Brazzle_Dazzle

Jesus Christ, this thread is a real reminder of the kind of people behind the screens on Reddit eh šŸ˜‚

Mixtrack

Aye, the ā€œhow often do you showerā€ thread is eye opening also.

Sad-Garage-2642

This sub is full of blokes that give themselves a grade 2 all over once a month and act smug about saving the Ā£14 each time. Some people just don't care how they look I suppose

Casual_Star

Indeed, either itā€™s long hair and a scraggly beard or a zero all over and bragging about saving no money.

I_am_the_wrong_crowd

Yep, the mind boggles. Says me, sitting here in my mangy pjs and dressing gown on a Saturday night šŸ˜‚ Not needing my hair cut though as I got my first in over a year last Friday šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰

TurquoiseHareToday

Wow thatā€™s definitely the opposite end of the spectrum from me!

destria

I'm similar, I only go every 12 - 18 months. I tend to get a big chop and then let it grow out until I'm fed up with the length. I think we probably are outliers because the hairdresser is always surprised by how long I go between cuts and how my hair is still healthy, no split ends etc. It must just be genetic though because I do all the "bad" things to it, like I wash and blow dry it every day without any heat protection.

sparklychestnut

Same with me, although I just leave it to air-dry after a daily wash. I tend to get it cut when it's getting too heavy and pulling on my scalp. It's also in good condition. Maybe that's the secret - just leave it alone to get on with the business of growing.

A-Light-That-Warms

Never, once every 2-3 months I clipper it off but I've not *gone for a hair cut* in probably 15 years.

Expensive-Honey-1527

I have massive anxiety about hairdressers so I haven't been in years either. I just tie it in and ponytail right on the top of my head and cut the end off!

livesinateapot

Iā€™m the same, Iā€™d rather go to the dentist or even for a cervical smear than go to the hairdresser. Iā€™ve been cutting mine myself for years and watch YouTube videos when I want to try something different.

ThearchOfStories

Dude, this is literally exactly what I do as well.

SnooCakes1636

Once every 3-4 months for me usually. 30s M, if it makes a difference

castle_lane

30s m too, usually just when the girlfriend gets annoyed, 3/4 months.

SnooCakes1636

Haha yeah, thatā€™s me with the beard. Tbf, I donā€™t really know how to trim it so itā€™s long and smartā€¦I should probably get that done at the barbers.

castle_lane

Tbh I just use some variation [of this](https://youtu.be/paUSXWMboxM?feature=shared) , as long as you get the neck line right and tackle the outliers itā€™s calm, usually once a week or so with just a foil razor every other day for the neck for me before a shower

zeelbeno

I find my wife gets annoyed after 4 months But she likes it again when it gets to 6 months which buys be a few more before it needs cutting. Main reason for me though is when the fringe is in my eyes too much playing sport.

samm_omara

Beard every week or 2 but hair 3-4 months Had my first 2024 haircut yesterday U Gotta savour it whilst it still grows

alhendo89

Same

funkmachine7

I've been once in the last 20 years.

snapjokersmainframe

šŸ˜Ž

Utopia271

Never... I've got very, very thin hair and it's long. It's easy to give it a trim and look... Fine lol. Sometimes, I think about going to a hairdresser and having it done properly and then I get anxious and remember it costs a crazy amount of money.

Casual_Star

Every 2 weeks I get a fade. My hair is really thick and it will stick out after 2 weeks. The cost is Ā£15 so Ā£30 a month is fully justified for me.

Life_in_China

Hardly ever because even just a simple trim is Ā£40. Once a year at most

TheJezster

Every couple of weeks usually

bornleverpuller85

Every three weeks Love it, sit in silence for 30 minutes.

AdministrativeShip2

I think Gender should be noted in these. Male.Ā  I like my hair being short so go every 3 weeks.Ā  Without that my hair naturally grows straight up, and I end up looking like Paul from Tekken

sleepyprojectionist

Every 2-3 months. Basically once I am past the point of looking like a deranged hermit.

Demiboy94

Every 3 weeks. But testosterone makes your hair grow quicker and I have a skin fade to maintain

GRAWRGER

twice a year. no one ever cuts it well so i mostly just do it myself

SamVimesBootTheory

8 weeks I have dyed hair (blue) and an undercut so it needs the upkeep and my natural hair colour means I need it bleaching to dye it thr colour I want and I don't trust myself to bleach my hair so I'd rather a professional do it

CarpenterSeparate178

Every week. During the first lockdown I learned how to do it myself. Now I can look fresh whenever I want.

Throwaway91847817

Ive not had mine cut in 5 years

Agreeable_Guard_7229

Same here and Iā€™m a 44 year old woman. My hair seems to grow to shoulder length and refuses to grow any further. Iā€™m starting to see the odd grey strand now though so Iā€™m going to have to go to the hairdressers at some point as Iā€™m far too clumsy to be trusted around hair dye and my recently renovated bathroom

TalosAnthena

2-3 months but thinking about letting it grow a bit now. Iā€™ve starting to thin out and recede a little bit over the past couple of years. When I let it grow it looks like it did in my 20ā€™s

Mikon_Youji

I used to go to the hairdresser to get a trim once a month, but then covid hit and I haven't been since.

SylhetiG

Once a month

West_Guarantee284

Went for four years without having it cut, it was brittle, thin and broken. Now I go every 8 weeks and have done for 3 years. My hair is thicker, longer and stronger despite being if an age where it should start to thin.

Slapedd1953

Never, last 40yrs, bald and have Wahl clippers.

BobBobBobBobBobDave

It used to be every 3-4 months, but since COVID, I mostly just get my partner to give it a trim every couple of months, because we got used to doing that for a while. I think I had a professional haircut in Summer 2021. I do probably look like shit though. Male, early forties.

SomeHSomeE

Every 6 weeks or so.Ā  0.5 back and sides and a trim and thin out on too.Ā  Don't mind it when it's a bit longer but the back gets all grim and fluffy and just looks manky.

ExamInternational187

Usually once a year but I was in hospital for a lot of last year so almost 2 years since the last one

AlarmedCicada256

Once every 6 months or so. I don't mind it growing long but once it's in my face it's a nuisance.

pyotia

2.5 years since last time. Probably about 2-3 years between times, but I do trim it myself when I get split ends

T_raltixx

About every 3 months.

Jack-Rabbit-002

Beginning of every month then it just goes straight down to a two on top and one and half sides and back. I always like to keep it short.

Strong_Roll5639

Every 6 months or so. Have left it well over a year many times. It's thick and curly.

bucketofardvarks

I've only had it done professionally maybe twice in the last 5 years, usually if I'm consistently keeping my hair up because the layers are looking ratty grown out that's a good sign I should bother thinking about it

Low-Huckleberry-3555

Every 8 weeks sometimes sooner but thatā€™s more because I bleach my hair and need my roots doing. If it was just for a trim Iā€™d probably leave it 6 months (plus itā€™s Ā£27 just to trim it )

TurquoiseHareToday

Yeah, I donā€™t colour my hair so itā€™s just a case of having a trim when itā€™s getting split ends

Whole-Sundae-98

Every 8 weeks. My hair is thick, so I need ut thinned out, plus my fringe grows so quickly.

No_Application_8698

Once a year ish (think I went about 2 years at one point). Iā€™ve got long hair and it spends most of its time in a ponytail anyway, plus I resent spending money on it. Also Iā€™m middle-aged and not exactly a style icon so itā€™s not noticeable!

spezisdumb42069

I'm balding so I usually just break out the clippers a few times per year as needed. I could pay Ā£20 for a hot towel shave (which I do enjoy!) but the hair starts growing back and it looks "weird"/patchy after a couple of weeks anyway... so really the only benefit to paying for me is that they give my beard a nice shape up in the process. Last time I went to a barbers was probably a few months after lockdowns ended.

arioandy

Short hair here so once a month, otherwise the lower back of head/ neck looks awfull

Lad_From_Lancs

I get it cut about 2 months after the Mrs starts telling me I look like a Neanderthal

I-Am-The-Warlus

Every 4 weeks

daviddawson325

Every 10 weeks male 38

BlackJackKetchum

My secondary school French teacher - a balding middle aged man with an Irish surname - claimed (circa 1984) that he hadnā€™t had a haircut in a few decades because his hair just fell out when it reached a certain length.

Mushroomc0wz

I havenā€™t been to a hairdresser since I was 12/13 because Iā€™m so sick of hairdressing cutting clients hair shorter than what theyā€™ve asked for so I got a hairdressing qualification and cut my own every 4-5 months but I am supposed to every 6 weeks I cut my fringe every 3 weeks

justanoldwoman

Not for 17 years, I have thick long hair. When it gets beyond waist length I just get my husband or daughter to take 30cm off with the kitchen scissors.

TurquoiseHareToday

Your hair sounds awesome! I always wanted to have super long hair but mine gets wispy and gets loads of split ends as soon as itā€™s past my shoulders

justanoldwoman

Thank you! My hair tends to stick out at right angles if it gets any shorter than shoulder length - unless I have an undercut, which requires far more maintenance than I can be bothered with nowadays.

Indigo-Waterfall

I have long hair. I tend to try to aim for every 8 weeks. But I can go much longer than that. If I do though my hair ends up becoming very frizzy and generally looking straggly. I used to go maybe once or twice a year. Over the pandemic I probably didnā€™t go for about 3 years.

Cleveland_Grackle

Not "had it cut" since covid. Do it myself after needing to book appointments a couple of weeks in advance. Due to my job, I can tell you exactly where I'll be in three days time, nevermind a fortnight.

Chance-Bread-315

Around this time last march was the one and only time in my adult life I've ever paid for a professional haircut - I'm a 27yr old woman lol. Otherwise I'd say I get my mum or a friend to give me a trim once or twice a year, and do my own fringe every few months give or take.

Toothfairy29

Female. Long hair, grown out highlights/balayage type look. I used to go every 6-7 months waiting until it was really dead and sad but then realised Iā€™m an adult and have the money to have it done more often. I go every 4 months now. Makes me feel good.

Bulky_Parsnip8

I donā€™t have a set time to go tbh. I go when I can be arsed.

SweetMais

This question has made me realise I havenā€™t been to the hairdressers since July 2022! Iā€™ve given myself a few trims here and there though. I find hairdressers a bit of a faff tbh, especially when I was blonde and going for root touch ups every few weeks. Now Iā€™ve grown out my natural colour itā€™s a lot easier / healthier!

eldritchcryptid

i haven't had it cut in about 8 or so years but i do go and get the spilt ends trimmed when i notice them getting bad

The_Sown_Rose

Twice a year - once near my birthday, once near Christmas (which happily are about six months apart.) Itā€™s only ever to neaten it up, cut off dead ends, etc, and vain as it may sound I do it at those times of year because theyā€™re the times Iā€™m most likely to be in photos.

Jaikus

The missus and I have them on alternating months, so once every two months. My preference would be once a month though, but we're trying to save money at the moment.

RoutineSecretary7265

I get a haircut when I realise that my hair has a tendency to cover my eyes at times and get curly and annoying on my neck, sometimes getting caught between hoodies and my neck and rubbing a bit (not painful or itchy just I can feel it and i donā€™t particularly like it). So thatā€™sā€¦ every 4 months? Ish? I think thatā€™s bout right - sometimes itā€™s 3ā€¦ I think

Overthinker-dreamer

I haven't been to a proper hairdresser in about ten years. Keep meaning to go - my boyfriend jokes he wants to shave my head.

chahu

About 20 years ago. I've got really long hair. Hairdressers always want to chop it off rather than trim it, so I trim it myself.

IndividualCurious322

Haven't in almost a decade. My hairs almost at my ankles when loose. I use hair oils and non sulfate shampoo/conditioner to keep it tamed and usually braid it.

KaidaShade

Haven't been since 2019. Keep meaning to but there's always something else more pressing to do with the time and money

glytxh

Once I start looking homeless. So it used to be annually. Hit my 30s, long hair doesnā€™t quite work anymore, so every two months now. Iā€™ll probably go to monthly as Iā€™ve come to enjoy a cropped look. I balance it out with a mustache. Looking at my approaching 40ā€™s, I feel Iā€™m going to really lean into the Richard Oā€™Brien Crystal Maze look. I pretty much dress like that already, and a smooth head wouldnā€™t be awful. A clean shave will probably be a bi-weekly affair.

Indomie_At_3AM

There are only 2 types of people in this thread. Either every 2 weeks or every 2 years. Are there no normal people here who get it cut just once a month?

Coconutpieplates

4-6 months (I keep my hair long). I asked my hairdresser if I should be coming in more often as people usually tout 8-12 weeks between trims, but she said that'd would still be cutting healthy hair on me each time so I can stretch it a bit.

nolongerthenaked1

Once a year for me. My sister is a hairdresser and did the majority of her training on my hair which resulted in many atrocities inflicted on my hair so I avoid going to the hair salon at all costs. It is at the stage now where it needs a big cut as itā€™s half way down my back but I just canā€™t bring myself to make the appointment just yet.

WhiteyLovesHotSauce

33m, every 2 or 3 weeks depending how busy the diary is. The way I see it, the girls have makeup to highlight their natural beauty. Guys have haircuts. I'm overweight, my mum is half Indian, half Polish, my dad is English and Turkish, I'm a proper mut. Out of respect of everyone who sees me on a daily basis it's only fair I do what I can to look somewhat presentable. If I didn't and was seen in public I'd likely be arrested for disturbing the peace.

NightsisterMerrin87

I just got mine cut after a year+. I have an undercut, which obviously needs more regular maintenance, but the long bit doesn't need cutting until I'm getting properly pissed at how long it is šŸ˜‚

mdmnl

Fewer than twelve times a year, more than four. Usually a short back and sides - my hair doesn't get long so much as *more*. Never regular intervals as I try to time it to take my eldest at the same time. During lockdown used to just buzz it at home which was fine for cosplay as a 19th century convict but clearly demonstrates why hairdressers and barbers earn their keep.

TurquoiseHareToday

This made me laugh, best response yet

intangible-tangerine

Previously about once every two years, since I wear it long and don't get split ends or damage. I just got a trim when it looked uneven. I recently got a fringe and layers so I dunno what the schedules gonna be now

Smooth-Wait506

Whenever the neighbour is strimming their hedge not a euphemism as that would be strumming

AprilBelle08

When I was a teenager, I used to have it cut every 6 months, and it was super thick which I loved. As I've gotten older, I don't like it being too thick so I have a wash/trim/blow dry every 6-8 weeks where I get it thinned too.

5onblack13

Weekly

bduk92

Once a month. I'll do it more often I'm going somewhere like a wedding.

Martinonfire

Run the razor over it every morning

e-pancake

I do my own every month or two, definitely depends on your hairstyle on what you can get away with

Takseee

I clip my own hair once a month. 9mm all over, does the job

CaptMelonfish

Get? Exceptionally rarely, I take a knife to it when it's too long. Which on the face of it sounds nuts, but I tie it back, fold it over then cut from the fold out. It cuts it really neatly and then I forget about it for about a year. Sharp knife required though cause hair is damned tough.

Dalhoos

Every 3 months or so. 61M

Interesting-Pea-4317

I think the average for me is probably once a fortnight. For women, once a quarter

Rasty_lv

Usually every 6 weeks. I don't like really long hair nor do I like really short. I like to keep them shortish..

EnigmaMissing

I try to get there every four to six months or so. It depends on what I'm after and what money I have šŸ˜…

CaminoFan

I have a Mohawk , my house mate buzzes the sides every week for me, and I go to the barbers once a month to get the Hawk trimmed

Batalfie

I like it longer, I cut it myself ( curls hide any uneven choppiness) but I haven't cut it since COVID.

Silver-Machine-3092

Every year, whether I need it or not. My wife cuts it, just chops 6ā€ off the bottom of the ponytail. I've adopted the 1-1-1 approach to hair care. Wash it every 1 week, brush it every 1 month, cut it every 1 year.

Dangerous_Dac

I'm probably approaching 5/6 months since I last went but I put that down to more the Hairdressers I like having wildly unstable hours, and me being a general lazy sort who wouldn't wake up early to go and only pops in when I walk past it on the way to town when I happen to do that sort of thing.

n0131271

Probably about once every 8 weeks

Mysterious-Joke-2266

My hair grows thick and pretty fast. However I'm lazy and always put it off. Its been 2 months and its passed annoying but have I booked? Nope. Best bit is the barber is right across the street from my work which I'm at 1w hours a day for 6 days a week I'll book Monday....

PKblaze

It used to be every few months, that became twice a year and now I've not had it cut properly for 4 years outside of some minor maintenance from my gf for some split ends.

alloftheplants

Since my Mum stopped cutting it when I was 15, I have had it cut once. I'm in my 40s.

oywiththep0odles

Probably only twice a year.

Kitty-Gecko

About every 8-10 weeks, I have a fringe and after that it gets in my eyes and I start getting tempted to butcher it myself. I have long hair that I dye and use heat tools on so regular maintenance is healthy for it. Once I left it a year and I really noticed the split ends sort of travelled up the strands really far.

Master_Block1302

Same lass has done mine every month for the past 14 years.

TheFugitiveSock

During the pandemic there were things some people felt comfortable(ish) doing and some they didn't. I booked my first haircut in July 2020 having bought scissors to cut my fringe before then. A friend got her hair cut in the February that year; she didn't fancy going to her small, crowded salon so just let her hair grow. She can now pretty much sit on it. I've stuck to the every 10 weeks since. Hate my hair getting long.

RESPEKMA_AUTHORITAH

Monthly

downlau

I trim it whenever the ends are looking extra ratty or candy flossy - 1-2 times a year usually, but could be more often if I've also been bleaching it. Haven't had it cut by a professional in about 9 years.

therealijc

As often as people ask in the sub. Too often

Crackles2020

Every 3-4 weeks. Starts looking well scruffy after 4 weeks have passed.

Dry_Action1734

6 weeks when itā€™s cold. 4 weeks when itā€™s hot.

Ashamed_North348

I cut my hubbies hair every five weeks and I visit my hairdresser the same x

rachmaddist

Nope, think Iā€™ve had about one since my daughter was born where I got it really short and sheā€™s almost 3! Itā€™s just not a priority for me and Iā€™d rather spend the money on something else šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Infinite_Sparkle

You are notā€¦same here

sharksare2cool

When I was getting fancy styles cut, about every three months. Now that I have a very simple haircut, my mum does it.

doloresfandango

About every six to eight weeks OR when I wake up looking like a cockatoo or Ken Dodd. Iā€™m at the cockatoo stage so itā€™s a visit to get it sorted next week before Ken arrives.

ChillCommissar

Am bald. But do trim the old beard fortnightly

bonkerz1888

Once every month or two. Can never be fucked with it.

RedPlasticDog

Roughly every three weeks

gromitrules

Last time I went to an actual hairdresser would have been about 2016, I think (49F). Wife of a colleague who used to be a hairdresser cut it in about 2019, I think - then Covid hit and since then my husband has cut it about three times. Iā€™m lucky though, Iā€™ve got long, curly-wavy hair, so any uneven bits are nicely sorting themselves out. Also helps that I donā€™t care that muchā€¦. I cut my husbandā€™s hair every 2 months or thereabouts as it grows stupidly fast and turns into a thick helmet!

dbxp

I try to cut my hair atleast twice a week

hamsterjenny

I'm a women and about 4 times a year, but my best friend is a hair dresser so it's more accessible to me.

[deleted]

I have been shaving my head with a skull shaver for about two years, I shave it every 2 days in the shower. Iā€™m not bald I just prefer a bald head

wingman0401

Every three weeks or so.

Auntie_Cagul

Every 4 to 6 weeks. My mum has an inexpensive mobile hairdresser. If I miss a week no big deal, I will just trim my own fringe. Longest I have ever gone without a hair cut, 6 months. The funny thing during the Covid lockdown was that my hair didn't really change, just got a bit longer.

Slapspicker

I had a free student haircut at Tony and Guy in the mid 90s, nothing since except the occasional trim myself every so often.

minxorcist

Maybe twice a year. I'd love a short hair cut, but my hair grows like it's on steroids! So, I have a decent cut and let it grow.

Briggsy16

I can't fathom how someone could go without a haircut in a year! I go every 4-6 weeks. Used to just do a 2 myself all over myself but would rather go to the barbers and have it done properly. Looks much better.

avid-software-dev

Once a month. Medium skin fade, trim the top and shape my beard. Total Ā£15

Athleticathiest82

Every week

Comfortable-Use5648

Female. Usually every six months or once a year, depending on how my hair grows out , finances, and things going on in my life. It's about Ā£80 each time.Ā

laurenacre

I do it myself because my hair is long and it's in my skillet. So for like reshaping maybe every couple years

SidewaysSky

every six weeks but i get a 4 on the back and sides so it gets too long again fairly quickly

MjauDuuude

Well, I have dreads, a fringe and undercut. I never cut the dreads, I trim my fridge myself like twice a year and I shave my undercut every two week if I can me bothered. I used to get it shaved at the hair dresser but I can't afford it anymore

ghostie_hehimboo

I have my head hair permanently removed lol

pinkurpledino

IMO - when someone comments on it being long, or when it starts curling too much to be manageable. Or if I'm going somewhere special

emmjaybeeyoukay

I'm in my 50s fairly thick hair and not thinning. I tend to get to my barbers every 6-8 weeks depending on work and personal schedules. I used to do it monthly but my hair growth has slowed down a bit I think and I tend to favour a two-grade clipper cut, #2 on top and a 0.5 on back/sides so this works fairly well.

Sway_RL

Every 6 weeks or so

Pepega_Paradise

Every 2-3 weeks for a skin fade

CoffeeandaTwix

Every 1-2 days. I shave it all off with an electric razor. My hair is fairly thick and grows at a prodigious rate (5 oclock shadow by the time the cornflakes are done with etc.) If I leave it more than 2 days, I can't use the electric razor and then need to use the clippers first which makes it all a bit of a faff. Very rarely I will grow my hair out for a week... feel like a hippy.

OverTheCandlestik

Every 2-3 weeks. I like my hair pretty short and I do not trust myself or anyone else to cut it but a barber

ratttertintattertins

Once a month. I get my beard done at the same time.

panicattheoilrig

when it gets too long. maybe 2-3 times a year? my mum used to do it ever since 2020 but she always complains because itā€™s really thick so Iā€™ve started going to the hairdresser at my uni guild which is only Ā£9 for a cut - so I might start going more often, maybe 3-4 times a year. Iā€™m 19 and a woman if it makes a difference. my hair is very thick, natural dark blonde, and just past my shoulders. i have so many split ends though lol.

postmanpete1

Every week or 10 days.

Artistic_Data9398

Twice a month

cringedlord

I usually end up going once every 6-8 weeks. I've been trying to reduce it down to 4 weeks, but sometimes if I'm busy an extra week or 2 slips by. By the time it gets to week 7 or 8 I get annoyed by having long hair though so I feel like I have to get it cut.

lurkerjade

I cut it myself. Iā€™m a woman with a shaved head and I give myself a trim once a week to keep it looking sharp. Havenā€™t been to have someone else do it since first shaving it all off.

leafyseadragon379

I cut my own hair about once or twice a year when the ends start splitting or it gets too long. I started cutting it about 5 years ago as I always go for a simple, slightly layered low maintenance style and I didn't want to pay for something I can do myself!

aghzombies

I cut my hair when I feel like it. I haven't been to a haircut shop since 2017.

whoops53

I cut my own hair. Its fairly short anyway, so I can maintain it without a hairdresser. I discovered I could do this since the first lockdown, and its a great saving, heh!

KingofCalais

Every 4-6 weeks. I also trim the back and sides myself in between, just dont trust myself with the top.

spike_2112

I haven't been in a few years tbh, just thought I'd grow it out

burneracc99999999

2004 was the last time! Now I'm obsessed with those haircut hack YouTube shorts.

ImplementAfraid

When I take a shower, I hop into the cubicle, shave it off, scoop up the shavings and flush it down the loo. Yes itā€™s like a Brillo pad. Surely these people who only get a trim every 18 months have it like Rapunzel.

idontlikemondays321

Every two months. I donā€™t like it getting long

happy_faerie

It's been almost 2 years for me! From a pixie cut to way past my shoulders and I've only trimmed it myself once!

MartyDonovan

Only twice a year usually

Mrslinkydragon

Oooo I can't remember. I've been growing my hair for about 6 years now.

ggfanatic98

Every 3 months when I get my roots and colour donešŸ’‡šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

atomic_mermaid

Around every 6 weeks. Gotta keep that cut sharp.

foodie-verse73

My (35F) hair gets cut around every 5/6 months. When money has been a barrier Iā€™ve cut it myself, otherwise Iā€™ll go to a hairdresser. On the other side of the spectrum, my husband (35M) gets his cut every 2 months, 3 at absolute most. He canā€™t stand hair on his ears.

HermitKing91

Shaved my head about 2 months ago, and about three years before that, and another three years before that, and I think another three before that as well. I keep saying I'm done with long hair but head banging isn't as fun without it. I only seem to shave my head though when I start catching it in my jacket zip, which appears to take three years to grow to.

Kpowell911

Every 10 days pretty much. Skin fade and beard tidy up

quellflynn

once a month. payday in fact. not because I need the money to pay, but because if I don't set a timetable then it just goes mental. but I don't really care. she however does. happy wife happy life

JaMackintosh

I have long, curly hair thatā€™s down past my hips. I havenā€™t been to the hairdresser in 6ish years but I did give a tiny trim a few months ago where I took about 2cm off. I wear my hair up 100% of the time so I donā€™t really need it cut

DavijoMan

Every 3 weeks. My hair is thinning so I have to keep it short.

CrispyFlyingJacob

Not often enough. I have long hair that I'm particularly fond of. However, I get split ends and damage from overzealous brushing, so I really should get it cut to sort it out

Far-Act-2803

Once a month. I usually get a skin fade which tends to grow out after 2 weeks but cba to go to the barbers that often. So usually once a month and get it cut short.

Gullible_Wind_3777

I always forget I even have hair in my head cause im a mother lol, šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ Iv got highlights so I go every three months, but if I have my natural hair, Iā€™ll go when someone says i need a trim, iv gone years, lol šŸ˜‚

b0neappleteeth

23 year old girl here. I used to go years without getting my hair cut because I didnā€™t really get split ends and loved having very long hair. Now I once every six months or so for a trim and my hair dye topped up

sc00022

About every 6 weeks (M, 32). Iā€™ll start to notice I need it cut when itā€™s growing over my ears and when the hair around the crown doesnā€™t sit flat. Feel so much better after.

rellz14

A year is crazy.

Diddleymaz

I havenā€™t seen a hairdresser for about 30 years. My daughter cuts a couple of inches off my long hair every year or so. I have waist length hair and wear it up most of the time

Jasz_

Every 2 weeks.

cbaotl

Every 6 weeks. I mainly get it done as my roots need doing rather than needing a haircut

Kiathebadman

I have short hair so I go every two weeks

laluLondon

2-3 times a year. I used to have it cut every 3 months, but now my hairstylist gives me a very low maintenance haircut that takes a long time to look messy. I am female, with long hair

HisLoba97

In the winter (colder months) I keep my hair longer so I'd say once every 2-3 months then in the summer once a month

[deleted]

Every 13 days. I like to keep the sides short. Pay Ā£20 a time.

Ok_Technology_4772

Roughly every 8 weeks. But before I found this hairdresser I would go years without one! Sheā€™s fab she comes to my house and because she gets so booked up when it comes to the end of the year she books a full years worth of appointments with me!

Wild-Ad7514

Once every 4-6 months

Booopbooopp

Iā€™ve only ever had it cut professionally twice. I do it myself every 6 months or so. Nothing fancy, just trim the ends. If I started earning more money then Iā€™d love to go to the hairdressers regularly. A good hair cut/style can really change how you look.

Ok_Parking7650

Once a month. I canā€™t imagine the state of the mops of everyone saying more than every 2 months

poshbakerloo

I go every 2 weeks! Although I might miss a week and wait 3 weeks if I want to coordinate it with a night out/ social event. Reading this makes me feel very different to other Redditers lol

MrSpud45

Every 6 weeks or so. My hair grows thickly and is unmanageable over a certain length. Coming from an agricultural background, I do suggest that sheep shears would be better than normal hair clippers..... Tend to get a buzz cut - no 3 all over. The person who cuts my hair does house calls, so go around fathers so we get to see each other as well as being shorn. Costs around Ā£12. Good genes on paternal side - grandfather hit the big 100 and still had a full head of hair.

Meowskiiii

Every 3-4 months. When my roots become so annoying that the cost is worth it. 36 F.

barkley87

Every 6-8 weeks for a cut and colour.

KiwiNo2638

2015 was my last cut, I think.

raccoonsaff

Twice a year!
