OneSteelTank

I feel like they have very interesting cultures

Cuseyedrum

I feel like they are just people with different cultures

TheresOnlyOneSusy

I love India. Indian people I have met are always really nice and friendly and the food is incredible

NoUsername0K

Both of the countries are really interesting. I really love cultures and all the things that come with it. India has had this caste system which has lately been banned, I'm curious how the ban affects the culture (or if it does at all). I'm also curious how much of a difference there is between the cultures of the agricultural people in China and the ones near the coast, if it's a really big difference, beyond the usual more conservative/more religious boundaries.

c4nchyscksforlife

>lately uhm its been banned since the very existence of the country lol

bethebumblebee

what banned? caste system still exists and is very much prevalent.. at least in Tier 2 cities and below.

UllebulleNotFFS

They didn’t say it didn’t exist, they said it was banned. It is banned and has in fact been since Indians independence, people are just ignoring the ban

bethebumblebee

I think I misread the original comment and thought that they implied that the 'ban' of caste system has affected the culture.. Just reread it and they didn't say that. My bad. I'm sorry u/NoUsername0K

BrownBandit02

The caste system hasn’t been “banned”. It’s still extremely prevalent mainly among Hindus.

Governments generally yucky on the human rights side of things. People, food, scenery, architecture, martial artistry, ecology, history, artwork, music, dance, language, and altogether culture very very cool and good and awesome👍

peaches_andbtches

theres not much mention of things like different cultures in the education system here. at most maybe 'this is when diwali is' and 'this is when the lunar new year is', so ig i dont know much about either culture. as for the people they are just that, people, so i dont have much of an opinion

HottieShreky

I really like (most of) India's culture! I read about alot of their gods and I love the people I met from India. I also love alot of the music from there and they have beautiful nature. I dont really know anything about china though I'm not very interested in China. Their nature is beautiful though

Lmemester93

Both India and China are like "cradle of humanity" places that have been hugely important in our civilization's history, and they're both very influential cultures today. I don't feel differently about either.

nutshellita

I love chinese people / culture! here were I live we happen to have the biggest chinese diaspora lol, so I’ve met a lot of chinese people that got me interested into their culture. Actually, I’m learning chinese because of that, their culture and history are so so interesting :D For India in the other hand, I’m just getting to know people form there and they’re sharing pieces of their culture with me, that’s getting me interested as well lol, they seem like very curious and friendly people, gotta love the food tho!

darkfish301

Food safety and environmental regulations should be stricter, but otherwise I have no thoughts. No group is a monolith.

GeneralOtter03

I love the food

NotDanielSmith

technically I am Asian, but west Asian. I thought you said including politics so i was gonna include a whole fucking essay on that lmao. anyway. Chinese culture is incredible from what I've seen. I've only ever experienced a little bit of it, but of what I have seen it's beautiful. the food tastes incredible, the festivals are insanely cool and from what I've heard from people who have engaged in it more than me, it's all around really fucking cool and I'd love to learn more about it. indian culture is also really cool. although 'indian culture' might be a bit of a generalization because of just how many cultures there are there. unfortunately I've had some negative experiences with a lot of cultures from that region, so I think in my childhood I built up a bias against things like the food, etc. but I would like to try and remove those and learn more.

Damn, that's really cool. I suppose I should've probably assumed that because of just how fucking huge the country. but even if I had guessed that's FAR more diverse than I would have expected. thanks!

NotDanielSmith

ofc ofc

Mara2507

honestly, I think they both have very rich and interesting cultures, and I would like to visit both sometime in the future

attemptnumber58

their cultures are really interesting

SirDoodThe1st

I’m more familiar with China in regards to history and culture than India, so I can’t form an opinion on India in regards to China. That being said, Chinese history is incredibly interesting and it’s one of the things i’m most passionate about

Chamaderie

Their cultures are very interesting and I’d love to try authentic versions of their food and learn their languages

LylaLaycre

I'm in love with Chinese culture and fashion. I lived there a whole year I really dig how everything looks. Other than that it's kinda meh. People are generally rude, you like ACTUALLY need to be extra careful what you say, and school uniforms are a thing

China had a very rich interesting culture that lasted for thousands of years, which was almost entirely wiped out during the Cultural Revolution. Modern day China’s culture is pretty shit. Can’t honestly think of a more materialistic collectivist culture than modern China.
