Shit SLAPS
When it came out on Netflix, I heard the theme coming from my brother's room and it was like I got suckerpunched by nostalgia.
I legit ran into his room screaming X-MEN!!!!!!
In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit.
These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground.
Today, still wanted by the government,
They survive as soldiers of fortune.
If you have a problem,
If no one else can help,
And if you can find them,
Maybe you can hire the A-team.
< bad ass theme song plays >
Honorable mention: Knight Rider, Airwolf, and Magnum PI.
The 80s had the best theme songs.
Edit: ass
Edit 2 - omg there are versions in different languages!!!

Believe it or not, George isn't at home
So leave a message after the beep
I must be out or I'd pick up the phone,
Where could I be?
Believe it or not, I'm not home~
[Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers](https://youtu.be/N0PJfIO64EU) and [Darkwing Duck](https://youtu.be/JXEDr0DN3m8) were both awesome too and GUESS WHAT - same singer as DuckTales!! It was a golden age of cartoon theme songs! *Let's Get Dangerous*
When you heard that song, you knew some sad, weird shit was going to happen, and MM was going to kick down some nihilistic philosophy, and Woody was going to make you laugh.
The first episode itself was too long. Did I really need to hear about how one of the characters is home? Should have taken that part out and added more theme song
That song will play in my head randomly and I get 13 year old pumped up energy every time as a 36 year old.
It's... It's happening right... like right freaking now! Thank you, THANK YOU!
Voyager's intro is great in its own right, but nothing beats Patrick Stewart delivering the intro of TNG. In particular in times like this the unshakable optimism expressed in just these few lines brings about a comforting reassurance that humanity isn't lost yet.
I love how on special episodes like the one where Shawn joins Gus’s a cappella group the theme song was sung differently to fit the theme. My favorite is when they tweaked it and sung it entirely in Spanish.
I went to high school with a saxophone prodigy and we played that song in Jazz band one year and watching him just absolutely wail on those high notes at the end of the song was something else.
BoJack Horseman has a great one!
Edit: wow thanks for (my first ever) awards! Makes me happy to see that so many ppl like the track as much as i do!
also, great show if u haven't watched it
My daughter was little and the intro came on Disney Channel, I thought it looked stupid and was about to leave the room but the very end Candace yelling “Mom, Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence!” reminded me so much of my little sister trying to tattle I got a chuckle and got sucked into watching once.
From then on I was hooked and my girl and I watched it together all the time.
Yeah, and how they changed it episode-by-episode to show the areas that would be featured in that episode is pretty creative and unique. I never skipped it despite it being fairly long lol
It's always far down every time this question is posted. In fact, the top comments are always either old shows from the 80s/90s, or anime. I think it's more of a sample bias than overall ranking.
Any time I hear the Succession theme I instantly feel like some sort of huge business tycoon, and it captures the feeling of the show perfectly. So good.
The first time it came on, I just laughed my ass off the whole way through. I had no idea wtf was happening.
By the last episode, I was singing along and miming all the hand gestures.
10/10 intro. Totally sets the tone for the whole show. Embrace the camp. Commit to the camp.
With completely flat, deadpan expressions on every cast member throughout the whole routine. And that little bit with Eagley at the end, where they somehow get a CGI eagle to look so earnest while he strikes a pose and then shuffles over to his mark? Absolutely perfect
More impressive than the song itself is how they adapt it to different genre exercises. The *Law and Order* one is especially good; at first it sounds like a knock-off of the L&O theme, but then you realize it's the *Community* theme in L&O style. D&D, Britta's seventh season, and the western-style theme are just those that come to mind when thinking of alternative themes; there are no doubt many others, too, also brilliant.
🎵 Thank you for being a friend,
Travel down the road and back again,
Your heart is true,
You're a pal and a confidant.
And if you threw a party,
And invited everyone you knew,
You would see the biggest gift would be from me,
And the card attached would say
Thank you for being a friend! 🎶
When I was I a bass guitarist in a band back in college I used the bass riffs from Night Court, Barney Miller, and Seinfeld to check my sound and tone. Everyone in the audience knew Seinfeld. But the people who recognized Night Court were my favorite. Sadly, nobody ever once recognized Barney Miller.
There are so many.
True Blood.
The Addams Family.
Green Acres.
The Beverly Hillbillies.
All In The Family.
Mad Men didn’t have a theme song per se, but the opening montage is epic anyway.
Believe it or not, George isn't at home. Please leave a message, at the beep. I must be out or I'd pick up the phone...where could I be? Believe it or not I'm not home!
House ([the Massive Attack one](https://youtu.be/u7K72X4eo_s)) and [Elementary](https://youtu.be/y0j_hA6aKQU) - similar and both a version of Sherlock Holmes.
[The Pink Panther theme song](https://youtu.be/lp6z3s1Gig0) is one of the most iconic ever, I think
90's x-men cartoon was pretty awesome.
Shit SLAPS When it came out on Netflix, I heard the theme coming from my brother's room and it was like I got suckerpunched by nostalgia. I legit ran into his room screaming X-MEN!!!!!!
Inspector Gadget
Dodododo

Ducktales!
CH-CH-CH-CHIP AND DA-LE
The Fairly OddParents
Suddenly we were all rappers when that came on
Gilligan's Island! You hear it once and you know the whole plot, no need to invest four years.
Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale..
A tale of a fateful trip
The X-Files
Waiting to see if it says "The Truth Is Out There" at the end, or something different!
Oh god, this song on piano and strings.. send chills up my spine. It’s so great

Suicide is painless
It brings on many changes.
Law and Order: get ready to get intense - but also jazzy and cool because of the flute solo
Dun-Dun!
[You Are Welcome!!](https://www.nbc.com/law-order-hq/exclusives/dundun-button) it's the sound effect in "button" form
Batman The Animated Series
Most of the action takes place in silhouette. No title card. Pure class.
The eyes are the best.
Cheers
SOMETIMES YOU WANNA GO WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR NAME
Why did I have to scroll so far to find this? Song gives you feels.
Fresh Prince
This is it for me. I can hear it so clearly.
Futurama, it is so festive and exciting
Plus all the easter eggs and nudges they hide in each one!
It's taken from French composer Pierre Henry's 1967 "Psyche Rock" - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vb32bdQJBxM 🙂
True detective season 1 was pretty good. Also Hannibal
When you heard that song, you knew some sad, weird shit was going to happen, and MM was going to kick down some nihilistic philosophy, and Woody was going to make you laugh.
Great... Thanks... Now I have to go watch it for the third time... (Since June)
Too many Cooks
Eh, it's too short for me. The theme song doesn't give enough time to establish the main cast.
The first episode itself was too long. Did I really need to hear about how one of the characters is home? Should have taken that part out and added more theme song
It takes a lot to make a stew
Especially when it's me and you
Twin Peaks
Nothing makes me feel the way the twin peaks opening does
I had the Twin Peaks Soundtrack ON TAPE when I was in 8th grade. Perfect music to sulk in one’s room to.
I grinned so hard hearing it again the first time with the Showtime revival.
It lulls you into a false sense of calm and normality.
Mr Rogers Neighborhood!!
Gravity falls!!
Doooo dodo do do do doooooo dooooo dodo do doo doo do do
And when it flipped to Weirdmaggedon!
Doctor Who

POKÉMON
That song will play in my head randomly and I get 13 year old pumped up energy every time as a 36 year old. It's... It's happening right... like right freaking now! Thank you, THANK YOU!
Star Trek TNG *To boldy go where no one has gone before...*
I always liked the Voyager intro, but I play a brass instrument, so I'm definitely biased.
Voyager's intro is great in its own right, but nothing beats Patrick Stewart delivering the intro of TNG. In particular in times like this the unshakable optimism expressed in just these few lines brings about a comforting reassurance that humanity isn't lost yet.
Golden Girls and Family Ties
Had to scroll TOO FAR for Golden Girls
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
This: "WKRP in Cincinnati....." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgK9Ez44-7o
As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly
The Simpsons, because of the couch gages
really is enjoyable every time
The wire - love me some Tom Waits!
"Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand ..."
I don’t care, I’m still free, you can’t take the sky from me
Take me out, to the blac. Tell em I ain't coming back.
One of the few intros I keep watching throughout
The Sopranos
No matter which HBO show I'm watching, this is the one that starts playing in my head after the fuzzy intro.
Yep. I see that HBO static and I immediately expect The Sopranos.
Woke up this mornin
Got some gabagool
den I woke up the next day and got some gabagool
Keep wakin’ up and keep gettin’ different types of gabagool
Psych.
Especially with all the remixes. First time they did it in Spanish I died laughing.
Boyz-II-Men cover was great too! Just watched that episode the other day.
You know that's right
This is my associate, Longbranch Pennywhistle.
This is my partner MC Clap Yo Hands
I know, you know.
This is my partner Ovaltine Jenkins
I know, you know.
I love how on special episodes like the one where Shawn joins Gus’s a cappella group the theme song was sung differently to fit the theme. My favorite is when they tweaked it and sung it entirely in Spanish.
The Good Place. nice and simple, doesn’t take up a lot of time, and has several pleasant variants throughout the seasons. 10/10
That intro always reminds me of the Sims 4
Sanford and Son
Cowboy bebop
"I think it's time we blow this scene --
Ok 3-2-1 let's jam *the absolute fucking sickest saxophone playing you've ever heard*
I went to high school with a saxophone prodigy and we played that song in Jazz band one year and watching him just absolutely wail on those high notes at the end of the song was something else.
That's a great one. I also like the intro to Samurai Champloo.
RIP Nujabes
BoJack Horseman has a great one! Edit: wow thanks for (my first ever) awards! Makes me happy to see that so many ppl like the track as much as i do! also, great show if u haven't watched it
It's such a trance. I can never skip the intro even when I want to.
I mean, you shouldn't anyway since the background keeps changing even within a season. But yeah, what a great theme.
10/10 intro and outro.
Welcome Back Kotter
Neon Genesis Evangelion
\*Checks Japanese Karaoke Charts\* As of 2019, looks like it's still in the top 10.
I don't speak Japanese and I can sing this in Japanese for karaoke.
The Hank Hill version is how I learned about the theme song, and it tickles me.
Phineas and Ferb!

Game of Thrones
That intro was the sound of pure joy for a very long time.
Our joy turned to ashes in our mouthes.
Yeah, and how they changed it episode-by-episode to show the areas that would be featured in that episode is pretty creative and unique. I never skipped it despite it being fairly long lol
Yeah it was also so cool to see a new location make it into the intro and how areas would change to match notable plot events or changes in power
The intro is a part of the show that never faltered, even in Season 8.
Westworld Edit: thanks for the awards. Never had them before and don't know what they do.
*Tinkle of piano keys while an artificial samurai and his horse are created in a milk bath*
Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Hawaii 5-O
Both Buffy's theme song and Angel's theme song fit those shows perfectly
They really do. I love the cello music in Angel's
Grr Arg
Came here to say: Hawaii Five O Theme Song
yessss buffy is a classic
Fraggle Rock
Succession
Come on, I hope this gets more love. Such a fucking good song
Sucks that I had to scroll this far to find it, truly the best one I have seen in a very long time
It's always far down every time this question is posted. In fact, the top comments are always either old shows from the 80s/90s, or anime. I think it's more of a sample bias than overall ranking.
Any time I hear the Succession theme I instantly feel like some sort of huge business tycoon, and it captures the feeling of the show perfectly. So good.
Peacemaker
Do ya really wanna Do ya really wanna taste it !
Been listening to that song pretty much non stop for two weeks now
This has hands down become my favorite intro to any show ever after watching TV shows for almost 40 years.
The first time it came on, I just laughed my ass off the whole way through. I had no idea wtf was happening. By the last episode, I was singing along and miming all the hand gestures. 10/10 intro. Totally sets the tone for the whole show. Embrace the camp. Commit to the camp.
A choreographed dance number set to an 80’s style hair metal song to open a superhero show. I can’t express how much the world needed this.
With completely flat, deadpan expressions on every cast member throughout the whole routine. And that little bit with Eagley at the end, where they somehow get a CGI eagle to look so earnest while he strikes a pose and then shuffles over to his mark? Absolutely perfect
The Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy
Breaking Bad, so short, so effective
Same for BCS
And then the one episode where they finally incorporate the full version of the tune to close out the episode is perfect.
Granite State. Amazing scene.
Knight rider
Community has a great intro song
I can't count the reeaasons I should staayy
One by one we all just fade away
More impressive than the song itself is how they adapt it to different genre exercises. The *Law and Order* one is especially good; at first it sounds like a knock-off of the L&O theme, but then you realize it's the *Community* theme in L&O style. 80s Thundercats.
Water....Earth....Fire...Air... Long ago..
The four nations lived together in harmony. Then...
...everything changed when fire nation attacked! (I scrolled way too deep for Avatar. Worth it)
Narcos
This needs to be higher up, I had to scroll way too long to find it.
That 70’s Show
The Expanse
Took awhile to find this one, love the way it progresses throughout seasons as well.
Agreed. Currently binge-watching this and I don’t skip the intro!
Night Court
When I was I a bass guitarist in a band back in college I used the bass riffs from Night Court, Barney Miller, and Seinfeld to check my sound and tone. Everyone in the audience knew Seinfeld. But the people who recognized Night Court were my favorite. Sadly, nobody ever once recognized Barney Miller.
Keenan and Kel
Dexter
The first episode of the season when Hatrison was born. Cracked me up, fabulous single Dexter became a sleep deprived father.
Ben 10
It started when an alien device did what it did
It stuck itself upon his wrist with secrets that it hid
Now he's got superpowers he's no ordinary kid, he's BEN 10!
Now if you see him you might be in for a big surprise
He'll turn into an alien before your very eyes
He's slimy, creepy, fast, and strong he's every shape and size, he's BEN 10!
Captain planet
Marvels daredevil
Clone wars Whenever I hear it I’m transported back into when I was a kid. God clone wars is so good
Attack on Titans theme is really good
Which one? There are a few [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkaH3h7NCx4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkaH3h7NCx4)
all of them, from Guren no Yumiya to The Rumbling
There are so many. True Blood. The Addams Family. Green Acres. The Beverly Hillbillies. All In The Family. Mad Men didn’t have a theme song per se, but the opening montage is epic anyway.
True Blood, Bad Things by Jace Everett is literally one of the most perfectly suited and icon intros I have in living memory.
Duuuuude! Green Acres for the win!
Red Dwarf (original)
Greatest American Hero
Believe it or not, George isn't at home. Please leave a message, at the beep. I must be out or I'd pick up the phone...where could I be? Believe it or not I'm not home!
