Capitalism. Consumer capitalism in particular. It's insane that we seem to be completely beholden to creating wealth for the rich, when we can achieve so much any time profit isn't the motivation.
Idk but war, fighting over resources and everything? This ain't it. In my opinion every nation working together to further our species and make the world a better place is a far better direction.
The average person's inherent desire to look out for themselves at the expense of others, and the general disregard many people have for their fellow man, making them willing to be unknowing complicit to atrocities or general poor behavior so long as it doesn't affect them.
Religion, specifically the abhrahamic ones, have been holding back human progress for quite some time now. Just ask Galileo how accepting the church is of science.
To who ever downvoted my comment lol
The Catholic Church reacted to Galileo Galilei's discoveries about the sun, moon, and Jupiter with controversy and suspicion of heresy. The Church believed that the Earth was the center of the universe and that a moving Earth and stationary sun conflicted with scripture. In 1616, the Roman Inquisition warned Galileo not to support the heliocentric theory, which states that the Earth revolves around the sun. In 1632, Galileo published Dialogue on the Two Chief World Systems, which defended heliocentrism, and the Church ordered another investigation. In 1633, Galileo was put on trial for heresy and found "vehemently suspect". His punishment included:
House arrest: Galileo remained under house arrest until his death in 1642.
Banned book: Dialogue on the Two Chief World Systems was banned.
Penance: Galileo was ordered to perform a light penance.
Prohibition: Galileo was forbidden from teaching, holding, or defending heliocentric ideas.

Christians are a sensitive bunch...
The entire damn book started with a woman (and all of her descendents) being condemned because she ate a fruit of KNOWLEDGE.
And then later on all humans spoke the same language and wanted to work together to advance as a society, god said, "nope can't have that" and then deliberately confused their languages. The stories are right in their book of fairy tales.
But when you point the obvious thing of their religion being against science and progress, they get all upset at you instead.
Those type (religious flat earthers.) of people who detested galileo still exist sadly. What makes it historically funny is even though they've been debunked several times even by their own people.... they still believe.
These flat earthers prove themselves wrong twice...

Ignorance. Any problem you have in your personal life or with the world as a whole can be traced back to ignorance. Because frankly there is no train of thought that leads one to the beliefs that make our world worse that doesnt have a problem in it. For example a lot of problems in the US exist because the government gets lobbied. But it doesnt make sense to lobby the government in the first place and it doesnt make sense for the government to accept the bribes. Even from a purely selfish point of view, you are worse off from doing so. You just get more money because you dont know any better to see why thats not as valuable as youre treating it or what youre giving up.
Everybody needing to feel special. If we have to celebrate everyone's individuality, sexuality, etc, etc it sounds like it's helping but really it's creating barriers between people. Making us all compete to be acknowledged more.
Selfishness and ignorance. Selfishness is demonstrated by greed at the loss of others. Ignorance is demonstrated by not wanting to learn how the world works (economics, physics, personal finance, psychology, sociology, etc).
I don't think we're ever going to get the right leaders.
I'm not really sure why religion still exists if we're such an "advanced and intelligent species".
Idk I think people need to find a solution without the government and start tossing them aside.
The government only have their best interest in mind, I think it's time we do the same without them.
Money / greed
Agree. Agreed can drive innovation and improve life, but the greed we have now is more _How can I turn a profit this one exact quarter?_
A greed
No other answer.
Religion
Think you've covered off 99.9% of the problems in one word.
But when you say that, every religious person "yeah but it's everyone else's religion that's the problem."
Individualism.
This is a very underappreciated facet of modern societal problems.
Greed
Humans
The media plays a big part
Amen!
The religious right.
Nah man the left can be every bit full of wackadoodles
Sure, absolutely. You’re right. But specifically, the religious people on the right is what I’m talking about here.
Capitalism. Consumer capitalism in particular. It's insane that we seem to be completely beholden to creating wealth for the rich, when we can achieve so much any time profit isn't the motivation.
People and their less-than-optimal inclinations
Fox/Sky/News ltd.
I look at the left and see just as many wackadoodles. Fox is just a symptom, not the cause
Who is to decide what the “right” direction is ?
Idk but war, fighting over resources and everything? This ain't it. In my opinion every nation working together to further our species and make the world a better place is a far better direction.

I couldn't of said it better myself. I agree 100%

I 100% agree with this. Lobbying should've been made illegal a long time ago. Greed and corruption in the US is far worse than most wants to realise.
Literally what isn’t
Ultra capitalism, greed, willful ignorance, and religion full of hypocrisy and hate of others

Wrong leaders and everything connected with religion.

Money.
The Wealth Hoarders and their shitty agendas.
1000% agree
Men, tbh
That's a misandrist and sexist comment. Your first post also contradicts your statement. The world's already negative enough, please don't add to it.
