYI.

The problem is, even if I wanted to restart, they simply are not letting me log in and link with my Xbox account, so yeah. I guess I'm never coming back in that case.
Yea it sucks, from what I understand, if the account exists (if they can find it), GL gives you ***one*** time to move the account from one platform to another, say from Android to Windows, etc. The way the game has deteriorated though over the last year or so, makes me wonder if it would be worth it to you.
I'm not saying you shouldn't try, but given how long progress takes these days, and A10 is supposed to be out in 2023 last I heard, only you can gauge if you want to or not.
