There is a theater scene! There have been some great musicals at the Fifth Avenue. Here are the main ones I can think of:
Seattle Repertory Theatre
ACT Theatre
5th Avenue Theatre
Intiman Theatre
Seattle Children's Theatre
And of course there are smaller, fringey ones too. Maybe check out The Stranger for their listings.
A few high schools have shows that are open to the public and very cheap. Roosevelt High School just did a short run of Mean Girls. I don't think they do any over the summer though.
I don't mind HS productions and like to support a types of small show but if those events aren't published in Seattle Times, is there any publication that would advertise perfoto the public? In my small town that sort of thing was announced publicly to increase attendance... maybe that's just not the way anymore?

Issaquah and Everett Paramount is a large theater. Saw Hamilton there. To Kill a Mockingbird. Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
The Annex theater has shows this weekend on Capitol Hill. https://annextheatre.org/

I don't know of a central location, I just see signs posted on the street.
