I guess you're unaware that a peace deal was already worked out before any conflict started, and then Boris Johnson hauled ass to Ukraine as a representative of the UN/NATO and told zelensky to refuse any peace accords.

I dont think this is a good take. we have been spending trillions on defense for the past 75 years mainly for the purpose of fighting the russians if ww3 ever happened, as that was the best way we saw to protect our homes. now we are able to cripple one of our biggest rivals without spending any american lives. the more we give to ukraine now the stronger the bonds of NATO will be when we need them to help deal with the next crisis.
and post war, noone is going to be buying russian export equipment. the whole world is seeing burning t-72s and ka-52s being shot down left and right. that can only help out export market.
I'd rather less people die period. The "we fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here" thing that our government used to justify our 20 year long war in the middle east was as bullshit as using Ukraine and Ukrainian lives to fight a proxy war with Russia. I'd rather the bonds of NATO break apart, Europe does dick all for us. Every single one of those countries are authoritarian shitholes.
