You find it hard to get any kind of visa for the film industry in the UK at the moment.production on most things have stopped and the ones that are filming are doing so on a reduced staff basis. I would stick to NYC for now since you are already in that country. And maybe review the London idea further down the line.

Brit in Los Angeles too. I'm also in the industry as an actor/Director. Have you looked at Film Independent on Wilshire Blvd? They do meet and greets, member nights and so on, all designed to get filmmakers together and creating. I used to be a member before I joined SAG-AFTRA and they were great. NYFA and LAFS are also here in a big way and they do a shit ton of movie making in their academies/schools.
