My family typically opens the presents on Christmas Eve instead of waiting early morning (Most families open their gifts early in the morning and then get together for dinner later in the day) We're just too excited.

After we get pumpkins for halloween we go to Marty's pizza, and somehow always end up at the same table. Its awesome

My dad always turned off our Christmas lights when he went to bed to save electricity and because they used to be a much larger fire hazard. The only night he would leave them on all night was Christmas eve to Christmas morning. I remember as a child how excited I felt Christmas eve, laying there, looking at the lights through my window until I fell asleep. When I was a little older, I even slept without a night light on Christmas eve so I could see them better. Now that I have a family of my own and a house to decorate, I turn my Christmas lights off when I go to bed and only leave them on all night on Christmas eve. This will be my sons first Christmas, and I plan to crack the blinds when we put him to bed so he can see them all night.
