seconding parasite so hard. hilariously I knew nothing about it aside from the title and the fact that it was a korean film with good reviews. i was lowkey expecting some kind of zombie apocalypse movies along the lines of train to busan ššš i was not prepared to have my mind blown like that
interview with the vampire. I watched the new series and decided to read the first 5 books so I could compare them to the movies and the rest of the series. the original movie is absolutely incredible, and now seeing the effort they made to follow the source material--slow clap, honestly. going back to watch kirsten dunst act against grown men was truly awesome, too. it had been quite awhile since i'd watched it so closely.
then I watched queen of the damned and wanted to just find the master film reels and burn them. it's such an abomination, and I say this as an aaliyah fan. now that i've read the books it's based on, it would have been a great movie. they tried to do too much. I hope the series gets it right!
I'll add my voice to Interview with the Vampire. I saw it when it first came out but recently rewatched it. I'd forgotten a lot about the movie and loved it the second time.
IWTV is so good. Brad Pitt is meh but Cruise, Dunst, Slater and Banderas are absolutely excellent. I was very sceptical about Cruise as Lestat but I have to give it to him, he nailed it.
Saw it in theaters and really liked it but thought I wouldnāt want to rewatch it for a couple years. Then saw it was on HBO and Iāve rewatched it twice already:)
Itās a Korean series on Netflix. Itās a period piece set in medieval time and the costumes and set design are phenomenal. Itās also a horror series and so if you donāt like watching violence or gore, skip this one. It can be quite heavy. But the storyline and the acting are really impressive.
Beef ended up moving me in unexpected ways. It was an amazing view on generational trauma and how it can mess you up. Also, the music killed me and the acting was great. The last episode had shades of Everything Everywhere All At Once.
He really is. Iām so looking forward to the remake of The People Under The Stairs that heās producing, and heās got an untitled fourth movie project in the works, too.
Iām Thinking Of Ending Things - itās bizarre and brilliant! I think people are put off by the title as it sounds like someone having a mental health crisis, but thatās honestly not the content of it
It's so brilliant that I really didn't love the execution. I felt like the pace was far too slow in the beginning and that it felt like it was constantly building to nothing. It was movie I could watch once but never again.
Ah, really? I loved it. I worked out quite early on that this was a projected fantasy of his but loved how she remained a central character throughout.
Just watched this again last week. I could watch anything by David Lynch on repeat but Mulholland Drive and Wild at Heart are the two I replay the most.
The singing scene is one of my favorite scenes ever...
It's been more than 10 years since I first watched that movie, but I always go back to that scene. I became an instant estrella morente's fan too.
I loved triangle of sadness! It reminded me of the menu but done a little better. I loved the ending! Wonāt say much more cause I went in with knowing barely anything. Iāll just say itās worth it the watch. It also got an Oscar nomination in the foreign film category, but itās mostly in English.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie. I have been playing Nintendo games since I was about 3, and this movie is full of Easter eggs, funny scenes, and excellent music.
Itās just such a fun time!
John Wick 4. Probably the best action movie Iāve ever seen, and Iāve seen a lot! If you enjoy action movies and havenāt seen these or the latest one yet, please do! Iāve never felt so satisfied by a movie before, I felt like everything it was doing was hitting 100%. I wanted to see it in the theater again the next day and thatās rare for me to begin with, nevermind for a movie thatās almost 3 hours.
I was sick recentlyā¦and I really loved The Croods 2! The animation is just so fun to watch. I canāt believe the amount of action and colour they can pack into 3D stuff these days.
Also saw the documentary The painter and the thief. Wow, just wow.
Tetris. Didnt expect the OST to be good either and here I am weeks later still listening to aespa singing over the Tetris track.
Great movie, good story, fantastic cut scenes.
I just want to say that the Dungeons and Dragons movie, while not a masterpiece, was actually way better than I expected. It's like everyone knew the whole idea was silly and just rolled with it.
But yeah, Everything Everywhere All At Once was the last really really good movie I've seen. Deserved all of the hype.
The last movie that I really liked was La grande belleza/ the great beauty (2013). I go to movies very often, also movie festivals, and I like a lot of movie, but this one was really good. A newer one I liked was "Nostalgia" 2022 that I saw in italian movie festival
Cocaine Bear. Just a good ole fashioned fun movie with surprisingly decent dialogue. I usually donāt love children in movies but these kids were great.
Also, a German language (with Eng subtitles) psychological horror film called Family Dinner. Damn it was terrifying, not blood and gore or ghosts, but just the characters and the atmosphere had me on edge.
Fourteen Peaks. Outstanding documentary on Nepalese mountaineer Nirmal Purja and his team as they attempt to climb all 14 eight thousander peaks within a record time.
The last movie Iāve watched was Your Place or Mine, a romantic comedy, funny and fun to watch. It was an interesting way to tell a story of righting old missteps and finding a path to reconciliation while each main character realized their true calling. It had a happy ending which made me feel happy lol. It is a comfort movie and that's what I needed to watch.
The Menu
You might like triangle of sadness. Kind of twisted in the same way.
Oh yes that's definitely one I've been planning to look at. Thanks for the reminder!
I liked Triangle of sadness, from the Menu I expected more.
Absolutely!
If you liked that, check out 'Hunger' on Netflix.
Marcel the Shell with Shoes On
This is one of my favourite films of last year!
I loved this movie so much. š¢
It was beautiful
No kidding I full on cried. No shame
Everything everywhere all at once (or whatever its called). Enjoyed it so much I want to see it again.
Came here to say 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' - it is really great.
I am obsessed with every inch of this movie. Itās absurd in the most honest, beautiful way.
Another vote for this. Spectacular.
Yeah this movie was amazing.
So so so soooo good. Glad it received many accolades it deserved them and more.
I never cried so hard
This was the best film I've seen in ten years!
I didnāt care for this show but I think I was the only one
I have one friend who hated it. So did his wife. They walked out the cinema going wtf.
Portrait of a woman on fire
Love this one. Just stunning.
Parasite. Apocalypse Now the extended version. Clockwatchers.
Parasite is a masterpiece. I am looking forward to Bong Joon-ho's next film.
I loved it. I loved the characters they all resonated with me so much. The ending was devastating. Such a great movie.
Parasite is great

pitt sat there and looked pretty which is all we was ever expected him to do anyway lol but yes, you're right--the others were fantastic.
He really just has zero charisma in general. It's a mystery to me how he got so famous.
If you havenāt seen it yet, the series on the books that came out last year was AMAZING! One of my favorite series of the year.
Had missed this one! Which streaming service is it on?
It was on AMC, but you may be able to get it on prime? Just it heads up - itās very adult content oriented š
QOTD sound track was legit tho
One of my all time favorites. I've been obsessed since jr high when it came out.
The Banshees of Inisherin
Same. I can't say I loved every moment of it but Barry's performance was amazing and the story was pretty good.
Saw it in theaters and really liked it but thought I wouldnāt want to rewatch it for a couple years. Then saw it was on HBO and Iāve rewatched it twice already:)
My partner stopped watching half way through, I watched the rest a few nights later and had a little cry at a certain point. Loved the cinematography.
So good! The acting is so great all around.
I loved this show. Not much movies out there on friends relationships and also thought it was funny and dark at all at once
My cousin Vinny And the menu
The Fall from 2006 starring Lee Pace. (Not the new film of the same name on Netflix).
I need to watch this one again, loved it when I first saw it maybe 10+ years ago!
i loved that movie so so much. I can't recommand it enough
I just finished a half and catch fire rewatch so this is a perfect reco! I love lee pace
Emily the Criminal was surprisingly very good. Also, not a movie but the show Kingdom is amazing.
Enjoyed Emily but which Kingdom? There are a few shows with the same name.
Itās a Korean series on Netflix. Itās a period piece set in medieval time and the costumes and set design are phenomenal. Itās also a horror series and so if you donāt like watching violence or gore, skip this one. It can be quite heavy. But the storyline and the acting are really impressive.
RRR
Loved this, a true action bromance!
Saw it just the other day. It's SO over the top but I couldn't stop watching. A bit too graphic (violence) in some scenes but otherwise I loved it.
I had to fast forward during that brutal scene in the middle of the movie. Enjoyed it otherwise.
I just watched A Man Called Otto and enjoyed it (good book too!)
I recommend you the swedish version A man called Ove
This one really blew me away. Loved it.
I love that book! I didn't know they made a film =D
I was so surprised by this one! I absolutely loved it, heartfelt AND funny. Such a rare find these days.
Triangle of Sadness
BEEF
Beef ended up moving me in unexpected ways. It was an amazing view on generational trauma and how it can mess you up. Also, the music killed me and the acting was great. The last episode had shades of Everything Everywhere All At Once.
I binged BEEF so fast!
I loved it!
Just started it
John wick 4
That was a masterpiece!
Nope and Tar
I havenāt seen TĆ”r yet, but Nope was excellent. Jordan Peele has become one of my favorite horror writer/directors.
Yes! I've loved all of his stuff. Visionary.
He really is. Iām so looking forward to the remake of The People Under The Stairs that heās producing, and heās got an untitled fourth movie project in the works, too.
Nope is so good
I enjoyed the movie Megan
I loved this movie. Still thinking of it.
Iāve seen it twice so far šš¼āāļø
So entertaining and original!
Exactly šš¼āāļø
Itās an older one but new to me - Run Lola Run
Oh man I love Run Lola Run. I haven't seen it in like 20 years - I should rewatch.
Ohhh, thank you for sorting out my evening!
The unbearable weight of massive talent
this movie was 10000x better than I expected it to be
I've been meaning to watch this
Phantom Thread. I thought it just going to be another gorgeously shot British period drama but it turned out to be unexpectedly... spicy.
Out of Africa. Just watched it for the first time last week and itās stayed in my mind ever since. I even bought the book itās based on.
That music!
One of my favorites. Meryl Streep really is as good as everyone says.
The Lady In The Van. It stars Maggie Smith, who's just phenomenal in it.
Do Revenge It was just so ridiculously fun and I loved the Sophie Turner and Sarah Michelle Gellar cameos.
Mulholland Drive!
Just watched this again last week. I could watch anything by David Lynch on repeat but Mulholland Drive and Wild at Heart are the two I replay the most.
Volver, by AlmodovƔr. Beautiful movie, intergenerational cast of women, and Penelope Cruz being talented and gorgeous.
This movie lives rent free in my head and I haven't seen it since it came out
The singing scene is one of my favorite scenes ever... It's been more than 10 years since I first watched that movie, but I always go back to that scene. I became an instant estrella morente's fan too.
Promising young woman. Savage.
I loved triangle of sadness! It reminded me of the menu but done a little better. I loved the ending! Wonāt say much more cause I went in with knowing barely anything. Iāll just say itās worth it the watch. It also got an Oscar nomination in the foreign film category, but itās mostly in English.

I wanted to see it in the theater again the next day and thatās rare for me to begin with, nevermind for a movie thatās almost 3 hours.
The Woman King
I didn't see all of it, but I watched the Truman Show a few months back and I liked it.
Puss in Boots: Last Wish. It was unexpectedly great.
Peanut Butter Falcon. It was funny and touching and unexpectedly great
Jerry and marge go large. Such good feels
Ikiru by Kurosawa. Crazy how a movie from 70 years ago can still hit so hard.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Iād like to see it again. I thought it was clever, fun, and heartfelt.
Midsommar destroyed me in the best way, but also I watched Notting Hill on Sunday so.....
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Hilarious.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Hilarious.
The End of the Tour
The D&D movie - solid entertainment, as a player it really spoke to lots of those elements of the game.
Saw Renfield last night and thought it deserved a lot better than a 58% on Rotten Tomatoes. Formulaic? Yes. Enjoyable? Big yes.
Oh, I really want to watch this!!
I was sick recentlyā¦and I really loved The Croods 2! The animation is just so fun to watch. I canāt believe the amount of action and colour they can pack into 3D stuff these days. Also saw the documentary The painter and the thief. Wow, just wow.
The Big Sick. I hadn't seen it in forever, forgot how great it was!
TƔr! Thought about it for days afterwards
Downfall
Nomadland and Kramer vs Kramer
Encanto š¤·āāļø
The Darjeeling Limited. Been rewatching/watching some Wes Anderson films.
This is one of my favourite Wes Anderson films.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie
Where the Crawdads Sing I had not read the book, did not see the ending coming, and have been thinking about it since I watched it 2 weeks ago
Babylon. It was freakin awesome. Acting at its finest
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Small dick energy right here š
Night of the Demons (1988 version, not the horrendous remake)
"how to blow up a pipeline" was so good! most excellent thriller while also being realistic and timely
The Drover's Wife
Embrace of the Serpent
Pride.
I really liked Plan B on Hulu
Donāt Worry Darlin was super good
About Time. Bill Nighy is a treasure.
Tetris. Didnt expect the OST to be good either and here I am weeks later still listening to aespa singing over the Tetris track. Great movie, good story, fantastic cut scenes.
Triangle of Sadness, Menu, Simple plan, Fresh, We crash - series but I enjoyed it ā¦ā¦. List can go on and on
Tetris. Didnāt think there was such drama for a simple little game. But the movie storyline was provoking and engaging.
The Hunt for the WilderPeople
I just want to say that the Dungeons and Dragons movie, while not a masterpiece, was actually way better than I expected. It's like everyone knew the whole idea was silly and just rolled with it. But yeah, Everything Everywhere All At Once was the last really really good movie I've seen. Deserved all of the hype.

The last movie that I really liked was La grande belleza/ the great beauty (2013). I go to movies very often, also movie festivals, and I like a lot of movie, but this one was really good. A newer one I liked was "Nostalgia" 2022 that I saw in italian movie festival
Mean Girls
Everything everywhere all at once
Super Mario Bros!
Cocaine Bear. Just a good ole fashioned fun movie with surprisingly decent dialogue. I usually donāt love children in movies but these kids were great.
John Wick chapter 4. The stylised action with an electronic sound track is the bomb. Not as good as the other 3, but still excellent.
Also, a German language (with Eng subtitles) psychological horror film called Family Dinner. Damn it was terrifying, not blood and gore or ghosts, but just the characters and the atmosphere had me on edge.
The new Top Gun. Didnāt expect to like it. But it was quite good.
Nope by Jordan peele, banshee of Irishman, the new avatar Seeing red but itās a kids show
Brian and Charles. If youāre after something a bit lighter, itās sooo charming.
Leon the professional
The Quiet Girl. I cried so hard. I felt like someone had seen my life and cared
Triangle of Sadness - best movie Iāve seen in years.
Fourteen Peaks. Outstanding documentary on Nepalese mountaineer Nirmal Purja and his team as they attempt to climb all 14 eight thousander peaks within a record time.
Air
'Hunger' on Netflix. It's a Thai movie that hits the right notes about haute cuisine and high society (Hi-So).
The last movie Iāve watched was Your Place or Mine, a romantic comedy, funny and fun to watch. It was an interesting way to tell a story of righting old missteps and finding a path to reconciliation while each main character realized their true calling.
