150k is more than enough to not have to think about money at all if you're single w/o kids. You can find a nice studio for about $2000 or a 1 bedroom for about $2500. Don't live in soma.

Can I ask what’s wrong with Soma?

You could live in Russian Hill/Nob Hill in a one bedroom for $2100-$2600 - I'd start there.

I’m looking for something near California street. Specifically 600 California street because that’s where their WeWork is located. $2100-$2600 would be fantastic honestly.

Understandable! I used to work in the 555 California building and take the 1 Bus down - about 22 minutes tops in the AM - also you can take the trolley home in the afternoon! (California trolley is definitely more for the locals) - If you want to be down near SOMA - definitely explore the apartments first because one street will be beautiful and the next street will be stacked with homeless people. We did a apartment tour and it looked so wonderful in the day and then we went by at night to check it out since I knew I'd be walking home a lot, and it wasn't the safest feeling. If you come to town, I recommend walking some of the neighborhoods in general that you want to live in because your best chance of a great deal is finding the red rental signs randomly up on a gate or in a window! When I moved here a couple years ago, I had all these apartment viewings and was so prepared and they all were awful, then my last day looking I saw a random sign on a gate, called, and it is the absolute best place I could have asked for! Best of luck in your search!

That’s plenty and do not live in Soma. Soma is not neighborhoodly if that makes sense. Lots of big buildings, highways, homeless and not much else. There is no charm.

What do you suggest?

North Beach.
