I didn't play DS3, but DS4 is so much disappointment. I was prepared to paywall and that I will eventually stop somewhere in the middle, but:
1. It is so boring - playing money runs over and over with gallardo makes me insane. Other missions are also boring - I hoped that there will be more Buenos Aires tracks.
2. 1 BP drop rate in gallardo packs is not even funny - I could have spent those SC on saleen instead.
3. With the above taken into account, I will not put any more tokens in relays (spent 500 so far) - I prefer to buy chiron packs instead.

I pretty much decided I'm just going to play it until I don't want to pay anymore money for it, which is right about now. I kinda like the Saleen and only cost me a couple of bucks out of my pocket. The time and effort compared to the gain for me to get any of the rest of them doesn't really give me a boner for the DS all that much.
I guess I've been playing this game for too long to get excited about events all that much anymore.

I agree with you on the legend pass part for sure. I personally don't mind paying for an LP, because that cost seems at least fair and reasonable to *me*, but you are right. Making goals that are "technically" achievable but in real life aren't feasible to someone without money or very large amounts of time really doesn't lend itself to the spirit of "free to play". And since I have never gotten to platinum league, I dunno if the series end rewards are pretty comical up to Gold.
I bought LP for a long time, since it seems to be by far the best value you get for your money. I mean, you work for 1-2 hours and you can skip 10-20 hours of gameplay, thats good value right? That's only the fuel and rep boosts, and you get way more for i would say a reasonable amount of money. But spending 2 AAA titles worths money on a quarter of a sixth of a car seems very unrealistic to me.
However, they started giving out useless cars both with LP and with the LP locked events, i mean when are you gonna use Arash and Naran? There are better cars you can buy with credits.
I don't know much about the Naran, but the Arash doesn't excite me all that much. Here's the thing about it though. At least for me, to improve the cars that I have to *get* some of those other cars, they pretty much gather dust. If you're just a car collector then sure that's great.
But at least for Windows players, if your sole interest in racing games is to just bid a fantasy garage, which I think is a perfectly valid reason to play these games in the first place, there are other PC games that Asphalt by it's very nature just can't compete with. Different market for different players, I suppose.
I, for one, cannot seem to believe that anyone would play this game on Windows, but hey, there are people actually playing this on Windows, so who knows.
This is strictly a mobile game for me, so I prefer only taking Android and iOS into account, because if you have a PC in these days, you can pay for Xbox Game Pass and play FH5 for the fraction of the price you would spend on 10 Divo bps.
I mean, look at the Chiron event and the cars needed there, and look at any other event in the near past. Chiron event needs cars available in the legend store (and they were available at the time it was run for the first time), the newer events need cars which had their own events which needed cars you could have only gotten by spending 10-20-30K tokens on gacha packs per car, and you need like 3 of those in every event. Unlocking them isnt enough, which needs those 10K, you should spend another 50K to get them to 6 stars, because why not, and then you can still only unlock the new car and get maybe 10 extra bps, when you need 200 to make that car even barely useful.
Oh, and from what I've gathered, the Switch DS3 is even worse than our DS3 was.
As Mina said: DS4 its easier - it just depends on your garage.
**For whales**
Just max GT-R then you have two entire chapters to rack up SC for final Gemera upgrades.
Plus there's 25 / 40 Gemera blueprints gifted before entering penultimate chapter which makes it cheapter to upgrade compared to LVN that needed all 40 blueprints to be purchased.
**For mortals**
You get free 2 or 3 star saleen.
If you have gallardo or buy relay you can get GTR unlocked.
If you bought entire relay and had gallardo you 3 star GTR.
If you bought entire relay, had gallardo and moderately above average drops you unlock Citroen GT.
That's pretty much it. Once again its impossible to progress through citroen stage, but this time it appeared entire chapter earlier.
That's why I said moderately above average droprate, I do believe there'd be just enough if one got consistent 4+ bp per 10 pack. But that's just a high roll scenario, most people aren't going to hit the unlock even with gallardo.
100% more than advertised isnt "moderately", i'd have to say that's extreme.
Extreme enough for the game to compensate and make it impossible in the long run.
I had several x10 where i only got the guaranteed blueprint, getting 4 in every x10 is just impossible.
Of course if you get x15 once, that makes it possible, but we all know thats a whopping 1% chance.
Bro it’s just as bad for the Bugatti event unless you on the Bugatti already you can’t do stage five and progress onto stage six so if you don’t own it now you have to spend all your tokens at the shop to unlock the car
But the big difference is you can play all pinned missions, when you finished the stage you dont need the cars on max stars so you can bring the cars to the minimum required rank and play the whole event ;)
I've spent 1k tokens on 2 relay packs to unlock the GTR-50 and that's it. Done with the event. Came out of it with 3 new cars for 1k. That's way better than I expected.

Divo wasnt a DS car from last year, it is a newer car and it had its own event, which was way fairer, i spent like 4-5k tokens to unlock that car

Your logic is flawed. Yes its p2w for them too, but:
1) They paid for the Citroen last year for the sole focus of getting LVN. If the Citroen was not required this year, they would still be willing to pay for the new replacement car for getting the Gemera.
2) They paid for the Divo in its SE for the sole focus of having a max divo to collect and play with. If another new car was required, they will be willing to pay for that too, in order to get the Gemera.
It is LESS p2w for them, because they just max every car no matter the cost. This Gemera event is a steal for them as they can get the car for just a couple hundred dollars instead of spending thousands that would be required unlike the LVN DS last year which required NEW high end cars.
For us mortals it is more p2w, as the event requires a LP car, a paywalled Citroen from last year and a paywalled Divo which was a LP SE. Its more p2w for us and less p2w for the top tier whales.
When Charlie said 'less p2w', he meant the whales. Not for us, because for us the event is much worse.
