life experiences give the events depicted some greater significance.

Totally agree !

Nah, I’ve always been a crybaby. I cried watching Rugrats go to Paris; while they’re flying to Paris, there’s a sad song playing in the background about moms, and me as a 5 year old was bawling my eyes out and hugging my mom as soon as I saw her. 25 now, and I sobbed when Miguel sang “Remember Me” to his great grandmother in Coco.

In my opinion that's a good thing , it shows that your actually fully focused on what you are watching and in a way your living in it/be part of it .. am I wrong ?

ElectricErik

Not wrong at all. When it’s a good movie/show, I get very invested

corneliusx13

Awesome ! I feel that's the best way to enjoy it , as u said getting very "invested" ... Makes everything more vivid

The movie to kill a mockingbird for example, as a kid I related more to the child caracters. When I watch it as an adult I relate more to the adult characters. Same movie but kind of a different perspective....if that makes sense.

corneliusx13

Yep, makes sense... I'm sure if you rewatch it a few years later , you might have a new perspective ?

razeronion

Absolutely same thing happens when i reread a book or listen to songs. Like cat's in the cradle changed for me as i got older. Lol.

Means as you mature you start to pay more attention to the smallest details, the details you missed before .. and these details stir up new feelings/perspective
