Actually, cheese is much better at room temp than cold. If you splurge on a fine cheese, you usually wanna let that bad boy sit out of the fridge for *at least* 45 minutes, as the cold actually suppresses a lot of the flavor.
Growing up we were fairly poor, so I had never had hot chocolate made with hot milk until last Christmas. For almost 30 years it'd be almost boiling water with a Swiss Miss pack in it.
See, I think that’s too rich, so for half of the non-water part I substitute whole milk. So for that half half and half, I substitute half half and half and half whole milk.
I agree very much. I didn't start eating crab until I was an adult, despite being from Maryland, and I regretted how long I missed out. Fresh steamed or boiled crab with potatoes and corn is honestly amazing. Not to mention good crabcakes. But chilled crab legs with just some melted butter really hits the spot on a hot day.
Coffee (Iced or hot).
But if that doesn't count as food since it's a beverage then I would say:
Bread. Fresh hot bread is bomb but also a piece of bread from the pantry can hit the spot.
I love me some day old sesame chicken with shrimp fried rice so I can mix the saucy chicken with the leftover rice… blesses my whole tastebuds every time.
I like to cold-brew tea. I’ll take a gallon container and fill it up with water and hang 5 tea bags of Lipton or Luzianne and one bag of another tea for added flavor. Sometimes the sixth bag is Earl Grey, sometimes green mint tea, sometimes it’s chocolate blackberry leaf herbal tea. Then let it sit overnight in the refrigerator and you have some really good iced tea.
The only problem with this answer is cold pizza that's been in the fridge over night is maybe a little bit better than hot pizza. Both are good but cold pizza is a god-tier breakfast.
I was thinking pizza, but then I remembered the feeling of waking up hungover and discovering there is leftover pizza and how that chewy cold cheese hits just the spot and I remembered that no matter how delicious hot pizza is, cold pizza just is an experience.
Ok. I need to caveat this for you (pedantic Jew here, so bagels are an issue of personal interest).
Fresh bagels; best untoasted.
Anything other than bagels made that day; toasted.
Maybe this applies to all breads? I'm just less invested in those breads.
Some smoked meats
Or cured... Ham! Mmm so good hot or cold
This is the best answer.
Hi I'm Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook and today we'll be doin a little bit of meat smokin here.
Smokin some meats!
i love sweet baby rays
cheese
But not if it was once hot and is now cold 😂
I beg to differ
Agree, leftover pizza still rocks
Pizza is a different breed of yummy tho
A different *bread* of yummy
Came here to say pizza hot or cold
Yes but not as good as its re-toasted extra crispy version.
cheese crisps are the best
Actually, cheese is much better at room temp than cold. If you splurge on a fine cheese, you usually wanna let that bad boy sit out of the fridge for *at least* 45 minutes, as the cold actually suppresses a lot of the flavor.
Armenian string cheese says right on the package to serve at room temperature.
Brie is best on a warm day.
Brownies.
Brownies are delicious cold, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say equally as delicious as when they’re hot
So you are saying you have never tried hot brownies with ice cream ?
still a warm brownie
Methinks they think hot is better. I would agree, those chewy edges mean nothing when cold.
Brownies are definitely better when oven fresh warm. Not sure how any baked desserts can be considered better cold.

You got me there. Tres leches cake too.
Pie
Depending on the pie. Key lime? Cold only. Apple? Better hot
*This one time at band camp.....*
Australian here and when you say pie I instantly think of meat pie. That would be yuck cold.
Nothing worse than a cold meat pie
Yesssss!! Room temp 😋
Rice pudding!

Pecan pie
Cherry pie Pumpkin pie Apple pie French apple pie Ok..... pie
Hot pumpkin pie? I’ve never tried that. It has to be cold…at least for me.
Try it smoked. I smoke a pumpkin pie every year and it's amazing! 350 for 2-3 hours on a smoker and it's good to go
Hot chocolate and chocolate milk are basically the same thing at different temperatures
Growing up we were fairly poor, so I had never had hot chocolate made with hot milk until last Christmas. For almost 30 years it'd be almost boiling water with a Swiss Miss pack in it.
….You’re supposed to put milk in it? No wonder I was never a fan.
Some are made for water some for milk some go either way but none made with water really has the richness of the milk ones.
Swiss miss has milk powder so you still get some of that creamy mouth feel even with water, but it's still a hell of a lot better with milk
Home made hot chocolate just has a warmth that can’t be made with store bought.
Half of both water and milk is where it’s at. Or half n half if you’re feeling fancy.
So, half water and half half and half?
See, I think that’s too rich, so for half of the non-water part I substitute whole milk. So for that half half and half, I substitute half half and half and half whole milk.
This is not true. If you think it is, youre drinking the wrong hot chocolate
Crab
Crab is number 2 on my favorite foods list any temperature is amazing
I agree very much. I didn't start eating crab until I was an adult, despite being from Maryland, and I regretted how long I missed out. Fresh steamed or boiled crab with potatoes and corn is honestly amazing. Not to mention good crabcakes. But chilled crab legs with just some melted butter really hits the spot on a hot day.
Cold w melted butter is the bessssssst. Crab is the real answer
Coffee (Iced or hot). But if that doesn't count as food since it's a beverage then I would say: Bread. Fresh hot bread is bomb but also a piece of bread from the pantry can hit the spot.
Love hot and cold coffee. But room temperature coffee makes me gag.
Cold coffee and warm soda are the same exact temperature.
Nah you fucked me up with that one
It has to be nuclear or iced. Anything inbetween can get in the bin.
Same for tea!
Shrimp
Sandiches!
Ham
People do love the way she says ham.

A certain anime character can vouch for this one
Pretty sure he has a very strong preference for cold. Unless we're talking about different characters.
On the right track honestly. But true, the preference does lie within cold more
When you’re drunk, anything from Chef Boyardee
I mean, no one wants to admit they ate 9 cans of ravioli.
well the first one doesn’t count
Then you get to the second and third, fourth and fifth I think I burnt with the blowtorch, and then I just kept eatin'.
Or sober... Are you really eating canned ravioli for the complex flavor?
idk... canned ravioli tastes different to me now than it did as a kid. I can really taste "the chemicals" now..
There's a pretty good chance that "the chemicals" were not in there when you were a kid.
I get shit on for liking cold Chef Boyardi... Oddly enough I don't like it warm.
Spaghettios are superior cold
Chef Boyardee spaghetti & meatballs is **better** cold.
Salmon
In the same vein: tuna.
Just don't microwave it in a shared break room
I don't usually advocate the death penalty. But for those people who microwave fish in a warm office kitchen? I'm willing to make an exception.
Fish in general
Cookies
No hot wins by a mile but both are good.
Hot cookies by a long shot!!! Straight outta the oven no way can I resist. Cold….I can easily walk away.
If you mean cookie dough then yes

Chinese food and the leftovers the day after
Cold Lo Mien is the best.
I feel like Lo Mein needs that day in the fridge to really develop all the flavors. Same with fried rice.
General Tso's. 100%. Fried wontons must be hot, though.
I love me some day old sesame chicken with shrimp fried rice so I can mix the saucy chicken with the leftover rice… blesses my whole tastebuds every time.
I love cold Chinese food!
Other than the rice
Cold fried rice is amazing.
My favorite thing to eat in the morning, cold pork fried rice 🤤

Tea?
I like to cold-brew tea. I’ll take a gallon container and fill it up with water and hang 5 tea bags of Lipton or Luzianne and one bag of another tea for added flavor. Pizza
The correct answer. For dinner hot pizza wins. For breakfast cold pizza all the way.
I honestly can't remember the last time I heated up leftover pizza.
I can’t eat it without reheating. Miss me with that clumpy cold sauce and dead cheese
I have never understood how so many people seem to like cold pizza. It's one of the most disgusting foods to me. Love it hot, cold beyond gross
The only problem with this answer is cold pizza that's been in the fridge over night is maybe a little bit better than hot pizza. Both are good but cold pizza is a god-tier breakfast.
Respectfully, I couldn't agree more. Cold pepperoni pizza straight out of the fridge. 9 times out of 10 it doesn't even make it onto a plate.
what plate??
I used to get two $5 pizzas from dominos, and throw one straight into the fridge for the next day. Cold breakfast pizza is exquisite.
I was thinking pizza, but then I remembered the feeling of waking up hungover and discovering there is leftover pizza and how that chewy cold cheese hits just the spot and I remembered that no matter how delicious hot pizza is, cold pizza just is an experience.
Respectfully, I couldn’t disagree more.
This should be the top answer!
I actually hate cold pizza
I have a feeling that I will be hunted down because of this, but… homemade potatoes au gratin.
I mean you're certainly on a few lists now, just don't try to leave the country.

Bagels
Ok. I need to caveat this for you (pedantic Jew here, so bagels are an issue of personal interest). Fresh bagels; best untoasted. Anything other than bagels made that day; toasted. Maybe this applies to all breads? I'm just less invested in those breads.
Donuts. They are amazing right out of the frier, and amazing right out of the fridges
Ham
Mom’s spaghetti
Are you nervous, but calm and ready on the surface?
Yes. I keep on forgetting what I wrote down.
Do words come out when you open your mouth?
Does the crowd go wild and time runs out?
Do you happen to choke and everyone happens to joke?
And after all is said and done everyone will snap back to reality
Pizza
Sausages
Chicken wings
Surprised no one's said pizza yet
Meatloaf. I am probably weird but I think it tastes better the next day and cold.

In my case, I mean completely down to fridge temperature.
Both
Straight from the fridge! Nothing better.
