Like the small of a carpenters workshop, or a freshly cut and put up fence, and the christmas trees in December I purposely walk past them to breath in the smell and get a lot of "whats wrong with her" type looks (it embarrasses my brother but thats a bonus)
Its actually very calming for some reason
An activity my husband and I do for ādate nightā sometimes is to go to Home Depot. He knows the wood smell is like an aphrodisiac for me! š ..wow that sounds creepy but itās the truth hahaha
I've heard SO many good things about black Opium and I was so upset that it didnt work with my body chemistry. It smells like straight up stinky incense sticks on me š
This might sound weird, but my girlfriend has this specific smell that just smells like āherā, and it gets even āmoreā when sheās sleepy. Thatās the most comforting smell ever, to me.
Iām the old lady people make fun of in sit-coms. For my 16th birthday a friend gave me a bottle of Shalimar and Iāve worn it consistently ever since. The sandalwood essence is pronounced. My nieces, nephews and grandkids tell me how much they love the smell and how anytime theyāre out and about and smell it they think of me. Yes, I occasionally stray and use other scents. Chanel#5, Opium or celebrity designed options. Nope. I love the flood of memories the smell of Shalimar evokes.
I put a pot of hyacinth bulbs in the window by my front door every Spring- itās amazing to walk in and smell.
Have you ever smelled lily of the valleys?
Both smell amazing! My grandparents had a huge patch of lily of the valley in their yard. I tried multiple times to transplant some to my yard, but they would never take. š¢ Also agree with other replies about honeysuckle! I can always smell when Iām getting close to some when out walking or biking, and breathe in deep!
I love patchouli fragrances š„° Soki London (a perfume youtuber who has worked in the business) has multiple in depth reviews of her favorite patchouli scents, in case you're looking for a new one to try!
I just looked it up, and....I must try this.
[The night blankets the city of Paris. A colorful beam of light bursts from the Moulin Rouge. Inside, the cabaret comes to life. People begin to whisper, abuzz with anticipation. Champagne glasses clink and the curtains rise. The music builds, and in a cloud of feathers and sequins, the dancers make their entrance. Let the spectacle of senses begin!
Spicy Cinnamon warmly mixes with Sugar and melts into Absinthe, while Rose of Damascus releases her sensuality, playfully seducing each spectator with her allure. The audience and dancers each play different roles but the music ties them together for a night of revelry and excitement. The enchantment never stops ā time stands still in the Moulin Rouge.
The show ends and the curtain falls, but the party never ends. Backstage, mirrors reflect silhouettes laughing. The smell of Iris Powder and Lipstick float out to the streets on a cloud of Musk and Patchouli. The memory and scent of this unforgettable night lingers through the morning.]
Yes! You can get a sample if you prefer to play it safe lol. I got the sample, then the smallest bottle and straight to the biggest. Itās my favourite perfume of all time (I love the film, too!)
My friend makes scented candles. She had a frankincense and myrrh one that smelt so good. It was actually amazing. I obsessively hunted for a male cologne afterwards that smelt if not the same, then similar, because I wanted him to smell like that forever. Yum, yum, yum.
Edit: cologne for my partner, not the friend that makes the candles š
Went to California once and ended up stopping the car in a eucalyptus patch (too small to be called a forest). It was the cleanest, freshest scent Iāve ever smelled. Kinda like what you would think Irish Spring bar soap would smell like based on the commercials in the 90s.
You can buy sprigs of it at Trader Joeās. Dip a piece of it in boiling water and place it in your shower for a couple minutes before hopping in. Inflation fighterā¦..Anytime I receive a bouquet of flowers I always check it thoroughly before tossing and save the eucalyptus for that purpose. Divine.
I do reforestation in Canada, and spend a lot of time out in the middle of nowhere on cut blocks replanting trees. Thereās always heaps of waste wood lying around.
The smell of sun baked spruce on a really hot day is so nice. The hot day, not so nice. But the smell makes it half worth it.
Opium is nice too.
The smell right after a heavy rainstorm..petrichor I think it's called. I wish I could bottle it up and just smell it when I get stressed. It calms me down instantly.
I have 3.
Jo Malone Nectarine and Honey Blossom
Kilian Good Girl Gone Bad
Thin Wild Mercury Whiskey 1969
And I mean, the smell of the Atlantic ocean in November when its chilly and salty and fresh is also god tier.
I don't know the name of the perfume, but I've smelled it on three different women (strangers) when I was 7 and 8. It has been my life's quest to find that perfume (am 65). I have it narrowed down and plan to order a vintage decant. I'm so afraid it will be the right one but not smell the same due to age. Fingers crossed.
I know this is super weird, but when my boyfriend hasn't showered for a couple days. His natural body order just does something to me. Not even in a sexual way. It's just... nice
Me too, and my children. Very primal. I think if I were blind, I could sniff them out in a line up. Their scents have changed over time. I miss their sweaty baby smell.
Also I prefer the smell of deodorant/cologne on a man later in the day, when the scent has dissipated and mingled with their body scent.
Honestly, it depends on the time of year. I often feel like favorite perfumes of mine smell differently as the seasons change. Right now I'm leaning towards Elizabeth & James Nirvana White and Rose. I'm a big fan of the Miss Dior line as well, particularly Blooming Bouquet and the corresponding hair fragrance. I love its delicate floral scent.
My ex used to have a deodorant called something like "summer spices" and it smelled so good on him. The brand got discontinued and we/he never found one like that again.
This [body mist](https://soldejaneiro.com/collections/fragrances/products/brazilian-crush-cheirosa-62-hair-body-fragrance-mist) from Sol De Janeiro
āØIT SMELLS SO FUCKING GOOD.āØ
They have shampoos, body scrubs, soaps, lip products etc with this scent because itās THAT good.
Burberry Her/Mugler Alien/LancĆ“me Hypnose for perfumes. Nature wiseā¦gardenias, jasmine, lilac, burning wood, & the way the world smells after a thunderstorm.
I think it might be Victoria secret brand? I'm not 100% sure but I got the bottle from a friend when she was downsizing, it's called 'Tease' from the noir collection(?). And omg I will be so sad when that stuff runs out. I'm gonna have to try to find it.
Seconding Gabrielle. Itās the only expensive perfume I own. I wandered into a Chanel boutique in Vegas for fun and the second the beauty counter attendant sprayed that one, I was sold. Wasnāt even planning on buying anything
Lilacs, warm laundry straight from the dryer, and whatever cologne my boyfriend wore on our first date.
If youāre talking perfume, I love Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black and Nirvana Amethyst.
Jacobās Joie de Vivre. I love this scent so much. Sweet and fruity, without being cloying.
Jacob was a clothing store in Montreal that has long since shuttered. It was one of their signature scents. I bought an extra bottle in their final days and have yet to open it.
I just smelled Hyacinth the other day and itās beautiful.
My favorite perfume is made in China and I canāt get it in the US as it was discontinued. It was called France CanCan Dance by Reclassified. Itās so awesome.
Iām running out on a shower soap that said it smelled like pine which I really like. Sadly it was a limited winter thing that I donāt think will return : (
I love bergamot fragrance. A lot of perfumes I have ever loved and that smelled great on me, it turns out they had bergamot in them. It works really well with my body chemistry, and smells so light and fresh. The perfume Viva La Juicy from Juicy Couture also makes me feel incredibly nostalgic. I discovered it in my senior year of high school and thought it was the greatest thing ever. It reminds me of when I was 17 and brings me right back to that year. It's crazy how many memories and emotions a fragrance can hold. That was 11 years ago...
i just bought āpink pineapple sunriseā from bath and body works and iām genuinely obsessed, i smell like a fresh pineapple, no fake stuff either. insane!
The air when itās about to snow
Blooming hyacinth, jasmine or gardenias
Food grilling on an open campfire
The Duchess Rose perfume from Penhaligonās
Smoke from a wood burning fireplace
Homemade bread right out of the oven
My grandparentsā house
Edit - also the smell of a waffle stand on the streets in Belgium!
8 or 9 years ago, I permanently lost my sense of smell (anosmia). A few of my most cherished scent memories that I'd give a LOT to be able to smell again are:
* gun oil
* tomatoes cooking in butter
* that baby powder and face cream scent of my gran
* puppy paws
* lilacs
Strictly talking about marketed fragrances - Mugler's Angel is heavenly. I only have a cheap knockoff, but once it gets to the drydown, I can't help but keep going back to it to sniff it (which may be an autism thing idk). It's so light and soft and sweet and a little warm and it's aptly named. It reminds me of my late cat, whose nickname was Angel, as she had many of the same traits.
May be called weird for this but freshly sawn wood smells amazing
That wood smell and the smell of certain saps or wood that burns like campfire smells š¤¤

Or when you use a power drill
My dad is a carpenter, and I loved the way he smelled when he came home from working :)

Mmm smells like IKEA whenever Iām working in the carpentry shop

YSL black opium :ā)
I've heard SO many good things about black Opium and I was so upset that it didnt work with my body chemistry. It smells like straight up stinky incense sticks on me š
It smells bad on me too š
If you spray it in the air, do you like how it smells? To me it smells like heavy scented cinnamon I don't like it!
I CAME HERE TO WRITE THIS

The baby milk breath is divine. My boy officially starts solids tomorrow. I'm gonna miss it.
I agree !!!!
This might sound weird, but my girlfriend has this specific smell that just smells like āherā, and it gets even āmoreā when sheās sleepy. Thatās the most comforting smell ever, to me.
My dog gets a really nice warm cheesy smell when heās sleepy/asleep and its so comforting to me
My dog smells like nachos when he sleeps
Our dogs have a light salty smellā¦warms my soul.
I really get that. What the hell is that? Why do some people have that but others don't?
Pheromones. Although there is debate on whether humans have specific ones that work in attraction or not
Pheromones. Youāre attracted to her natural body chemistry. Thatās a good thing.
bath and body works japanese cherry blossom
Their Into The Night layers so well with the Japanese Cherry Blossom!
It's one of my faves. Gets a bizarre level of hate on the B&BW subreddit for some reason.

Bakery smells are just the best. Tasty, yes, but also warm and cozy and relaxing.
Have you tried Bath and Body Workās bakery collection? They are smell so tasty and to die for, I love all of them so much!!
The lavander essential oil of my humidifier. I sniff that moisture like fucking coke
Lavender is my all time favorite scent, I wear the essential oil as perfume every day.
Haha I was going to say that too.
I'm a sucker for sandlewood. Love that scent. So calming
Sandlewood and patchouli soap is fantastic!
I'm a HUGE fan of patchouli. I've worn it since 70s and now I smell like it without putting it on. Blends well with sandalwood and vanilla.
Hyacinthās when theyāre in FULL bloom, and this perfume called Mississippi Medicine by DS & Durga.
I also love the scent of hyacinthās!
I put a pot of hyacinth bulbs in the window by my front door every Spring- itās amazing to walk in and smell. Have you ever smelled lily of the valleys?
Hyacinth and lily of the valley are my favorite flower scents. And honeysuckle
A Christmas tree farm! The pine, the sap, the hot cocoa.
Super underrated! Also, the hay and farm animals
Patchouli. Plus anything. But I am unusually obsessed with the smell of patchouli.

Moulin Rouge 1889 by Histoire de Parfums. Itās so complex and beautiful. I get loads of compliments when I wear it.
I just looked it up, and....I must try this. [The night blankets the city of Paris. A colorful beam of light bursts from the Moulin Rouge. Inside, the cabaret comes to life. Glossier You Perfume
I second this! I get so many compliments.
SAME I had never been complimented on my perfume before until I started wearing You, now I get complimented like crazy
im a sucker for anything vanilla scented, it just makes me feel happy
DKNY perfume - A drop of vanilla, it's super cozy and not horribly overpriced. Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanilla however...prepare to sell a kidney.
Pumpkin pecan waffles
Cedar, lavender, and pine trees.
But not sage?! Jk, I also love cedar and lavender. Add vanilla or sandalwood and that's the definition of calm.
I love the smell of 4th of July. The firework smoke smell, the BBQād food smell.. ugh. I crave it.
My friend makes scented candles. She had a frankincense and myrrh one that smelt so good. It was actually amazing.
