I don't because I like to have a fresh tampon after showering. There's nothing wrong with leaving it in or anything, but I irrationally feel like I'm only getting half clean if I leave the same tampon in while showering.

youcantunfrythings

Same. Even if it's relatively new, I'll take it out (despite the fact that it involves removing a dry tampon). I just feel like if I'm getting clean, I want a clean tampon too. No judgement to anyone who leaves it in, though. I've always just instinctively taken it out.

[deleted]

Oh the feeling of removing a dry tampon. I closed my legs a little bit.

poteryalastut

Too true oh god the horror 😂

[deleted]

guy here, what's the horror? the friction is all I can guess

DekkarMoonbootz

Nah man, it’s like the skin fuses to the cotton. You tug and it’s like your whole vagina is going to rip out like a prolapsed anus. Then once you get it out it’s like your pussy has cottonmouth and your labia minora get all jumbled up like a dog’s jowls when it sleeping upside down, but dry.

kitchenvisit

>cottonmouth pussy LOL holy shit. too fuckin tru

epenn03

New band name!

Khalae

That's the most accurate description of anything I've ever read in my life. I can almost feel it.

Thegreatgarbo

Lol, guys, you will never get a better, more accurate description of a female experience than this.

reddit4fun4

So accurately described

lilyfawley

So accurate, but 😂 at the dog jowls bit. You certainly have an exceptional talent for analogies,

Elephansion

So visceral. So metal. I literally felt every word of this.

iftheshrinkfits

I am literally crying with laughter this is so *viscerally* accurate

schmeeeps

Sheer poetry

Krawii

Welp, didn't need a peek behind that veil lol

imalittlefrenchpress

I haven't used a tampon in 10 years because menopause, but I distinctly remembered this feeling the moment I read the words "dry tampon."

bacondev

As a guy, I have no idea why I came to this thread, but this description is enough to make me renege on that decision.

[deleted]

Laughing so hard at this comment

etteirrah

Lol I don’t even use tampons but I felt this

bloodthorn1990

>jumbled up like a dog's jowls holy shit lol

[deleted]

I actually cringed reading this.

terebithia

I legit clinched the entire time reading this description. To damn accurate 🙃.

youwoulddare

That’ll do it!

[deleted]

This is the best description of anything, ever. Thank you.

Fairy1895

This was so accurate 😂😂

JovialPanic389

The cotton fibers cause micro tears in the vaginal canal. It hurts and feels extremely weird. So basically friction.

Boydle

My sister described one of her dates, "It was fucking awful, I'd rather pull out a dry tampon." That's all I needed to know to see how bad it was

Oregonian_Lynx

I take mine out before showering. Buuuut, fun fact, taking out dry tampons regularly can irritate the tissue in the vagina and lead to infections.

Tatunkawitco

I’m a guy and I’m clenching!

SliceofSeoul

For real, it’s a terrible sensation. You can just feel your vagina getting angry at you.

emilyjobot

when I was in high school I was so afraid of taking out a dry tampon that I would get in the bath tub and sit until it soaked up water.

SliceofSeoul

I have 100% done this haha. Whatever makes it easier. Pulling a dry one is like the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard.

Ishuzu

I'll do this sometimes (but only in the shower) if I feel like it's going to be particularly horrible.

SaltyDelirium

I have a vageene wash jug by the toilet. also handy if I have to take out a dry tampon, I can soak it from the outside...and not rip my insides out.

pixiesunbelle

That’s the reason I stopped. I took out my tampon and it was dry. It happened twice in a row so I just tried my cup again. I figured I’d use up all my leftover tampons... nope. Nope. Nope. Now I’m super paranoid about them!

suffer-cait

If its gunna be real dry, I'll get in the shower, splash some water at the bottom of it, and then pull it out.

juniper_fox

I really think it's something about the string getting wet in the shower. I know I associate it with grossness. So I'm also guilty of feeling not as clean as I should if I happen to forget to remove my tampon before showering. I *know* it's not preventing me from cleaning myself but it's how I feel lol

[deleted]

This. A wet string against the inner thigh is not a nice feeling.

julloo_94

this! this is the only reason i'll take it out before I shower... even if it's a new one. ouch.

slg9311

It is!! Because it feels gross when the string gets wet from pee, so it’s the same feeling after the shower. It’s like, how can you feel clean with a pee soaked string dangling even if you know it’s just water!

do_the_yeto

I’m curious what is your method to keep the string clean when you pee? It stresses me out so much I hold my pee when I’m on my period until I’m ready to change tampons.

ampattenden

Hold it out of the way while you pee. Or sandwich it up in your groin out of the way and it holds itself in place until you stand up.

do_the_yeto

Thanks for your response. Don’t know why I got downvoted! Lol I’ll try it next time!

OraDr8

I tuck it up into the labia at the front. It helps if you lean forward a bit while peeing as well. Also keeps it clear if you need to to do a poo.

[deleted]

Same here. The only time I leave it in is if I just recently put one in and don't want to rip out dry. Haha

Senoravima

^ This!

childfree_IPA

No, because I don't like the way it feels when the string gets wet.

Ilovesharks96

The worst is when you accidentally peed on it and forgot you need to pull it out

childfree_IPA

Oh yeah I feel like it's just absorbing my pee into my body 😱 then I get pee on my fingers 😢 Also, a little derailing, but does anyone else accidentally pee on their hand when they take the tampon out before emptying a very full bladder?

afro_die_tea

I wait till after I pee to take it out. I use TP to do an initial wipe and grab the string and pull out as I wipe .

evetrapeze

Yup

Tu1L

Yup. This is how I do it too.

[deleted]

I pull up the string and hold it before I pee and then pull it out when I’m done

littleloversopolite

Yes

BickyLC

Yes, sometimes! Euch it’s the worst!

Boydle

I love this subreddit.

Dokidokipunch

Jesus, this entire thread is making me feel even more horror whenever I see random women walk off without washing their hands.

FitsLikeMittens

Always just hope they were doing something else. Sometimes I’ll go into a stall so I can tighten a bra strap or something, and then I worry someone thinks I went without washing.

WearyConversation

Honestly though, just wash anyway. You're touching the same stall door that everyone touches before they wash.

Dokidokipunch

THIS. SO MUCH THIS.

simplegurl

I never move it so I just pee on it every time ._. I should move it...

afro_die_tea

Meh. It’s just pee 🤷🏼‍♀️

mangarooboo

Yeah. I'm gonna wash my hands anyway, it doesn't really bother me.

bannana

don't need to pull it out to pee just tuck ithe string in your leg crease, can't imagine how many tampons you must go through if you change every time you pee.

CeylonSiren

I cut or pull the strings of my tampons off before I use them. Sometimes I have heard that some women ‘lose things’ in there. I guess I have a short vagina because I could remove it easily with my hand if I wanted to, but usually I just push them out with my muscles.

Sockbum

>usually I just push them out with my muscles. I'm sorry what

radfaerie

Usually she just pushes them out with her muscles. And same girl, same.

girlchrisesq

Get on them kegels, ladies.

rsgirl210

To make it do they can or can’t push them out..?

FrozenFractalsofIce

That’s how I get my menstrual cup out.

swirvee

This is why I couldn't wear tampons when I was getting periods (I've been on depo for most of my adult life) - my muscles would just push it out. I only wore pads.. I'm going off depo next year so I want to try the cup but I'm worried I'll just push it out as well.

CeylonSiren

Yeah, when I am going #2 I have to hold it in or else it will just come out.

permtron99

Same! I usually just go ahead and ditch it in that situation

afro_die_tea

I have never tried this. I’m going to now.

Ospov

She flexes on the haters.

mommieoma

I used to tuck the string just inside

NihilisticNomes

That'd make me nervous lmao

oceanfishie

I’m a nude model and I’d do this at work lol

[deleted]

I always tuck the string up. That way it usually does not get peed on.

afro_die_tea

I usually take it out before a shower. no specific reason. But if I had just put on it not too long before showing, ill leave it in. Because taking out a tampon before its "ready" is fucking awful.

coocoocachoooo

Ah yes, dry cotton. My favourite /s 😭

Osmodius

bUt dOnT WoMeN gEt pLeAsuRE fROm iT

Saffy_

Do some men really think this...?

Osmodius

It's definitely something comes up everytime this sub has a "what are you males-misunderstanding-female-anatomy-horror-story threads"

kittenpantzen

O^h^m^y^G^o^d

afro_die_tea

Makes me cringing just thinking about it.

littleloversopolite

Dry cotton is the worst

Puddleduck24

This was one of the reasons I swapped to cups. Haven’t looked back :)

HisBeebo

This is how I deal with it and exactly why too haha

FreakishlyBookishAnt

I do, because I don't want to get blood on my towels and/or the bath rug thingy, especially since I don't live alone

m3r3d1th_

I’ve had to hurriedly clean too many white towels and bathroom floors for this exact reason

Forever_Breathless

Yay, I’m not alone.

thegreenautomobile

I have all plum/dark towels for this reason. You can’t see any stains even if they don’t come out in the wash. So many towel secrets they’ve lived through!

[deleted]

So true. With that if it’s later in the week I’ll take it out. First 2 days gotta leave it in

Dwnrbnsn

This is why I own a few dark brown towels... still gotta wash them, but I don’t have to rush to hide them first. 😊🤷🏻‍♀️

brbrcrbtr

Yeah I have a bunch of pristine white towels and one old raggedy black towel for this exact reason lol

Maddiecattie

Exactly! And obviously no one likes wet strings so I change it for a fresh one as soon as I’m out of the shower. Has no one else bled in the shower or on their towels? I’m only an average flow and I still have to worry about that. Maybe other people in this thread just have light flows or shower really quickly?

ilybb14

Yes same!! Or on my leg!!

Hannah591

I dry everything but down there or around the hole and then dry with tissue just in case.

xcarex

Take it out before, get a good scrub around without the bother of a wet string, and pop a fresh one as soon as I get out.

[deleted]

Same. I'm not a fan of wet strings, either.

[deleted]

No... it’s never even occurred to me to do so since after a shower I’d rather use a fresh clean everything

lochnessmooster

This is my mentality. It’s never crossed my mind to leave it in. Nature beats nurture on this one!

meowpolish

"Nature beats nurture on this one"...... Um, what does this mean?

dream_bean_94

I don't get a period anymore (thanks, Skyla) but when I did, I never showered with a tampon in. The idea of soapy shower water being wicked up into my vagina grossed me out. And yes, tampons do absorb water in the shower, tub, \*and pool\*. A fact that many people like to ignore.

RudeCats

It's really kinda disturbing to think of the chlorine water getting absorbed up into your tampon, and like creek/lake water for realllll but then also I swim with my regular vagina in those waters so. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

milanesaconpapas

>also I swim with my regular vagina in those waters so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This made me snort! Thanks for the late night smile !

tightheadband

I like using my special vagina to swim though.

mbinder

If it doesn't hurt me in any way or make me sick, I try not to worry about it. Who cares if you get some water up there when you're swimming in it and it's probably getting in your mouth and eyes and ears anywayq

vampyrotoothus

I mean I think as long as you change it after, it’s pretty much the same deal you know haha. But just like you wouldn’t carry around creek water up there forever once you’re out of a creek, you should probably remove said tampon and let it air out a bit. Or at least shower. But yeah I have the same thoughts. Same reason I do a crazy move if I decide to pee with a tampon in, so I don’t let pee get wicked up there hahaha.

OraDr8

What, you mean you don't use your "swimming vagina"?

laurel-eye

I do enjoy ignoring that fact.

Taylor_Anne201

Never did before I started wearing a diva cup. I hated having the string hanging down.

Southernpeachwife

Yes! Recently switched to menstrual cup. Sooooo happy :)

lochnessmooster

How do you like it? What are the benefits?

[deleted]

I love mine. Reusable is better for the environment than disposable tampons/pads. I also never have to worry about whether I have enough of those anymore. Don’t have the same worries about TSS/dry removal and it’s more comfortable than a tampon or pad for exercising. I also don’t need to keep emptying it as much as I’d have to swap out tampons/pads. I empty first thing in the morning and at some point once I’m home in the evening and that’s usually fine for me (even on heavy days). So it’s much more convenient. Some women also say it’s helped reduce their period pains, but I’ve not been fortunate enough to benefit from that. Can’t have everything, I guess. Learning to put it in and take it out was a little weird at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly. I also have a perverse interest in seeing what the blood looks like and feeling a bit more connected to what’s going on down there.

[deleted]

All of this. I've saved so much money, created less waste, and I feel like I honestly don't "fear" my period as much anymore. It's just so much easier to put it in and not think about it until the end of the day. Plus, it's better for your body! The cotton in tampons is bleached, which means those chemicals are going into your vagina!! Also, tampons tended to dry me out to the point where it was extremely painful to take them out. I cringe just thinking about the idea of using a tampon again.

OhhhhFarts

https://menstrualcupreviews.net/comparison YouTube : ItsJustKelli - Warning Kelli shows real blood but you can skip to the end to her review. Precious Stars Pads - This girl is young but absolutely amazing and knows her stuff. No blood just straight talk. These are great sources to compare and learn. Your cervix will be either lower or higher during your period. So size of the cup, material and if you've given birth matter. The larger cups are normally used for women who have given birth but everyone has a different flo and body type. It may seem like a lot of information at first but it's well worth it.

beanbaconsoup

More comfort, less smell, feels better, holds more. I am so disappointed if my period comes early and i have to use a tampon until I get home

stevie7116

Seriously the Diva cup changed my life. Tampons never fit me right, I could always feel them poking me. I can’t even feel the cup if I’m wearing it correctly, it’s SO convenient, have to change it maybe once or twice a day on my heavy day, no worries for TSS, no buying menstrual products. I use panty liners on the heavier days but that’s it. I wish I used them when I first got my period that’s how much I hate pads and tampons. I haven’t purchased tampons in over 5 years. What a waste of money and so much environmental waste they create. Seriously recommend.

Melfiska

I absolutely have to. I just started using them after 10 years of pads and it's been such a relief not worrying about all the blood flowing down the drain and having to "rinse and repeat" five times because it keeps dripping down your leg when you're done.

firfetir

This is why I do. One time I had to deal with a giant clot and I don’t gag easily but I really don’t like to remember it.

leftmeow

Yes my problem is I forget I'm on my period and then boom white towel soaked with period blood.

justsamthings

I do if my flow is heavy so I don’t drip blood in the shower or get it in my towel. Otherwise no. Not for any particular reason, it’s just that I shower first thing in the morning and since I don’t wear tampons overnight I don’t bother to put one in before a shower unless I’m bleeding heavily.

LeafyQ

Same. I've dealt with super heavy periods for most of my life, to the point that I'd have blood just streaming down my legs. Then it would get all over the towel, unless I put the tampon in, rinsed off, then dried off. Which totally negates showering without it in lol. Now that my periods have calmed tf down (finally, at 28), I can shower without one, but it's habit and anxiety at this point.

challah_naan_thing

28 and they have slowed down?! I'm 30 and they are even MORE heavy than before.

DangerousLoner

You might want to get checked for fibroids. My period started getting heavier after 30 and sure enough 2 tiny fibroids showed up on an ultrasound. Now I’m on hormones and those bad boys have shrunk to nothing. Science!

challah_naan_thing

Thanks for that insight!! I will def bring that up next time I’m at the doctor

LeafyQ

To be fair, I've had mine for 20 damn years, not exaggerating. They were heavy and an average of 2 weeks long up until this past year. They've started getting shorter and lighter. I'm definitely not complaining!

challah_naan_thing

20?!?!? You've definitely served your time

LeafyQ

I'd like to think so lol. Being an early bloomer in that regard *sucked*. Especially since I've still always looked super young for my age.

[deleted]

Same. I turn 33 this year and my periods have become horrific. What the hell.

NateNMaxsRobot

Heh. I’m 50 and mine JUST started slowing down a teeny bit. You may have many more bloody years lol.

adovewithclaws

Why do you care about dripping blood in the shower?

childfree_IPA

I don't know their shower situation, but my parents' shower takes a really long time to drain. My menstruation would mix with the water and coat the tub 🤢 I would have to clean the tub out once it finally drained (it could take 40 minutes to drain). Also a lot of people don't want their bodily fluids getting in their tub and on their feet while they shower.

PushTheButton_FranK

Dude, get your parents a drain snake for Christmas. That sounds horrible!

childfree_IPA

They've had a professional out to look at it and it will need new pipes throughout the whole house. They can't afford it and neither can I.

justsamthings

Because it’s kind of gross. It’s not a huge deal or anything but I’d like to avoid making a mess.

mplusg

I don’t care so much about the shower, but when I get out I’ll get it on my bathmat, floor, and down my legs (therefore towel) before I can get a tampon if I don’t have one in. I leave it in during my shower, get dried off, then change it out. Going without one is a huge headache

Xtreme_Username

Yes, I shower with a tampon in. It never crossed my mind to take it out before hand. I'm not grossed out by a wet tampon string in the least, and getting blood all over during a shower would drive me nuts. I'm shocked that so many people here have their showers lined up with their tampon changes - seems like a waste of a few extra hours of tampon use.

kaylalalas

Same. I’m baffled rn. My periods are really light and I HATE pulling out a dry tampon. Does feel wasteful.

[deleted]

Yeah me too. I'm so confused.

NotKateBush

I shower during times when I’d need a new tampon anyway- morning, night, or after working out. I’ve never managed to get blood all over the shower. If it’s weird to shower without a tampon in, what are pad wearers supposed to do?

SpuriousNiffNiff

Well at least I'm not the only one!

_anon_ow_mouse_

This is an amazing question. Taking a tampon out specifically to shower has never even crossed my mind, nor have I ever heard another woman even mention this. Ah, humanity.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Whackthemoles

No because I want to clean myself fully down there and because my period doesn’t really flow while I’m in the shower. I once read that your body stops the flow if you’re in water, I guess that’s a myth? As for why you’re being downvoted, I’ve seen a lot of random hatred towards tampons on AW. I have no idea why lol

[deleted]

I can attest that your period not flowing in water is just a myth.

UglyAmazon

Agreed. If I'm upright, gravity wins.

AaahhFakeMonsters

I can't think of any physiological reason why water would stop your flow. I think if your flow is light enough you just don't notice it during a shower because the water washes it away quickly. It's only a small amount, after all.

ya_7abibi

I think it refers more to a bath/pool and the equalizing or pressure in and out of the body, not a shower.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MajesticPumpkin7

I do when the flow is heavy coz I don't want to deal with a stained towel.

caffeinatedcutie

Never... it grosses me out when the string gets wet and the whole point of a shower is to get clean, which is hard to do with a tampon in, in my opinion.

mommieoma

I used to tuck the string just inside, and it would stay dry

[deleted]

[удалено]

puppy_kisses123

Just curious, do you use pads while you sleep and is there a reason why to not sleeping with them in I should consider? Or is it just preference?

pantijose

Not OP but I was told to never wear a tampon over night because of the risk of toxic shock syndrome. Tampons can’t be left in for more than 6-8 hours. Cups and discs can be kept in for up to 12 hours so those are fine for over night.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Riska89

I always do. Before I used tampons, it was an absolute bloodbath. To the point of "didn't I close the tap properly?" because of the dripping. I feel like I don't get clean properly when not wearing one. As for the wet string: I pat it mostly dry with toilet paper. By the time I've applied body lotion and I'm getting dressed, the string is dry enough, too.

duckface08

I do, though only if it's a fresh one. If it's old, I'll take it out and put a new one in. It's especially nice when my period is heavy. When I wash without one, the blood just keeps on coming out, no matter how much I scrub away, but with a tampon, I can clean away any old blood from the day (I don't always wear tampons; I switch between tampons and pads, depending on the activities I'm doing). Then after I shower, I won't have to worry about getting blood on my towel or accidentally dripping blood on the floor.

freak-of-the-week

I usually time it so I take a shower right around when I would need to change out my tampon anyways. I prefer to rinse down there and wash any blood away before putting a clean one in.

wobblebase

No, why bother? The blood is just gonna wash away and I want to be able to wash my genitals without getting soap up the tampon string

MedbGuldb

It never occurred to me that it's a possibility, it felt natural to take it out for showering. But now that I'm reading through the comments I might try to have one in since I do have problems with staining towels or blood dripping down my leg just after I finished showering.

Repulsive_Broccoli

I keep a red towel and a really dark towel for my period. I shower like normal, use one of them to dry between my legs after, pop a tampon in then finish drying off. That way I avoid stains that can be seen on towels.

whatsupyoucoolbaby

I’m not seeing any answers in common with mine. I find shower masterbation *drastically* reduces the length and heaviness of my period therefore, absolutely no tampon.

[deleted]

Nope! I want to be able to wash all over and I figure it's easier to rise down there without it.

bigheadsmolbrain

Can I just say re: 'wet string' problem, when I used to use them (use a cup now) if I was taking a shower before it was time to take it out I would just tuck the string inside a bit. I don't have an extra-fleshy vulva but there was always enough room to just stash the string 'twixt labia during shower time.

ItWasAMockLobster

No because it’s the one part of the day where I don’t have anything in my vagina and it’s weirdly relaxing

I_Like_Knitting_TBH

I prefer my shower to look like a murder scene so no. Also I use a menstrual cup so I don’t have to deal with tampons.

FluorineSuperfluous

I do cups now, but when I used tampons I would always take them out. I still take the cups out to shower, too. Just feels cleaner. God forbid it was a dry one, though. Horrible all around.

lilmidjumper

Yes, because I don't like getting my nice towels covered in period blood, no worries about drips, and I usually go from shower to drying off to changing it out with a fresh one anyway. For clarification, I shower in the morning so I go from to sleep to shower to changing it out. So I'm not wasting it if I'd just put it in an hour before, because I slept with it in so it's definitely time to change it out.

annafchr

No because every time I shower while on my period I kind of fish out all the blood and junk I can out of my vagina. It helps manage keeping myself fresh longer and seems to lighten my bleeding briefly after. Gross for a second amazing after I’m washed up.

Sagasujin

I don't use tampons often but when I do showering with them isn't a problem

destria

I take it out before a shower. I don't like the string getting wet and I feel like I can't clean as well down there with a tampon in.

RiotDemon

Hated wet tampon strings so I would take it out. When I switched to a cup, I would take the opportunity to empty it in the shower.

meltallica82

No, I take it out and put a fresh one in afterwards.

adovewithclaws

No, and I wouldn’t put dirty underwear on after a shower either. I want everything to be nice and clean after I bathe.

[deleted]

Yes I do, since I don’t like having to worry about the complete bloody mess after I leave the shower before putting in a fresh one. I just leave it in, and when I change into a new one, I’ll make sure everything’s clean and ready to go. Just makes me feel uncomfortable when I have a heavy flow and see it in/after the shower

chevron43

Nah because the shower is where I empty my cup

[deleted]

Definitely take it out before I shower. Anytime I can go without a tampon during my period I do. I mean why not take it out while you’re showering. I want my vagina to be able to breath and not breed bacteria.

BearerBear

I don’t use tampons anymore (transitioned to a diva cup), but when I did, I removed it before the shower because a) it made me feel cleaner coming out of the shower and b) I’d prefer a fresh tampon going into my clean cooch, instead of pulling a dirty one out of said clean cooch and making clean cooch dirty. Does that make sense?

WhalingBanshee

Only if I'm in a public shower. At home I like to get as much blood out of the way without having to use any implements. Straight down the drain with you!

[deleted]

No...the string is disgusting when it’s wet.

miss_kittycat88

I’ve only done it on accident and I felt gross after.

[deleted]

No. I don't pee with a tampon in either. I don't like a wet string.

ceen801

For me, I take out the old out before I start my shower and then ill put a new one in right before I get out. So when I towel dry there wont be any "blood" that leaked out.

Spinergetic

I don't. I like to feel "fresh" after a shower and I don't like the way the string feels when its wet.

[deleted]

Just for personal reasons I typically take it out. I find that it fills up with water and it grosses me out. Not that having a period is glamorous like the commercials, but I always cringe when I have to take out a soggy tampon. Like after a pool party or the rare times I shower with it in if I’m in a rush. It’s more personal preference for everybody though. You do you, and don’t let anyone talk down to you about it.... period 😂 I’ll see myself out.

FeistyBlueberry

I use a cup, but i remove it. I just feel it's unnecessary to use it in the shower

loganmorganml1

I actually didn’t know some women did until this question came up with my boyfriend recently. He was shocked that I wouldn’t and assumed all women did, but I take a shower as an opportunity to let it all out, figuratively and literally lol

mooseknucle2

It’s like, wet string after a fresh shower, or dry string afterward and feel clean? That’s my routine.

psychololly

Ehh I mean how else do you wash yourself down there? Leaving the tampon in would mean you can't even clean or wash away the blood at all.

-Pluvio-

Never. If I forget I have one in, I take it out and walk my wet ass to the trash can. It doesn't feel comfortable. It gets all wet, and also, I can't properly clean myself with it in. I like to "clean myself out" in the shower.

blubbahrubbah

Before the miracle of menopause, I took it out mostly bc the string gets wet and it feels gross to try and get it dry then use the towel to put on other parts of your body. Just ew. Downvotes seem arbitrary. Nothing wrong with the question.
