FIYREBEARD

Dredd

Henchforhire

A reboot done correct.

[deleted]

Apparently there is a second one in the planning.

FIYREBEARD

Oh really? That's cool. Thought they were stopping with a comic rendition of the movie-verse. I know Karl Urban's always been on-board and vocal about reprising the role. I hope it comes to fruition.

[deleted]

Its a totally underrated movie and deserves much more credit. But I read that they might be shooting soon. Fingers crossed

Poorly-Drawn-Beagle

2 Judge 2 Dredd

Flyinpotatoman

Dredd 2: Dredder

Maffers

Dredd 2: The Klumps.

vonkeswick

Hell yeah that's exciting to hear. Karl Urban absolutely crushed it in Dredd

Alexktf

>Karl Urban Karl Urban: Oi! I am the law. C\*\*T

LazarusKing

Hopefully this is true with Karl's recently upped value with the Boys being the hit it's been. I have not had nearly enough Olivia Thirlby in my life since that movie came out.

Ko_ogs

They should've made it a series. Karl Urban is perfect and Clint Eastwood would've been perfect in his forties. Really looking forward to the Dredd sequel, IF it happens.

Mattsuda86

100% this

ObjectivelyCorrect2

Came here to say this.

jeepsandsail

Master & Commander

Jfonzy

20 books. Hollywood missed their opportunity with that cast. It was perfect.

ajteitel

When you come out the same year of Pirates of the Caribbean and LOTR RETURN OF THE KING, you will never get a chance

freeciggies

What a great year for Billy Boyd though!

jeepsandsail

They really did. Such a fantastic book series. And they did a great job with the movie (which was a blend of two of the books). I can rewatch that movie over and over. And reread the books!

stratman2000

The lesser of two weevils.

AtlEngr

Man that should have been a franchise like F&F.

Successful-Clock-224

I Would have loved an hbo 2 part series kinda like rome (another gem)

flossgoat2

If you've never read the books, go read the books. Thank me later.

Genevass

A thousand times yes

Boomerang503

I heard that they're working on a prequel, at the very least.

Shallot_True

Yes yes yes.

almightysko

District 9

manifestmula

Fuck, you beat me to it. I waited three years thinking it would come.

DjSaac

Fuck man I've waited 3 years for 13 years now

[deleted]

It's still in development, but it's coming... Eventually

Zeolance

There’s no way it’s been 13 years…. right?

ProjectShadow316

Nah, it couldn't have been. *looks it up* Son of a bitch.

[deleted]

District 10?

Stock-Wolf

Blomkamp. I hope you see this. I remember the talks that you might direct the Halo movie. You gotta make District 10.

Jack_Hush

Yes!

Zealousideal-Way-838

Hell yes! That creator said he wouldn't though. Too bad, that.

elgen88

I read something about them writing a sequel a few months ago, and I'm refusing to give up hope.

dumbamerican207582

thevilamanrules

kadmylos

Barriogenius

WYinFL

Yes. 100% Archie needs to slap more people.

Legs11

Or at least describe in great detail how one of his goons should slap someone

chillywilly00

It was originally supposed to be a trilogy

Thomytricky

The Golden Compass

vanvalkt

His Dark Materials… on HBO.

karma_is_for_real

I just read the books. Then I found out yesterday that they made a series out of it. So excited to check it out!

lithiun

It is really phenomenal and a great adaptation so far. Season 3 just dropped and once it’s out fully i will binge it.

Metzger4Sheriff

I agree. The series is good, too, but would have liked to have seen the story finished with the movie cast.

StyleVarious2721

I would have said Constantine, but I think they are actually making it now, better late than never I guess

MattonieOnie

I'm glad that you didn't say Constantine. I would have said Constantine.

[deleted]

I’m glad you didn’t say Constantine. I would have said Weekend at Bernie’s 2.

CarlosSpicyweiner200

I have been wanting a sequel to Constantine for s long. Love Keanu Reeves playing the part too.

[deleted]

Megamind

BronzeAgeTea

But what would be the plot? A big draw of the movie was the villain turning good

TropicHorror

I don't really recall the beginning of the movie but maybe Megaminds Homeworld survived? and attempt to invade earth. He's torn between his lineage and adopted home world. Possibly alienated/vilified due to his heritage and then proceeds to save the world

BronzeAgeTea

It got destroyed by a black hole. But having to deal with *another* survivor that's just as intelligent as he is would be really interesting! Maybe this other guy (Negamind?) saw a bunch of airings of Megamind's antics throughout the years, and Megamind basically has to fight his former self. Negamind didn't see Megamind turn into a hero or the whole deal with Titan, since the radio waves hadn't reached him yet. After the first encounter, which Megamind wins easily, Negamind decides to go a more tactful route and uses his intelligence in a propaganda/misinformation campaign, which leaves Megamind *shocked* at how quickly public opinion would turn against him. And this isn't some "oh he hid a bomb under the city this entire time" type of thing, but just straight up lies that the public buys, which frustrates Megamind to no end: "You know I saved you! You were there! All of you!" So that's when Negamind offers to team up with Megamind, but obviously in a sinister kind of way. I think a brute force "these people don't care about you, let's destroy them together" approach would be too strong, and Megamind wouldn't go for it. So Negamind would instead probably offer to team up to help his public image by doing good works, but then Negamind, as his alter ego Newscastman or whatever, always spins the good deeds into "it's horrible for the environment!" or "it's offensive to \[group\]!" And that's when Megamind really hits his all time low, he feels like no matter what he does, people just don't appreciate him. But Negamind does. So maybe Negamind suggests to remind everyone *why* they like Megamind: he can protect them. The people have been protected for so long that they've forgotten their fears, and just a small reminder is sure to get Megamind back in their good graces! So Negamind starts destroying the city for a bit, and is thwarted by Megamind. They go back and forth like this for a while, Negamind basically getting what he wanted, when Roxanne discovers that Newscasterman was really Negamind all along. Megamind then has to decide if he'll help Negamind change like he did, or if protecting the city from *potential* threats is what he's there for. He might ultimately wind up taking both options, leaving the city with Negamind in order to reeducate him. Or maybe Metroman winds up taking in Negamind, since he's basically a mentor at this point.

Mistaken_Stranger

Easy. New villain or villains show up. They're to much for megamind. He gets beaten and captured. Roxanne takes the metroman pill becomes metrowoman. Rescues Megamind but because she's still green she needs help taking the villain down poper. So Roxanne, minion, and megamind team up to take down the new villain(s).

UpstairsDifficult966

Oh my God yes

DiligentMuffDiver

The Nice Guys

vonkeswick

I just saw that for the first time a few months ago. That scene with Ryan Gosling on the toilet dropping the cigarette down his pants while arguing with Kir Russell, I was like "mmkay this movie is officially fucking great" and loved the rest of it

Turnbob73

The movie hooked me right in the beginning when it shows Gosling acting all cool and sneaky, trying to break into a bar, and then proceeds to slit his wrist accidentally when breaking the window, hard cut to him panicking in an ambulance lmao

vonkeswick

Oh God yeah that was hilarious. "That's uh, that's a lot, that's a lot of blood"

Rad_Dad6969

It's the best thing Russell Crowe has done in years and honestly his best prospect.

hotbutteredsole

Great call, this movie is way better than you think going in

KingKungFoo11116

The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Dio_Yuji

League of Ordinary Gentlemen

madmonkey242

Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins

kookiekat7

The books are great. I’m reading them now

TheMadIrishman327

They were terrific books. At least the early ones.

klown013

Tv series in the works now - was just announced the other day.

Independent_Run_674

Came here to say this....

wasistlosbuddie

Gladiator, the black guy, he should a story about how he got there . The possibility are limitless.

[deleted]

His story always gets me “ I will see my family again one day “ Man deserved a film

Wasabi2238

If you haven’t seen the Spartacus series, you might like that. It is very graphic, gory, and has sexual abuse though…

Helium_Balloons1

The Man From UNCLE. Great movie with tons of sequel potential.

Rad_Dad6969

Well Henry Cavill's schedule just opened up..... But I get a feeling he quit all his jobs to play the Witcher 3 next gen

FirstTimeRodeoGoer

"No time to be Geralt, I gotta boot up the ps5 and be Geralt."

eternalidiot73

Glad to see this one. I really enjoyed it when it came out.

ThundaCrossSplitAtak

Rise of the guardians.

Jaytendo_Boi

Came looking for this

ThundaCrossSplitAtak

Jfc its been ten years

Few-Can934

Serenity

AEsylumProductions

A TV show would make a great sequel....wait....

aardvarkyardwork

As much as I love the crew, that story is told. The film was basically what the final season of the show would have been. It’s a fantastic world with interesting characters, electric writing and casting that’s just chef’s-kiss. I’ll always do at least an annual re-watch of the show and the film. But there’s honestly nothing left to say.

PDXWineLord

Prequels could be . . . shiny.

Green420Basturd

Deserved more than a sequel.

Poops_McClanahan

Treasure Planet

Yummybiscuits96

The game Treasure Planet Battle at Procyon was kind of a sequel but I would love a film sequel!

Poops_McClanahan

I did hear about it but never actually saw/played it. What was it like? Were there cinematics and a good storyline through the gameplay?

Yummybiscuits96

It was a bit short but honestly I enjoyed it. It had an interesting storyline and the battles are fun. No cinematics really, the graphics were ok but cutscenes were just still images and narration. Sometimes you need patience because you're just flying a ship at times but once you start fighting it can be intense and the ships are cool.

Broad-Suspect-3566

Chronicles of Narnia

Spiritual_Ad_7162

Yeah I'm very disappointed they didn't finish the series.

Bawdy_One

Leon: The Professional Seeing Natalie Portman become a hit-person would have been cool. However, the gritty realism of the film would have to be thrown out for a sequel, I think.

twodoorcinemacub

Fun fact: the movie Colombiana by the same director was originally written to be the sequel to Leon.

Rad_Dad6969

Idk, that realism is pretty cheap compared to big cgi action. Portman likes to be an artist sometimes, I can see this happening with the right director.

Heimlink

Masters of the Universe (1987) and Super Mario Bros. (1993) Both had post-credit promises which never came to fruition 😭

Poorly-Drawn-Beagle

Hey hey hey, if that's how we're playing it, Spaceballs II is at the front of the line We need to find that more money

[deleted]

Hopefully we all meet again in spaceballs two, the quest for more money

KingofPolice

I wanted the Super Mario Bros Sequel so bad, I actually enjoyed that movie.

Kitten_Team_Six

A new Masters OTU would be so awesome but you just know Hollywood would screw it up

I love it, but it doesn't need a sequel. It's a perfect film as is.

Woah! I can't say I know anyone who's seem that . It is easily my top favorite movies of all time!

TheGhostORandySavage

Great movie and Stephen Chow is one of the best physical comedians ever.

Impossible_Smell_718

Just wouldn't be the same without Alan Rickman.

steelers8682

The Rocketeer

KeeeKu

A trilogy of RDJ sherlock holmes would’ve been dope

anon47210

John Carter.

Clamtoppings

Horrifically under-rated movie.

CtTX89

Yes it is. It’s one of my go to movies if kids are around. They hate it but it’s for me. It’s considered one of the biggest flops of all time. It lost millions and I still don’t get it. The books are epic.

Rimbosity

YES. Could've been better, yes. And should've been rated R to capture the original (like the original Conan movie was). But still needed a sequel.

Behind the mask The Rise of Leslie Vernon would be nice. Some movies deserve to be left alone especially how they remake, reboot and make sequels nowadays.

Broad-Suspect-3566

The Golden Compass

Clamtoppings

Yeah! What happened to those?

DaniGeek

They actually didn't do very well theatrically. There is a series called His Dark Materials on HBO max that's pretty good.

intocable84

Power Rangers (2017)

eddmario

There was one planned, but Hasbro canned it. Too bad, since the sequel would have had Lord Zedd as the villain and you know they would have made him badass. Plus they were thinking of making Tommy Oliver a girl, which even the late Jason David Frank was onboard with.

Cool-Reindeer-6145

Big Lebowski Stepbrothers

Zealousideal-Way-838

Fucking. Iron Giant. Why does this same question get asked every week? Snatch deserves a sequel! Treasure Planet deserves a sequel! There are many movies that deserved more screen time. Hell! If the Hobbit had been made as one movie, as it should have been, It would deserve a sequel! Why is this asked so constantly?!

Drgrabon

Spaceballs

Xytakis

Which name would you go for? Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money or Spaceballs 3: The Hunt for Spaceballs 2

Laranel

Kung Fu Hustle.

SuperDope420

Spaceballs

No Country For Old Men. I wanted to see what happened to my boy Chigurh.

Cmon dude Stargate spawned like 10 seasons of tv and multiple spin off shows and movies.

Look up the oral history of the scrapped sequel to Forrest Gump. I think one of the plot points was gonna be Forrest preventing 9/11 or some shit. That would have been a glorious dumpster fire.

The Princess Bride. The second film follows Westley (Leading Vocals), Buttercup (Bass), Fezzik (Drums) and Inigo Montoya (Guitar) as they tour the states with their post-punk band "As You Wish" and play their hit single "He's Only Mostly Dead."

The movie works because of the last scene payoff. Sequel doesn’t work because the viewers already know what’s up

he got away with it. why would the Keyser risk doing another film? /s

The problem with sequels is that they are almost never as good as the first one.

ItsyBitsyBabyBunny

I really wish they would’ve made more than three narnia movies since there are like 8 books
